This is a lovely palette but I'm not sure I want to keep it. I'm not very dark, I'm about an NC25. I really like the top two eye shadows, one is a shimmery apricotish and the other is a matte light-medium brown. The other two don't show up at all. Not even as texture. I like the blush which is a deep peach. The multiple I could do without. I will never use it on my cheeks so it doesn't really have a place in a palette with four other red lippies as a lip stain or gloss. I love all of the lipsticks except for the darkest which does nothing for my coloring. I think the palette is a great value, that is if you can still get it for around its original retail price. I would love it if it weren't for the es that don't show up and the multiple.

This is my first NARS palette; I got it based on the high reviews here on Makeup alley even though I have probably more red lipsticks than I will ever use before they go bad LOL. But I am not disappointed; it's got some of the red shades I would never think of buying alone, but because they are paired up with some beautiful neutrals (which I also would not normally buy alone), they are all here in an easy to pick up and go format.
I really have to address that some users think that there is a lack of pigment in the neutrals - I really have to say at first that they seemed to have *NO* color at all, but once they are all on your face, they are exactly the right color combo to go with the brilliance of the reds- like what others have said, it is a remarkable neutral look which I think would work on almost all skin tones. I am a MMM/GGG and they give the sheerest neutral tone to the eyes - of course, I add a bit of liquid liner for a classic clean look (top lid only), but I don't even do that for all the time for a day look.
This is my first experience with the NARS lipsticks - I think these are all satin formulation; they are more on the waxy side, and very pigmented so it is easy to go with a sheer red lip look. They wear well and have no flavor/smell. Very nice. I have been a MAC lipstick girl for years, but the MAC mattes tend to be too powdery and drying as of late, so this is a good news for me. The only thing I don't like about the NARS palette is that I think there should be a small complimentary brush set in the palette, just to give you an option for when you don't feel like toting around the portable lipbrush/eyeshadow brush.

As with the Bewitched Lip Lacquer I got this as a present for my birthday yesterday and I was so excited to receive it. I feel really ungrateful as I'm giving this a bad review. I've never had a palette before and I've never really wanted one but I love NARS and this got a pretty good review so I put it on my list. I love reds too and thought it would be a good way to try them out along with some other NARS products. I guess this is okay but I certainly can't see myself buying anything like this in the future. I will probably use it up as I was really pleased to get it. The only thing is I probably won't be buying any of the red lipsticks as a result of this now. The best thing about this palette is probably the eyeshadows, which I thought had a really nice texture and subtle shimmer. The only thing is that they are not very pigmented at all. I think that palettes are probably not the best way to try out a brands products as it seems they only serve to put you off. EDIT I feel I owe it to all NARS fans to say that after giving this a change I am liking it a bit more. I haven't changed the rating though because of the initial disappointment that I felt even though, I too, am a NARS fan. The eyeshadows are still disappointing in the lack of pigment but I quite like the Mauritius blush which I was a bit worried about trying bacause I had a reaction against a No.7 blush stick (but No.7 is a British brand which I personally think is quite poor anyway). But I am pleased that I have come around to liking it a lot more and find myself reaching for it more often than I thought I would.

Great colors. Love it! Didn't think the red cheeks and lips would work on me and really beautiful. Nice neutral eyes. This one is worth tracking down. Can be woan during the day and I am a very "natural" look girl so that is saying a lot. Very pretty sofisticated look for evening. Bought my back up already! Found them at bluemurcury and barney NY Feb 2006 so you can still find thru vendors, seen great deals on ebay for less and the product was new in box.

Definitely a good but for the red lovers who want to find the perfect red lipstick, or mix them. The shadows in this are incredibly neutral and pale, so I suggest augmenting them with a little liquid liner in black to create a classic look. I also suggest playing up brows by using a brow shaping powder in a shade one or two shades lighter than your hair color. I like Blondie shadow for blondes, and Bali for dark haired girls.

I think that this is an amazing palette for anyone with Asian features. I am Chinese and this accentuates every one of my features. The bold reds for the lips and subtle browns for the eyes give a sophisticated yet sexy look. I always get noticed and complemented whenever I am wearing this palette. Great with all dark colours, perfect palette for fall/winter I have already purchased it twice.

Hang onto your Whitestrips, these lipsticks are RED! I'm not usually one to wear such vibrant reds, but it was hard to resist these sexy shades!
The eye and cheek options are a perfect match for the bright lip colors. The eye shadows — Nepal, Biarritz, Madrague II, and Tibet — are a pretty and understated assortment of neutrals. The blush, Passion, is beautiful and light. I actually didn't think it'd show up on my GGG skintone, but it turns out to be a lovely, warm highlight. I probably wouldn't wear the red-toned Multiple, Mauritius, with the red lipsticks, but it's gorgeous with the eyeshadows and softer lips.
As wild as the lip colors are, this is actually a quite practical palette. And the range of reds — Jungle Red, Red Lizard, Heatwave, and Scarlet Empress — makes it quite simple to find or mix that perfect shade. This is my first NARS palette, but (if I can afford it, lol) it certainly won't be my last!

I finally got this palette after weeks of consideration, and I am so glad I did!! For spot-on color descriptions, see Timbuktu's review, below. I feel like every girl could survive with just this palette for old-school glamour and Rapture for beautiful, natural looks (see my review of Rapture, as well). Don't just try the lip colors on your hand!! I made that mistake and it kept me from buying this beautiful set for ages. I don't mind dramatic looks at all, but seeing four swipes of red on my hand just looked bad to me, and I kept avoiding this palette. Finally I took the time to try each of the lipsticks actually on my lips, and I was instantly sold! I never imagined that ALL FOUR shades could look incredible on me, but they do! Even Heat Wave, the tomato red just looks shockingly good. For reference, I'm pale (NW20) with pink undertones, dark blonde hair, blue eyes. Probably the coolest part is that this palette makes mixing the perfect red a cinch. The cheek colors are great in that they are so different from each other. Passion is a very subtle matte glow, perfect for if you're wearing the red mouth full-strength. Mauritius is gorgeous, though I think I'll wear it more on my mouth, or as a blush with the lip colors from Rapture. And the eye shadows are a great selection of truly wearable shades for depth without noticeable color. Red Lizard is my favorite of the lipsticks, and I think I may have to buy a full size of this perfect movie-star red. This palette is a MUA must-have!!!

A beautiful beautiful must have pallete for everyone who loves red. I have never seen anything so gorgeous. I have dark eyes and hair and when I wear this pallete with a black dress, I look like a movie star(ok well maybe only in my head.). Like other reviewers have stated, its not a pallete for the office although I do use the eyeshadow. They are very neutral. You have to go out and get this. Please!

For eyes: Nepal, Biarritz, Madrague II, and Tibet; For cheeks: Passion and Mauritius;
For lips: Jungle Red, Red Lizard, Heatwave, and Scarlet Empress. For me, this is not an everyday palette, but when I do choose to use this, normally at night, this has all of the sexy red lips and e/s I could ever need. It is an excellent way to figure out which type of red (blue or orange) is best suited for your skin tone.

I *love* this palette; four perfect red lipsticks for any mood, plus great neutral eye & cheek colors - you cannot mess up the deep red lip look with this palette. (I keep seeing overly-made up women on CNN, etc., with deep red lipstick PLUS heavily lined eyes PLUS loads of mascara PLUS blush, and I think "she really needs the Erotica palette!")
Unlike some of the other posters, I regularly wear this during the day for a prossional look; I think it's incredibly versatile and love it for travel. Expensive, but worth it for the quality of the individual products and the convenience of the packaging.

Beautiful classic colors. Despite the somewhat off-putting name (made me wonder if these were supposed to be appropriate colors for a pay-per-view special) these are marvelously wearable products, including the red lipsticks. The formidably dark cream "multiple" just reads as a pretty flush on lips and cheeks, which is what Benefit Benetint promised and didn't deliver for me. Beautiful neutral eye shadows, entirely appropriate for work. A++ for Francisco on this one.

I *adore* this palette. I take it with me when I'm out on the road and can only afford to take two or three beauty essentials. For me this is the end-all, be-all of makeup kits. It contains the perfect blushes, the perfect neutral and subdued eye shades to perfectly compliment the bold red lips...All of my *fave* red NARS lipsticks: Heatwave, Red Lizard, Fire Down Below, and so on are included! Oh man how I love this palette! ...Sure, it's a bit much for daytime wear... but it's not like I care :-D

Favorite palette of all time, ever. Every shadow shade is lovely, soft, and workable, and I've found my ultimate matte red lipcolor in Red Lizard. I'm a PPP with neutral undertones, and Red Lizard stays true, non-fuchsia, vivid neutral red - not too blue, not too orange. Passion, like most Nars blushes, looks darker than it applies and could work for almost anyone; Mauritius gives a lovely clear glow to my cheeks. Can you tell I like this palette?

I love traveling with this palette because it's classic, versatile, natural and- best of all- the tan eyeshadow shade can be used for brows as well. The lipsticks can be light stains for day and deep, lasting reds for evening. I too bemoan the lack of a liner shade, but I just use the New York from my lust for life palette, which is little Erotica's travel companion. Together they've seen a lot.

Another great palette from NARS! The eye shadows are very wearable neutral shades- but very pretty, NOT drab! The Passion blush is perfect, and I've taken to using the Mauritius multiple on my lips more than any of the provided lip colors! The lip colors are very pretty, saturated bold colors in varying shades of warm red. Very nice!

Love these warm neutral eye shades and red lip colors, which work together well for a simple classic look. Plus you get the choice of a tan or berry flush cheek shade. The lip shades are a little bright or dark for me to wear as anything more than a light stain, so I've probably used these less than the eye and cheek colors. I would have liked to see a darker, liner shade in the eye colors, but apart from that this is all you need for a wearable everyday look or a bit of evening drama. As most of the Nars palettes seem to do either all subtle or all dramatic looks, this has to be more versatile.

I bought a few of the palettes and this is by far my favorite! I loved the colors at first glance but was absolutely amazed when I put them on! I wear them almost daily and I love that this look goes with ANYTHING. It was quite the bargain vs buying each of the 4 eyeshadows, 4 lip colors, and 2 blushes separately BUT still rather pricey at $67. I like the way the eyeshadows go on and they wear all day (when used over a good primer). The lipsticks are too perfect and did I mention the blush?!
