I am fair-light skin color, warm-nuetral ...... and on me, Apple Brandy is a really pretty peachy-red color. I have tried so many red lipsticks, and red almost always looks bad on me - I think most reds have too much blue or violet or something. But this color is a really soft, natural warm red. The only other red lipstick I really like is the Clinique Black Honey, and that is more of a deep berry red. Love both Black Honey and Apple Brandy, have bought multiple times before and will continue to buy again! :)

This lipstick has a nice moisturizing feel and sheer coverage, but the color is not what I had hope. I don't understand others' description of it as a red shade. On me, it's definitely a light coral. Definitely no blue undertones. I think of it as a good alternative to Black Honey which is too sheer for my preference. It's a a nice product, but the color is not what I was looking for.

I do believe Clinque's Butter Shine in Apple Brandy is my HG lipstick. It's a beautiful sheer, warm red. It goes on beautifully and feels hydrating to my lips. I have gone through a tube and liked it so much that I have about 6 backups! It's the perfect red for fair skin blonde's like me. My only complaint is that I have to reapply often. But it's very forgiving and I don't need a mirror for quick touch ups. For reference I am around NC 15 with blonde hair and green eyes.

bought this yesterday. beautiful berry color tinged with pink/red for brightness. fantastic formula. buttershine formula is soooo soft in its natural state- be careful not to leave it in your car, it will just melt to a puddle! great color payoff.
update: loved it but then halfway through, it was so soft it broke off all the way down. :(

One of my all time favourite lipsticks. I've worn this right down to the very last bit in the tube, that's how much I love it. It's a soft sheer pinky red, very wearable, with a soft easy to apply texture. This is a lipstick which accentuates without overwhelming. Perfect day time wear. I'm growing to love a bolder lip as I get older, and am definitely going to buy this one again.

This is my first Butter Shine - I was looking for a sheer red to replace a BB red that has been discontinued. I loooove the case - so glamorous (silver bamboo) and sturdy. The lipstick feels great going on - moisturizing and creamy. I wish the shape of it was a bit smaller (like the Almost Lipstick, whose size/shape is perfect for quick application). This Butter Shine is a similar shape, but much bigger, so unless you're Angelina Jolie or use a lip brush, it's awkward to apply.

As I expected, being so creamy, this does not last long (maybe 2 hours max). It also tends to "slide" toward the outside of my lips, so as time goes on I develop a ring of darker color on the outside. Not great. As it wore off, it did leave a stain of color.

I have Clinique lipstick in Merlot and love it, but sometimes you don't want that much red. Apple Brandy on me is a sheerer version of Merlot - with a touch of fuschia. A bit brighter than I'd hoped.

While this is nice, I don't think I'd buy this shade again because it's not quite what I was looking for. I was seeking a bit deeper, more natural "berry" tinged red.

I bought this yesterday. I love it. It's the perfect sheer red that makes my face lighten up instantly. I've always had a hard time finding an everyday lipstick color that compliments my pale skin, brown eyes and silver-streaked dark hair without making me look seriously made up, since I like more of a natural but pretty look. I've tried many different nude shades, but nude just doesn't do anything for me, so I've given up on it. I always felt red was a bit scary, but this is the perfect color for me. It stays on quite well for a Butter Shine and leaves a slight stain of color as it wears off. HG!

This is my absolute favourite lip colour. It's a gorgeous sheer red that isn't too "look at me!" just a beautiful colour that looks good for day and night.
I think they may have changed the formula as I recently noticed the yuk chemically taste it used to have is gone.
The only negative is I find it really doesn't last long (But that may be because I wear it so much!)
If anyone could suggest a similar lipstick that is a little bit cheaper i would be grateful...I go through this stuff really fast, it's becoming expensive.
I recently purchased Quo in Bitten but it doesn't quite match up...is a bit too sheer.

The tube is really cute and the color looks nice in the tube but it comes out a bit to brown for me. The texture is really smooth which is nice but the color is not really a good color at all.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this yet! Apple Brandy is a delicious, sheer red (with blue undertones) that is completely wearable. For reference, I am using MK Mineral Powder foundation in Beige 2 and have medium-blonde highlighted hair and hazel eyes. Apple Brandy looks beautiful when paired with neutral eyes or a light shimmery shadow (I usually use the lighter strips in my BB shimmer brick when I use this lippie). I would definitely repurchase this lipstick because it applies smoothly, doesn't bleed or feather and is very versatile!

The buttershines are rich and feel like lip balm. They go on a bit sheer. The silver bamboo style case is to die for. Apple Brandy is a great every day shade that imparts some warm rosiness to the kips. Very neutral and flattering. Could be a MLBB shade for highly pigmented lips. On me this reads like an oomphed up natural rosiness. Quite perfect in every way. If you have lines around the lips, this will travel. And it does not last long. But it feels great. No taste.

This is my all-time favorite lipstick. A warm berry red with gold shimmer that doesn't overpower my pale skin. A great shade for everyday or evening. Very smooth and creamy consistency and good staying power on me. I love most Clinique lipsticks, but this is my fave.

This is a warm, very soft, red with quite a bit of peach in it.

It is a whisper red, not a statement red, and I think it would flatter a wide variety of complexions.

I wear it all year round, but, like the drink for which it is named, it is at its best in autumn and winter.

Wow, i just got this yesterday on my lunch break, after reading reviews here i've been wanting it for ages but held off because i really dont need another lipstick, but i'm glad i did cos it's lovely on. Other reviewers are right when they say it's a warm red with orangey undertones but i dont see any gold shimmer. I absolutely love Buttershines packaging, i like that the lipstick bullet is the full size of the barrell so i'm not afraid of it breaking when i'm applying. This is my 4th Buttershine and i just keep coming back for more. I recently purchased the new High Impact lipstick in Rosette and its more of a clean red (suits my warm colouring) with gold shimmer but i think Apple Brandy is an autumny colour so it will wear lovely now that Autumn is right around the corner!

Bought it 3 days ago at Sephora after getting swayed by the great reviews this l/s garnered...well and i'm not disappointed! I absolutely fell head over heels in love with the texture (super moisturising) and the colour..the flesh-toned berryish glossy muted pink with slight red undertones gives my lightly pigmented lips the smashin' pillow-lips look ala Jessica Alba...I guess this gorgeous colour would suit most skin tones across the globe. The only flip side it the very short staying power. But for the sheer fab colour and formula, I will buy this l/s again for sure.

I love this..my HG everyday lipstick. A great hint of color like Laura Mercier's Mulberry lip stain, but with all the moisturizing factors...for at least 4 hours. It makes my lips looks puckered and moist!
I compared it to Dior Kiss in Chocolate Shake, and it's a bit sheerer, but for the price and amount, you can't go wrong with this!!!

As a product: Buttershines are quite aptly named - buttery smooth and insanely shiny; creating an insanely soft texture. The lasting power is that of a gloss. Packaged in a silver bamboo tube, and retails for $14

As a color: Apple Brandy is a yellow-based apple red with gold shimmer, causing it to lean toward the warm tones.

As a product: Love the feel and the glossiness, but wish the lasting power was better. The product also runs out very quickly, even with only two applications a day. Apple Brandy is less of a "Statement Red" and more of a sheer, juicy wash of color.

Complementary products: Simple shimmery brown eyeliner (i.e. Clinique Chocolate Lustre) and a nude cheek (i.e. MAC sincere or NARS zen)

Whoa - this is gorgeous. A warm red with subtle gold overtones and a slight shine. Really smooth and very comfortable. This formula is lovely. I tend to really like lipsticks with a bit of slip (when I'm not totally loving mattes LOL), especially in winter. This color is so flattering and perfect for a low-key but sophisticated work look. You can slap this on an otherwise bare face and look fab while you enjoy going about your day. Highly recommend for those who prefer reds with yellow/orange tones to reds with blue/purple tones. It's also impossible for this to look over the top or too garish, so for those afraid of reds (which I can't imagine!) this would be a good lippie to at least try out. Reference: fair skin, dark hair and eyes.

Absolutely love, love, love this formula. If you like the feel of a lip product somewhere between the consistency of a gloss and a lipstick, but more like a solid gloss on a stick, this is for you. The first ls in this line I bought was Baby Baby. I used it constantly as a moistening gloss/lip balm and over other lipsticks to impart a shine all winter long. It was the first lipstick I ever used down to the bottom. AB is probably one of the deepest shades in this butter shine line, and I like the fact that you can actually choose how deep you want to go by applying more of less. Too much, however, and it will seem goopy. It is not too dark for work, and it just feels like heaven on the lips. The SA suggested this shade because the color was variable depending on the amount placed. It is a slightly warm red, natural, and shiny but not sparkly. The reason for loosing a lippie is because I had a problem with my last tube with the top of the cap coming off in my purse and opening up. Doesn't seem to be a problem with this new tube, but will see of cap loosens up over time.

I love the sheer, moisturizing formula of the Clinique Butter Shine Lipsticks, and Apple Brandy is one of my favorite shades. It's the perfect sheer red on my pale skin. It's never too orange or too pink, despite my pigmented lips. I love it.
