I purchased this product yesterday, thinking I was finally getting the color red lipstick that I have been searching for. WRONG!!! It is not a true red on me. It seems to have some orange in it. The consistency is good, the price is good, the packaging is good. I think I need a red with more blue in it. The search continues.

A beautifully muted red with depth. A true neutral as I can see the warm tones in it, yet it still makes my whole cool-toned face brighten and seems to meld with any colour combo. Looks a little orangey in drugstore lighting and even swatched - but on the mouth a whole different story. Seems to melt into my lips and looks glamourous but not too-too: like you were born wearing it. Slightly matte/dry texture which suits the shade.
Super-natural!!

Well, I think I finally found the red I was looking for to replace my beloved Clinique Earth Red (discontinued : ( ) I really like Volcanic Red. It seems neutral - no blue undertones, which is rare for a drugstore lipstick. This has a great texture, can be put on quickly and easily without worrying too much about neatness. It doesn't feather into my lines around my mouth and gives me a soft, young-looking mouth. It's moist without being gooey, just beautifully dewy. Love it! I think I may run out and buy a second tube tomorrow because it's so good that it will undoubtedly be discontinued!!

Unfortunately this color didn't work for me --It showed up on my lips as a very strong pink red, no warm tones at all, at least on me (I'm a fair-skinned redhead w/ brown eyes). Too sad, I was looking for a good warm red to wear for nighttime. I love the formula and the quality of the Super Lustrous lipsticks but this particular color was a miss on my list.

i think i may have already found the right red lipstick for me. on me, volcanic red is a true red. not too dark nor too light but it's a soft kind of a true red and doesn't make my teeth color look weird. texture is soft and creamy with no funky smell. its not a matte lipstick but its also not too glossy, just the right amount of sheen. for some reason, this one brings out a pink flush on my cheeks. you can easily wear this for daytime without looking over the top.

Volcanic Red is a Creme formula Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick. The color is definitely red, but it's a wearable, neutral soft red; very suitable for daytime wear. I'm warm-toned NC25, and this is a dramatic red on me, without being over-the-top. It goes on smooth and creamy, and has no scent or taste. The lasting power is great for a non "long wearing" lipstick, and never dries out my lips. Great product - I love the Super Lustrous line.

One of the nicest and most wearable reds around. This is a good daytime red with good staying power, remaining true to colour throughout the day, and as one reviewer remarked, you don't need to use a lipliner with it. The usual nice creamy texture that superlustrous are famous for. An excellent product.

I have been searching forever it seems for a red that is wearable in summer.
I'm a fair skinned dark blonde with dark hazel eyes, so too many reds are waay too blue for me, or they're way too orange.
I also have rather large lips so I look ridiculous with BIG RED LIPS.
Finally I have found a wearable summer red, it definately is more warm toned, which seems to work with a slight tan, but it has great lasting power and oddly enough the smell is not so "revlon"
I'd repurchase.

Beautiful soft red. Looks great by itself or with neutral liner. I receive ton of compliments whenever I wear this. I hazel eyes and it looks great on.

This is a very good beginner red or a great red for someone who's shy about bold colours on their lips. It's a soft red with coral and pink undertones. It's compromising enough that you don't have to worry about wearing lipliner to frame the mouth. It's soft but doesn't lose the essence of a red lipstick - still retains that bright cheerful disposition. A word of warning for those of you looking for a bold wow red, this is not a bold red, it's somewhat muted and an understated red. It's a very wearable red for the office imo and I think this will universally flatter any complexion.

I'm an NC 30/35 Asian w/ pigmented lips and Volcanic Red looks like a pretty strawberry red-pink color on me (not sure about any coral undertones). I like it more everytime I wear it. As for the formula of the Super Lustrous line (reformulated), I have nothing but mushy love for it. Lightweight, doesn't dry out my lips (which pretty much every other lipstick does), fades evenly, etc. Also, I really like the clear "porthole" end so that you can see the color w/o opening the tube. The tube itself is black w/ a gold band around the middle -- simple and chic -- and the cap clicks on securely. Why do I keep straying to other brands? I think I'll stick w/ Revlon for my lipstick from now on...

I would consider this a warm red--a coral red--and very bright. I would never have the um, guts to wear this full strength, but it works as a stain with some gloss beautifully. Lights up my face--would look very sexy on summer nights though it scares me during the daytime.

I disagree with emlo. I have yellow undertones on my skin, but this red works perfect for me. There are gold shimmers in the tube, but doesn't show up on my lips, which is what I hoped for. On me, I didn't see anything pink. One thin layer with a lipbrush gave me a soft red satin. A few more layers, it becomes a bright red without being neon.

I saw this color on Anne Hathaway on the cover of Lucky Magazine. It looked like a gorgeous, warm soft red.

I am NC30 in MAC; pale, yellow-based skin. Volcanic Red is very pink-based and looked too bright in a not very flattering way. Did not work for me as a stain or full strength.

I love the Superlustrous line, so while this color isn't me, I would recommend it for pink-based, pale skintones.

This is the most tempting shade of red, very island girl. There is some coral in here so it's much more wearable and accesible than one of your blue toned or cool toned reds. It's soft, sexy and a twist on the classic reds.
