Don't waste your money on this overpriced product. If the skin improved after using this, it is due to the low ph that does the exfoliation, which any AHA or Glycolic product will do & not from the Vitamin C claimed on this product. As soon as you detect some caramel sugary smell from this procut, that means the potency of the Vitamin is going bye bye.

For those of you who like Cellex-C, you might like MyChelle Dermaceutical's Perfect C Serum just as much, if not more. It has 17% stabalized l-ascorbic acid (FYI, l-ascorbic is the only form that helps collagen. Other C's are merely antioxidant.) along with retinol and lots of great antioxidants. It also has some anti-inflamitory ingredients, which might offset potential irritation. Also, it's only $38.00. You can get it at healthfood stores and Whole Foods or Wild Oats. PS- Wild Oats has MyChell on sale through 4-10-07. They also take returns on all skincare, so it's no-risk!

I didn't find the 'High Potency Serum' on the list, but I assume this section is for it.. I don't know why so many people dislike this serum. I think it serves its purpose well - my skin is really smooth and I have much fewer skin problems than before. I used to get so many dry patches on my face, and now I have none. The only issues I have with it are the price (100$ for 30 mL) and smell - it smells vinegary to me, but it does not last on your face throughout the day. It can sting a LITTLE after applying, but overall, my skin is at its best - less redness, very soft, no acne, no dry patches, etc.

This review is for the high potency serum. It never turned brown on me but was just too harsh. Even skinceuticals aox 15 isn't as strong.

I bought the Advanced Cellex-C serum (I bought the whole 3 step kit) I have dry skin with some pigmentation, this serum barely did anything no firming clearing of the skin etc A HUGE waste of money imho.

Tried this for a month ... irritated red skin and breakouts. Would like to try Obagi C-ffectives instead because I've read it won't make you break out.

DO NOT TOUCH THIS PRODUCT WITH A BARGEPOLE. I do not have sensitive but this gave me the biggest breakout on my forehead and down the side of my face that ive ever had. and to add insult to injury, im still battling with the spots on my forehead 3 months after stopping use of this product. I spoke to a beautician and she said the line is fabulous - IF YOU CAN USE IT!! apparently the pH of the serum is 2.5 (!) and this keep the Vit C potent and therefore efficacious. I dont know about any body else, but i dont see how anyone could put acid on their skin and not have a reaction. While i was in denial of its side effects and did use it, it did nothing for my skin or my acne scars. please save your hard earned cash for other Vit C serums that do a much better job like Custom Dermaceuticals Skin Balancing Serum or Skinceuticals.

I prefer the consistency of this Vitamin C Serum, it is not too heavy when you first put it on over the B-5. By the middle of the day, it starts to feel heavy and my skin doesn't breath. The price is high plus the pain of having to use the B-5 complex as well. I think Jason's Vitamin C-Serum is the best yet that I have tried. Back to the drawing board! What next to try?
My combo skin is also a bit oily after using this and my makeup slides right off my face.

a waste of money. BIGtime. Not only did it break me out but it made me really oily all over. I believe in vit. C but since our bodies do not make it and it is so delicate that if the delivery system if off your are not getting the C. I am in search of the perfect C. This stuff turns brown because it oxidizes like after you bit into an apple...so that is okay it won't affect the potency of the C. The vit. C is delivered with a zinc delivery system- to much zinc can break out a lot of people. They have info on it but of course they dont advertise this. Called company to get info - after reading all studies not impressed 100%, maybe 50% the price is bad!

Total hype, false science. Save your money and find a stable source of vitamin C- this product is NOT! Turns rusty colored in a few weeks, and apparently loses all potency within days of opening sealed bottle. Avoid!

If you've never used Vitamin C before, as L-Ascorbic acid, you would probably be happy with this because it does improve your skin. However, I switched to the Skinceuticals version of this and am more satisfied with it than anything from Cellex-C. Skinceuticals is cheaper and isn't brown from the start too!

I have acne scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (red spots) from newly healed acne lesions. CC helps fade these discolorations. I especially like that it is not in a heavy moisturizing base -- it doesn't clog me up and I can add my own oil-free moisturizer on top if I need to. Expensive, but it actually does something -- LOVE this stuff! Also-- the debate is still on about which Vitamin C product is the most stable. obviously everyone claims that the product they are selling is the most stable. Definitely do your research-- but the Vitamin C in Cellex C is supposed to remain stable and active for 6 months after opening it (even with the change in color which is normal oxidation).

Hey, folks, do your Internet research on this company before you plunk down your hard earned dough. Apparently they have been in a legal wrangle for years over the ownership of the idea of topical C. In fact, no matter who owns it, it is totally out of date. This stuff turns brown in the bottle after a short few weeks, proving its instability. You can get WAY better C products, like Ultraceuticals for far less money.

this product worked really well for me. it faded my red acne scars quickly. when i came back from mexico, i had a big dark freckle on my cheek despite SPF 30, and this product also faded it away! gone! it does sting, but i have oily skin so it wasn't that bad, you also have to use a moisturizer on top of this. the downside is that it is very expensive and the potency is probably questionable after opening the bottles so many times to apply, it also takes a while to finish the bottle. would probably be better if they sold it in a smaller size so that it can be finished sooner and the potency possibly protected more. update: i finished the bottle a while ago & didn't buy another bottle for quite some time, when i started using this again, i started getting a bumpy itchy rash, won't be using this anymore, plus even when i could tolerate the rash, it did nothing to lighten freckles or scars, i wonder what happened?

Love it! I notice such a difference when I use it-- I stopped for a bit and tried a different product, but have gone back to the Cellex-C. Worth every cent. I buy it at the Cellex store here in Toronto and they are great at giving samples of their other products. Have loved them all.

I love this product. I noticed that when I use this serum my acne scars and dark spots fade much faster than during the months that I don't used this serum.
The trick to use this product is to continue using it for at least 2 months. This actually goes for all skin care products out there- it usually takes anout 2 to 3 months to see the real results. Also if you have never used this product before, you should use it every other day or every 2 days in the first couple weeks in order to get your skin used to it. This serum is quite potent so go light handed (2 or 3 drops is all you need), or else it will sting your face big time.

Stings a little when you apply which I could live with if it worked wonders on my skin. Unfortunately it gave me blackheads where I've never had them (on my cheeks). Steer clear I say.

I got a little bottle of this along with an order from gloskincare.com. This stuff is evil. It goes on liquidy and sticky. It stings. And it gave me the mother of all rashes. It took two weeks of hydrocortisone to get my neck and face back to normal.
