Having bought the 75ml when it first came out, I abandoned it in my closet for the longest time as my interest in perfumes waned. As I've become re-interested in perfumery I pulled this, the oldest of my owned scents, out to see if I still liked her and if anything had changed over the years.

First off, luckily Memoirs of a Geisha hasn't turned in any way, maintaining the same powdery-peachy note I remember from when I wore it constantly. At first spritz the citrus notes are acidic and ashy, but it always does that on my skin. Thankfully that phase is fleeting as the peach and kumquat come roaring to the surface, and the two fruits together somehow smell of yuzu. The combination of iris, sandalwood, and fruits gives the blend an overall powdery-peachiness evocative of a geisha at play at a biwa, but it's much too strong and cloying as a spray and would've been (and was) much better as an actual scented powder. Not for me, and hopefully there are others who love this scent more so I can swap my long-ignored bottle to a loving home.

Fragrance is, of course, a very personal thing. If you dislike sweet, fruity scents, then chances are, you aren't going to like this perfume very much at all. With that being said, I love it. First of all, the bottle is beautiful and even more importantly, unique, compared to some of the biggest designer perfume bottles out there that are in just one uniform color(usually gold - glamorous but boring, in my opinion). I mainly smell peach from this, although there is a little bit something extra that keeps it from being boring. There is a big difference between this and Marc Jacobs Daisy (my other favorite) vs. some cheap, cloying spray from the 99 cent bin (sorry if that sounded pretentious).

Edit: Sadly, I have to downgrade this to a 4, as it doesn't last very long on me at all (sometimes, it even disappears within an hour)!

I've had a tiny 15 ml bottle of this fragrance for years, and there's still more than a third left. I don't actually dislike it though. I go through periods where I love its freshness, and other periods where I find it too sour to wear and use it as a room spray instead. It reminds me a lot of BeneFit's Maybe Baby, which I've loved for many years. But unfortunately the jasmine, rose and peach notes in Memoirs of a Geisha are overpowered by the citrus. I'm not a fan of citrus scents and can only tolerate them in small doses when balanced out with other notes. It's just as well that it was LE, as I couldn't see myself buying it again.

It's too bad that this fragrance was LE from Fresh, because I'm super picky about floral scents and I really like this one. It has top notes of sparkling peach, which lingers for a long time, but the floral side of this fragrance (rose absolute and jasmine) keeps it from being too innocent. I think that this perfume is very appropriately named because like the character in the book it is innocent (the latsat fruit and peach), but with a hidden sensuality that is intriguing. The staying power is also very good - it goes strong for about 6-8 hours and then fades into a more subtle version of itself. I am looking forward to wearing this in the spring.

I find this smells sweet and floral/peachy right at first. Then oddly it dries down to the scent of Cannabis (don't ask me how I know what THAT smells like). After about 10-15 minutes I can no longer smell anything whatsoever. I love Fresh fragrances in general but this is one that just doesn't stick with me.

I wanted to love this because "Memoirs of a Geisha" is a book which I loved. I also love Fresh fragrances. This one did not resonate with me, however. While I kept reaching for my bottle of Fresh "Sugar" over and over again, whenever I tried "Geisha" I got a hint of the scent of stale beer, or over-fermented cider, blended with a top note of cherry blossoms. This fragrance just smelled "alcoholic" on me if that makes sense. Perhaps it was my body chemistry, perhaps this is just how I perceived the fragrance, but I will stick with some of my other Fresh favorites.

this is a beautiful scent and one of my favorites! very delicate, reserved and feminine. it makes me very nostalgic for reasons i can't explain..! unfortunately, i rarely use it because it gets easily forgotten in my collection pretty easily, but when i do i always wonder why i don't use it more often.

I get compliments everytime I wear this. It is a light floral mix that has a heady underlying scent that after your heat dissipates the lighter notes, comes to an intoxicating residual. I think guys in particular like it because it starts off as innocent and sweet but suggests so much more (I think they like girls that are like that too!) I think the scent is a tad too strong to wear during the day for a conservative work environment, I save it for nights out or dates.

Memoirs of a Geisha is a perfume that gets stuck in the back of my perfume shelf but when I bring it out for spritzing, I'm always surprised by how pleasant it is. Geisha is a light yet effervescent peach/plum and bergamot fragrance that seems a little reserved and polite. It is the exact opposite of a Guerlain's Jardins de Bagatelle. I would recommend Geisha to someone who likes their perfumes to be in a sheer floral minimalist style such as those created by Jean Claude Ellena.

Here are the notes, per Now Smell This: jasmine, pure rose absolute, sparkling langsat fruit, white peach, bergamot, mandarin, iris, musk and sandalwood.

I get a light, fruity mild floral. Very pretty, but not what I expected from the title. It's a very ladylike, delicate scent, without any underlying decadent secrets

Fresh"Geisha" EDP smells like Fresh "Sake" EDP with cherry blossoms added. I like cherry blossoms, and I like Fresh "Sake" EDP, so I like Fresh "Geisha." It's light, fresh and reminds me of springtime. Will be a wonderful casual spring scent for me.

I had been wearing this fragrance on and off for a few months and only recently started wearing it everyday. It starts off very pungent and as my SO put it "like alcohol", but the dry down is quite lovely. It's a sweet, lightly flowered smell, with a tiny bit of musk. It reminds me of cherry blossoms, actually.

I'm rather sad it's been discontinued but I did manage to stock up on it when it was still around. Good thing too, since I'm about halfway done with the .5oz size I never thought I'd finish!

It is a shame that this perfume is no longer made. Every time I wear it someone asks me what I am wearing. I hate telling them what it is because 1) the name of it is long and weird and 2) they want to know where to buy it and I don't have an answer for them! I think you can get it on eBay now. I was able to grab a bottle on deep discount at CO Bigelow in my mall. It's really a sweet pleasing scent, not too strong either. Definetly a lovely scent.

Got this for about $15 for 5 mini bottles that should last a long time. So this is an expensive fragrance that can be bought dirt cheap.

It is officially described as:

A fragrance of sensuality with floral, fresh and exotic notes. A subtle blend of sheer jasmine, rose absolute, langsat fruit and white peach on a drydown of iris, sandalwood and musk.

Top note : Langsat fruit, Bergamot, Mandarin

Middle note : White Peach, Jasmine, Rose absolute

Base note : Iris absolute, Musk, White Sandalwood

Overall, I enjoy this fragrance. It is sweet, fruity, with a slightly musky floral underneath it all. Despite being sweet it is not little girlie or immature. It doesn't smell like candy on me either. It is just very feminine. Something you can wear with a sundress on a summer day and not be too overbearing, yet also easily worn with a little black dress. To me it smells citrussy upon first spray, and it soon becomes a sweet smell as the mandarin mixes with the white peach. After about 30min-hour the base notes come out and it is a really nice mix. I will say that the musk and sandalwood are *light* these aren't incensy or heavy.

This doesn't have the greatest staying power for me, but I can catch a bit of it a few hours later. You can easily layer this with the sake bath or soap and not be overbearing. It isn't weak, but it isn't potent like say, Angel.

If you like this you'll love Fresh Sake. This smells incomplete compared to Fresh Sake. Try both and compare. Plus Memoirs of a Geisha is discontinued and Sake isn't.

I got this in the Memoirs of a Geisha set. It smells just like the bath gel that comes with it, and if I'd smelled either before purchasing, I probably just would have bought the full size of the mask instead. I find this fragrance to be very cloying to the point of being a bit sickening. I like the idea of it and the packaging is nice, but I would not buy this again.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! Its light, fresh, deliciousness in a bottle.
My fragrances don't last too long on me but this seems to hold up just fine. I got two bottles of this I liked it so much.

I LOVE this fragrance! So much so I loaded up on it before they discontinued it. I love love love it and get so many compliments on it. I'm going to be very sad when I finally run out. I wish it had been a permanent addition to the Fresh lineup. It's one of the few items I still use from Fresh, after my expensive stint in trying to get into their skincare.

I like this scent a lot. Very clean, fresh, and sweet. Every once in a while it gets on my nerves, but for the most part I really enjoy wearing it. It definitely lingers.
