I don't see what the hype is about with this eyeshadow. Very grainy and have to put a lot onto my brush for the color to really stand out on my eyes. To me, it looks very muddy

LOVE this color....It changes easily from day to night. During the day, I apply lightly to crease. At night, I apply a little more in the crease with my MAC crease brush. This is an amazing color to try for people who are new to MAC products. It goes with pretty much every color, and I can play with different lid colors while accenting this in the crease!

This is a beautiful taupe for my blue eyes. It can be packed on for more color or just a light wash. I prefer the light wash. It's great to smudge into some liner for a smoked eye, too. I have found some cheaper dupes, but this is definitely one to pick up!
Age: 19-24 Skin: Normal, Fair, Neutral Hair: Brunette, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Green
This was my first MAC eyeshadow purchase and it really is one of their best.
It is a beautiful taupe shade with a very nice purple undertone that can be made more or less prominent depending on it's surroundings. Across the lid and with a warmer color in the crease it pulls warmer and with something cooler the purple is much more noticeable.
I was drawn to it mostly because I have green eyes and I thought it would make them look brighter and more awake! And that it does! I really like this shadow and though there are similar shades at lower price-points they aren't quite the same.
Definitely will be repurchasing when I run out!
I have this in a 4 pallet with: phloof!, bronze, and orb (all of which I have also reviewed!)
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Combination, Medium, Neutral Hair: Brown, Wavy, Medium Eyes: Brown
Definitely worth the hype!
It's a taupe with lavender overtone and very metallic. Feels smooth to the touch and applies with full colour payoff.
I really love this. I totally get the hype about this fantastic colour! You can dress it down with neutrals or glam up with smoky shades <3
it looks even prettier when paired with purples and silvers.
A must have

In my opinion, this shadow isn't fantastic for blue eyes. Good staying power, average color. I will not repurchase.

I just don't know about this one. The mere thought of typing this review is frustrating me. I purchased Satin Taupe because of the endless raves about it on blogs, Youtube, Makeupalley etc. Its one of MAC's uber popular eyeshadows. When I first bought it a couple weeks ago I was so excited and thought it was going to become an everyday staple in my makeup routine. But... I just don't know.. I can't help but think this makes me look 1) overly made up or 2) like I got punched in the eye. I also thought I would be able to pair this up with virtually any eyeshadow cause I pretty much only wear neutrals but I find myself not being crazy about anything I own being paired up with this. The only combo I find somewhat flattering so far is Naked Lunch all over the lid and Satin Taupe in the outer v/crease. But even that's just "okay". Overall, I'm disappointed that I'm not getting enough out of this shade as I initially thought. There is nothing wrong with the quality its just the color I find perplexing. I realize I'm obviously in the minority with this review.
Edit: Ok, I'm keeping Satin Taupe because I see potential in it. Meaning that if I return it, a couple months down the road I am probably going to purchase another shadow and be like "Damn it! I wish I kept Satin Taupe around because this color would look amazing with it." I am determined to find a perfect combo for ST I just don't have it yet lol.

It's my most favourite eyeshadow of all! Great colour, great pigmentation! I usually use it in the crease but it's a great eyeshadow for all ove the eyelid! If I had to choose only one eyeshadow then that would be it!!!!!

Satin Taupe has got to be one of my favorite, most flattering eye shadows. MAC shadows are generally top notch, and Satin Taupe does not disappoint. It's a gorgeous, medium toned taupe/brown/purplish shade (hard to describe) in a MAC "Frost" finish. I apply ST it on my lids, and pair with a matte, warm brown shadow on the crease--I find this to be key, as it helps to brighten up the look. I use a light nude, beige matte highlight shade (usually Wet n' Wild single shadow in Brulee) on my brow bones and sometimes also add a little bit of a highlight shade--Urban Decay "Sin"-- on the center of my lid, to brighten the eye area (looks beautiful, paired with Satin Taupe). This whole look together makes my brown eyes pop like no other. Satin Taupe is a fairly unique, absolutely stunning shade that I reach for mostly for nighttime looks. It's a staple in my makeup bag.

This is the perfect taupe eyeshadow. If you can only have one taupe, pick this! The shade is lovely and the texture is very smooth and opaque.
