This was my first experience of smashbox shadows and i was very dissapointed, I have this in merge which contains a green, bronze, a deep mauvey color, a lilac shade and a creamy highlight color. None of the colors are pigmented at all and dont show up on me as you see the color in the pan. I use the lilac as base and mauve as the crease with the creamy color as highlight just under the brow, the best I can get is a descent brightened eye look.
But all in all I hardly reach for it, based on this I would be very reluctant to buy smashbox shadows. I also feel their colours are very muted and kinda unappealing.

Yes I would buy this again! I hope it isn't d/c. I just received this in "Mesh" in a swap and it is now my favorite eyeshadow palette - if smashbox's other eyeshadows are as excellent as this, it will be my favorite brand altogether! Love! <3

I have this in Mesh now and I love it. At first I wasn't sure what to do with it as its not sold on the Smashbox website so no instructions. When I read some of the reviews below I was a bit worried but now I've got the hang of it.

First of all this particular fusion is perfect for my blue eyes and pale skin its a mix of neutral beige/pink w/dark and medium gray plus a plummy sort of colour.

The fusion eyeshadow is very versatile in that you can swirl it all together much like the fusion soft lights blush to get one unique but multidimensional colour (depending on which way you swirl lighter or darker) or the colours can be used individually to define and highlight.

I think its pretty good and I would purchase it again if I ran out. Today I am wearing a dark grey cashmere sweater and used the lightes neutral shade all over the lid and under brow then swirled all together and tapped in the middle gray part and used that all over lid/crease, then the darkest gray along the lash line with a creamy black liner. Paired with Smashbox Lipgloss in Fire, its the perfect look for this outfit.

I have this in Sequence (the neutrals) and find it to be a great combo for on the go. The eyeshadow isn't super pigmented but that's a plus for me. Great for a neutral, work appropriate look.

I recieved Smashbox Fusion Eyeshadow in Smashing Merge in a swap this week. This was a QVC exclusive, I believe, part of an auto-delivery plan. Fusion shadow pans consist of five shades. The pans are round, so the amount you get of each shade depends on where the shade is positioned in the pan. The middle shade gives the largest amount, and the end shades are the smallest. In Merge, (all shimmer shades) the largest stripe in the middle is a medium warm brown. On either side of the brown are a darkish peachy-gold and a medium taupe. At the sides, a light yellow and a dark cool forest green. All these shades look really pretty together in the pan. Getting them on the eye takes a bit of work. They are not highly pigmented, so I would say they are good for someone who is just starting to wear different colors on her eyes, and does not want to invest in individual pans. It takes a small brush to use this pan, so that you are able to just pick up one color at a time. There's nothing harsh or over-the-top about these shades, they're basic good shades that are useable and neutral. This is my first venture into wearing browns on my eyes, so I did not want to buy several pans just to try. I like the Smashbox idea of these striped "palette" containers, and would try others too, but I would probably not repurchase. It takes a while to build color, so if you are looking for a big color payoff with minimal effort, pass on this Merge. If you want just a soft applicaton, this could be a good one to try, if the colors suit you.

This is a review for the eyeshadows. Smashbox originally came out with the first Fusion Eyeshadow in Smashing Mosaic. This was available individually and has five shades. A yellow, a light lilac, a deep burgandy, a dark forest green and a light lime green, all with slight shimmer. The quality is horrible. The shades dont work well together, the shadows arent pigmented at all, fade quickly, in a word, HORRIBLE. The stripes of color are also very narrow and hard to fit a brush head into exactly one color.
Next QVC.com came out with the Reel to Real kit. The original kit is also available at Sephora. This kit contained the Fusion Eyeshadow in Smashing Sequence. This is a warm/nude brown set with a off white, a pink peach, a mauvey pink, a copper brown and a darker brown, all with shimmer. The quality of the kits are a little better, a little more pigment but still hard to work within the narrow stripes of color. The colors are very sheer and dont really layer so expect a very natural look.
The next QVC autodelivery kit of Reel to Real contains Fusion Eyeshadow in Smashing Mesh. Mesh consists of a light pink, a light taupe, a light grey, a deep burgandy, and a darker grey, all with shimmer. Once again the quality is slightly better than the original. A little more pigment but still hard to work with.
QVC will come out with two more autodelivery shipments with two more fusion eyeshadows, which i will add to this review when they come out. The original Fusion in Mosaic retailed for $28 and is a big waste of money. The kits depend on what else you want from the kit. The fusion shadow is different than the fusion intermix face powder and also different from Smashbox's newest bronzer releases, dawn and dusk.

I got the one that came with the Real to Reel TSV and I really like this product. Dry, the e/s goes on sheer, but wet, you get more vibrant colors. This is a shimmery e/s and it is quite warm, too. If you don't like shimmer or warm colors, this isn't for you. If you do like shimmer and warm colors, particularly bronze goddess colors, this is an excellent product.

I have the one from the reel to reel TSV and find the colors sort of blah. And I agree they aren't very pigmented. They're a bit on the warm side, for me too. I wish they weren't all shimmery, would have liked some to be matte, would have been a nice mix. These look really pretty in the pan but that's about it.

I have this in Smashing Sequence (from Real to Reel TSV on QVC), it is a very pretty color combination of creams, pinks, and browns. This just doesn't have much pigment, even when it is applied wet. I think that it isn't meant to have much pigment though, & is meant more for a "softer" look.I like my e/s to show up though, so I wouldn't repurchase this, but I'll keep it around for the days when I'm going for an au naturale look.

I've gotten all three of the Fusions. 2 are eye shadows and 1 is a softlights highlighter. The first eye shadow is Mosaic and is a striped blend of yellow, lavender, pink, olive and lime. The second eyeshadow is called Sequence and it is bronzes/pinks/yellows and comes from the QVC TSV from Sept 8. The third is a softlights to be used as a blush or highlighter, but actually can be used as an eye shadow too. In general, these are really pretty combinations but are prettier in the pan, than on your face/eyes. They are not as pigmented as I would have liked. They do blend well and create a very soft look if that's what you're looking for. The colors are generally flattering, but due to the lack of pigmentation, I don't thin they are as special as they should be. The softlights actually does more as a blush than the other two. I'll probably use these a while but will likely swap away later on.
