I visited MAC a few days back to get a white kohl pencil, I wanted something with a more a frosty / iridescent finish then the usual matted one they had so the MA pulled out Heirloom. it was the very last piece they had from a previous collection (currently DC) and advised me to try it.
I still don't know why I got this, it's a cross between lilac and silver, very frosty but not in an EWWW over kill way, a very very sophisticated colour. and I'm the type that prefers vibrant to sophisticated honestly but i gave it a shot.
it really brightens the eyes, especially with a smoky eye look and adds a lovely flare to them. I'm NC15 with deep brown eyes and heirloom adds even more drama and flare to my eyes.
I looked everywhere for an extra one to keep as back but so far I can't find anything to replace it so it's me "special occasions only" colour D=

Gorgeous frosty purple. Intense color despite the frost factor! I love this! Makes my green eyes pop! I have 2 of them but I am sad to hear it's discontinued!!

It's a big fat tragedy that Heirloom was discontinued .. I LOVE this eye kohl!
Heirloom is like a silvery lilac version of Buttery (also DC'd .. MAC sucks!) .. it has that same shimmery ethereal appeal that just has an uncanny ability to highlight the eyes with enough shimmer to wake up the eyes without being overly "frosty" or looking garish. This is stunning on the inner corners to compliment a smokey eye. Applies softly but can be layered for more depth and opacity, and wears surprisingly well. I use this sparingly because I have yet to find anything even remotely similar in terms of both color or quality. Total raves from me!

At my very first (and to date, only) makeover at MAC in preparation for a studio photo shoot in early 2006, the MA used Heirloom (as well as several other products from the current collection) on me and of course, I brought Heirloom home with me. It's a gorgeous hybrid between silver and lavender and it's an eye kohl which accounts for its very soft texture and creamy application. Well, like I said that was back in 2006 and it's already 2009 and I've been using Heirloom practically everyday from then till now. I'm down to my last few centimeters and though the end is yet far, I've already started looking for replacements for my beloved Heirloom. The 2007 Heatherette collection saw the release of a dual-edged eye pencil called Fab Orchid (jewel purple) and Dash Lily (frosty lavender) but it can't hold a candle to Heirloom. I can find no words to express the love I have for this little eye kohl and the sorrow that fills my soul because it was a limited edition product. Whether on the eyelids or on the waterline, Heirloom has never failed me, brightening up my eyes and animating them, even on the several occasions where I'd been crying the night before and woke up with swollen red eyes. I would purchase Heirloom again, oh yes, again and again and again, for the rest of my life if only MAC would bring it back again. My Heirloom has been all over the world with me and it's been through both good and bad times with me and now I'm afraid to use it anymore for fear of it running out. Who knew that such a close bond could be formed with an inanimate object?

Overall rating: This is an HG silvery lilac pencil eyeliner. It's quite pale but doesn't wash out my hazel eyes/NW15 to 20 skin. Actually, it plays up my eyes very nicely even if I don't have shadow on! I consider this a "neutral" shade for me and wear it alone with mascara or with many different colored eyeshadows. Pencil eyeliners don't usually run/rub off on me, so I don't think it's fair of me to comment on the staying power.
Price: Medium-end, i.e, between $14 and $15.
Packaging: Standard wood pencil, so it can be sharpened. (If it's ordinary packaging, I always give this category 3 lippies.)
Would I buy again: It's DCed, but I'd buy again if I could.

I will definitely repurchase if only I can get one!
Thanks to a very lovely and generous MUAer, I was able to lay my hands on it. And I love the color! It serves very well to line my lower lashline.
I use it almost everyday on my lower lids, to create that wide-eyed look or tear look. The color, silvery lilca, is subtle yet shows well enough. I love to pair it with purple or green shades too.
Very verstile and a must-have for me! It goes on smoothly and doesn't drag on skin.
However I do find it a bit hard to show on already-powdered-eyeshadow-put eyes. But I have the same problem with many other light colored Kohls.

I purchased this today and am sad to hear that it is being discontinued. I have it on right now and have used it to line my inner eye corner. Such a pretty silvered lilac. It really brightens and opens up the eye without being overly bright. I may need to have a backup of this, as I can't think of any other pencil that is close to this exact color.

Silvery lilac colour, soft and blendable. Im a DDD with dark brown eyes and this is a staple in my make-up case. I use it to highlight the inner corners of my upper eyelids - perfect when you're wearing dark e/s and need some contrast and definition.

I think the Eye Kohls lose out to the Powerpoints in that it smudges (since it's not waterproof). Due to its smudgier nature, I also find that it's harder to get a thin line, which I like. Colour-wise though, this is very unique and makes for an interesting colour at the lower lash line. It's not too lilac and not too silver, a great colour.

I got this pencil a few days ago, but I had to order it from MAC's website. I saw this color at a MAC counter in Macy's, and when I asked to buy it, the MA told me it should not have been on display becuz Heirloom has been discontinued. ??? The website didn't say anything about that, but anyway...
I hope this color is NOT discontinued, becuz I LOVE IT!!!It truly is a silvered-lavender, and it lasted on me ALL DAY. I use it to line most of my eye (top and bottom lids), especially the inner corners. Then I go over the line at the outer corners with Prussian or another Indigo pencil that I own, and believe me, it looks incredibly gorgeous! Good for everyday, or a night on the town! It brightens up my eyes, and softens the darker color that I use on the outer corners. My eyes are hazel (olive-brown), MAC NC30, brunette, and this color really works out nicely for me! Glad I was able to buy it online! :o)

How I love this shade! A shimmery silvery lavender, I wear this in my upper inner corners almost every single day, and it brightens my eyes and makes them more hazel every day! Might be too frosty for some, but I love it

I am a fair skinned Chinese, with small eyes. I can't use black eyeliner as somehow it looks like someone punched me. So I kept hoping to find something to make my eyes look bigger, I tried almost all the eyeshadows at MAC and none could do it. Until finally the MA asked me to try eyeliners, she was searching for a grayish eyeliner, and I preferred a purplish color. So I saw this and took it and asked her to put it on me. I felt it made me look nicer so I bought it, when my boyfriend came back, he said that my eyes look bigger! I was so happy! And it lasts much longer than eyeshadows! I finally found an eyeliner that I can use! Hurray !

This product is really wonderful. It is a silvered lavender that I put on the top inner part of my eyes. It makes them look brighter and more awake. The price is worth it I think because I use this liner A LOT, especially with my cooler toned eye looks. I also line my lower lashline with it, and it really plays up the green in my eyes. Major RAVE!PPP neutral-cool, dark hazel eyes, brunette hair

I'm a GGG w/ blonde hair and deep bluish green eyes w/ flecks of brown and gold here and there in them. Probably it would be more exceptional to call them a really unique Hazel color. And For "MY" particular eye coloring, this product absolutely sucks! It barely showed up and when I layered it a couple of times, it turned into a really weird Bright, disco ball silver w/ garish purple sparkles. I know now that w/ my dark skin coloring which is probably warm, I need to stay away from this far sided cool shade and all others following it. It looks too teeny bopper anyway, and reminds me of something you'd only wear to a 70's disco lounge or a jun. high prom. Lol. Forget it. I returned this btw.

I love MAC's eye kohls and this is no exception. Heirloom is a silvery lilac just as other reviewers described. If you're looking for a dark liner to define, this is not it. However, it really brightens my eyes and brings out the green in them. I also like to use it in the crease as a shadow. It's a very unique color and a great addition to my collection.

I love this eye kohl. I went to the MAC counter looking for brighter colors and did end up getting Out to Sea and Minted. Then the guy at the counter suggested I try out this lovely lavender with a hint of shimmer. He said it would make my eyes look brighter and perkier. He tried it on me and I fell for it immediately. Apparently, this is a bestseller and I could see why. A keeper, and will buy again!

Heirloom is a gorgeous metallic lavender color. It is incredibly unique and looks great on my dark brown eyes. MAC kohls are wonderful (they are my favorite liner), they are smooth and creamy, glide on easily, yet stay put all day. :-)

This color did NOTHING for me (NC20, brown hair, hazel eyes). MAC kohls in general are very nice but this silvery-lilac made me look ill. it's also very frosty, which could look great on some people but not me!

This is an EXTREMELY pretty colour. I was originally attracted to the Peacock green Kohl but the SA introduced me to Heirloom - she said it was the most beautiful colour for brown eyes. She tried it on me and it was nice. When I came home I filled it up to my crease - that REALLY made my eyes pop (even with no mascara!) and the colour is so beautiful I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror - I'm so glad I got it!! Quite a bargain at CDN$15.5, considering how pretty the colour is. Try it on your eyes - you won't know how pretty the colour is until you have it next to your eyes! UPDATE: If you have oily lids, this may not last long on you (ie a little more than 3 hours or so). You might want to consider powdering your lids to help it last a little bit longer.
