This is my holy grail product to battle acne. I had terrible acne for the past 10 years. The first product that worked well on my skin was Tamanu Oil, but then it began drying my skin out. I bought this Camellia Oil with literally zero expectations and I'm overjoyed now because my active acne is virtually gone, as is my hyperpigmentation - all within the past 3 months. The only thing now that I'm 'battling' are the pitted acne scars, but I think they've diminished with my continuous use of Tamanu Oil and Camellia Oil together. I'm so happy with this product that I don't care about the price I have to pay for Camellia Oil. It beats spending hundreds of dollars a year on useless OTC products that have never worked for me. I recommend this to all people, regardless of your skin condition. It's amazing!!

I was recovering from a raptured acne cycst for about 1 months + now which is still extremely reddish and not to mention the hideous pit that left behind until I read about Camellia oil and decide to give it a try, after only about 3 days of applying, I am seeing vast improvements on not only the redness but the pit scar as well. Well, while it may not completely disappear, it should cover it quite well in time to come. I am also using it for my older pits now. Anyway, If anyone wants to try this product for older scars(pits not redness), I read somewhere that you might need to break up your scar tissues(needling, some acids(glycolic or something?? Not so sure) before it can be effective on your skin.

Holy Grail find! I have very oily skin which was super acne-prone prior to starting a custom-compounded Rx and Clarisonic regiment through my derm. Since maintenance of this regimen requires heavy BP use (BenzaClin, Brevoxyl, Pacnex), I spread a few drops of this all over my face at night then apply the BenzaClin over it. My skin doesn't dry out, and it seems to help the products penetrate the pores.

I have noticed no pore clogging. This is no doubt helped by the fact that I have zero dead skin cells hanging around after the Clarisonic. My skin is now freakishly even toned. I use this on my arms as well when I want to look very toned. I'll rebuy this as long as they keep making it.

I used this over 3 months and it did help at first but then I noticed it made my skin very thick, rough, uneven, red and also clogged my pores, I then broke out in acne. Wanting to use a natural product and reading other reviews on how people stated it made their skin smooth and even and did not clog pores, I persisted for 3 months but never again! it had the opposite effect on me. As it made my skin thicker, rough and dry and then my skin then started pulling down thus creating lines, not good at 32 years old, when my skin was fine before. After several micro dermabrasions, skinn by dimitri james did not work so now I am using a terry weave cloth, I still have not got rid of the roughness and dry patches, I am desperately hoping I can get my skin back to normal before I started using this. All it did was ruin my skin and make it too thick like aged leather with stretched pores and redness.

The first couple of weeks I used this, I was absolutely in love. I used one pump for my whole face and massaged it in every morning and night - and for the first time in my life, my skin had this amazing glow to it and looked healthy. It was also baby butt soft! Other pluses: it plumped up my skin /making some of my pitted acne scars unnoticeable, and it almost "magically" got rid of redness from pimples. Two SAs at Ulta kept raving about my skin, which was very bizarre to me because I've never had good skin or got compliments from it IN MY LIFE. I also got a free makeover from a makeup artist that has done Halle Berry, Kim Kardashian, etc's makeup, and he said I looked better than Kim does without makeup, haha :)

The reason why I gave it 3 lippies is because I think it slowly clogged my pores. Now I can literally see every single one of my pores clogged. It also seemed to have stopped giving my face that glowly look. What a HUGE bummer!!! I really wish I could find something that does the same thing for me as this oil did. The search begins!

I just started using this product so i can't trust too much on it. When i use it, it sit outside of my skin. I know many people say it is easy to penetrate through the skin but my skin is weird. It just wont go through. It takes about an hour before it penetrate through my skin. And even after that, i will have to wash the excess off with water. But after that, my skin will feel so smooth and hydrated. Its the first time using oil base product on my skin so i was quite worried but i totally hydrated my skin and it was nice to use. My acne have not improve from it yet so I'm still continue using and see how it goes.

I like it. It's not a 10 but it's def. not anything under a 7.

+ When applied to face, it leaves it matte and when I apply it in the morning, it absorbs well and helps with the cakey foundation + concealer.
- Cleared up acne.
- Adjusted skin-tone.
- Reduced expression lines.
+ When applied to hair (I only applied it to hair ends), it kind of polishes the ends so they're not as crispy and less susceptible to damage.

I don't like the pump. I guess it's convenient if you're spraying the oil onto your hair... but it gets messy.

I'd repurchase.

I bought this because I read on a million messageboards that it helps with pitted acne scars. I've been using this for 6 months now (morning AND night) and I really haven't seen a difference. I was using it both day and night, even though it makes my skin very oily during the day. It doesn't break me out, and it helps moisturize. I've only used a fourth of the bottle in 6 months, the bottle could easily last over a year. After the bottle runs out I probably will not re-purchase as I feel like it's just extra oil I use but don't need. I mix this with my burt's bees naturally ageless serum, and that already has a million oils in it.

This is an amazing oil. It has a similar effect to silicones- it's smooth and dry (it's a "dry oil") - but doesn't clog my pores. I dont use Silkia, what really matters is that you find a good-quality organic camellia oil- regardless of the brand. I mix this oil with some of my other favourite plant- and essential oils and use it at least once a week for the Oil Cleansing Method, which is basically a soothing facial massage that unclogs the pores and leaves my skin looking all glowy and happy. (more information: http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com ) I use my microfiber cloth and The Body Shop's facial brush for this purpose.

I use this oil mixture around the eyes, and where-ever and whenever my skin feels dry or starts acting up.
Camellia oil is also an important ingredient in my homemade face cream, with aloe vera jelly & a bunch of other oils. My skin loves the natural stuff! :))

Hmm.I'm surprised everyone used it only for the skin.I purchased two samples of this to use as hair treatment.I'm really confused about the results am getting:It makes my hair feel nourished and silky but they feel heavy and my ends are kinda dryish also.It sucks as an overnight treatment(my hair was oily, heavy and dry on the ends afterwards) but if use this on wet hair and leave for a few munites its ok.I expected something better though.I haven't used it for the skin but I'm afraid it will break me out because I had bad luck with other similar oils

I love this stuff. I have acne-prone skin, so at first I was worried about using straight-up oil, but it really seemed to calm my skin. I wear it during the daytime and use a different moisturizer at night.

I use this oil on my face after a home peel. It sinks straight in and doesn't feel greasy or sticky. I love using natural oils, this one is up there with my favorites.

I'm extremely picky about my moisturizers, but this one has exceeded my expectations. I bought it on a whim while I was in need of a better winter moisturizer, and admittedly I didn't read much about it until AFTER I bought it. Based on some of the reviews on here, I was worried this may be a waste of money, or that the "results" would be imaginary. But after using this to moisturize my face morning and evening for about 3 weeks solid, I am so impressed!!

When I first got this, I used it sporadically and really didn't care to use it all the time because I didn't see any instant results which I know is what we all want. Well, finally I decided to use this and nothing else so I could find out once and for all if it did anything for me. It's only been about 2 or 3 weeks, and just tonight, I noticed in amazement how clear and even my skin looked in the bathroom mirror after washing my face. Usually I try to avoid seeing myself close up in the mirror in my bathroom because the lighting sucks and it makes me feel like crap! But this time, I couldn't see any spots, none of my old acne scars, nothing!

This may not work as well for you as it has for me. I have super sensitive skin but it never broke me out. We are all different. But I strongly recommend at least giving this a good try! And remember you should try it for at least a couple weeks before giving up on it!

I discovered this product about 3 years ago and started using it to fill in pitted acne scars. It's not a miracle product but it does work. My scars have gone from deep to shallow but I guess will never be totally gone. They are greatly improved so I can't complain. I thought that once my scars improved I'd go back to a regular moisturizer but I'm sticking with my Silkia. Within three days of first using it, I ran into a guy I've known for years and he kept saying Wow, you look great! I mentioned to a coworker and she said my skin looked really nice. The product hadn't begun to improve my scars yet so the improvement must have been the hydration. Since I've been using Silkia I've switched from full coverage foundation to a sheer one. I haven't worn sheer foundation in ages! All I need now is something to even out my skin tone, my days of having to cover my skin are over. Yay!

I have been experimenting with various carrier oils for the last 6 months and this may be the first I do not recommend for my skin type- dry, thin and sensitive. The box says to massage into face.I never even got that far because it burned and tingled on contact with no major rubbing. My face became red and uncomfortable right away especially under my eyes. I don't know if this is the natural polyphenols or the vitamin C content that is naturally present in this oil that is irritating me or if it is just too acidic for my skin. After reading all the other reviews and considering what happened with me, I think this product is probably more effective for non- sensitive combo leaning towards oily to very oily skin. The box makes alot of claims about the wonder of this product including for acne scarring, wrinkles, gray hair and hair growth in general but at the moment I am afraid to use this for my scalp/hair instead. I will update my final conclusions on this at a later time but just giving the sensitive ladies a heads up. After the irritation I removed it and my face was parched and irritated- not good. This has never happened to me with any other oil. Maybe I can use this once a week as a toner/treatment- we shall see. A little afraid at this point.

UPDATE: After more usage, I've come to realize this crap actually makes my skin more dry somehow. It just doesn't moisturize my skin. How is this possible? IDFK, but it sucks. Will not repurchase. Silia Camelia oil comes in a small spray bottle (pretty light blue packaging, so it looks nice on the bathroom counter). At first I wasn't sure if I liked this or not. I purchased it because I am on Tazorac and my skin gets crazy peely/dry from it...and I needed something super moisturizing. I also do weekly glycolic peels (ebay) so that makes me even more dry. No other moisturizers were cutting it. I have combo skin...super oily on cheeks and chin...and dry around eyes and forehead. Let me just say that somehow, some way, this oil is making my majorly clogged cheek pores less clogged.
I apply it right after a shower at night and massage for a few minutes until it is completely absorbed and it no longer feels oily. My face feels so moisturized afterwards. I haven't noticed a difference of fine lines yet, plus, the tazorac should help with that so I couldn't credit Silkia alone even if I did see a change in lines.
If you are looking for a very decent moisturizer that won't clog pores (and will probably help them become less clogged), choose this. Almost everything clogs my pores, and somehow this doesn't. Love it, will use faithfully and will re-purchase. Recommended for combo skin.

My favorite facial moisturizer! What I like about it is that it's organic, doesn't have a ton of fillers (preservatives, perfumes, colorants, etc), natural, and is so utterly compatible with my skin. Lightly massaging it in to damp skin, right after washing my face, it sinks right in. I was apprehensive about using an oil on my face, but decided to try it anyway and am I glad I did! It has, interestingly enough, normalized my combination skin. My T-zone used to get very oily mid-day, which doesn't happen anymore.

For summer, I only use it at night, but all other seasons I use it both morning and night. My skin just glows and feels like satin.

I recently started using Silkia Camellia oil because I read that it can help fill in scars.
It's too oily for me to use alone as a moisturizer during the day (although it's more of a silky dry oil than jojoba oil, which I also tried but was just too oily under my sunscreen). So now I mix a drop or 2 of the camellia oil in with my moisturizer.
So far, it hasn't broken me out (knock on wood) which is my biggest hurdle with products.
I have oily skin to begin with, but if you've got dry skin and are going for a dewy look, this would probably give you that effect.
I love that it's organic and has nothing added.
UPDATE: I think this might be breaking me out, so I no longer use it on my face. Also, it didn't help with scars, after using if for a couple of months.

Not a bad product. i only used it for 2 days, because i traveled out for a couple days and didn't want to take it with me. but it wasn't greasy, didn't break me out, or irritate my skin. my skin did seem finer. the only thing is that my skin didn't feel as plump as it usually does. then again it was also that time of the month.

Ugh. I bought this and the epidermx after reading the good reviews about how it is supposed to be such an effective way to reduce old acne scars. The first two days were great-although the oil never completely soaked into my skin. Even after "wetting" the oil down in my hands with warm water to dillute it a little.I was so disheartened when the breakouts started. Everyday a few new pimples emerged and they began to come faster. I finally gave up but wanted to continue to use it on my wet hair since I really loved how it made my hair so soft and manageable but then I kept breaking out on my hairline! grrr. What a waste of money.
