This is my first Essie nail polish. It's more of a 75% pink mixed with 25% purple. It's a nice colour on my pale hands. I had it on for about 3 days before I saw the end of one nail start to peel a little bit. I would say you can probably last at least 4 days before the chips become visible and you would need to take it off.

I found the application very streaky at first which is typical of the Essie brand. After playing around with a bit and asking people on the Board, I started applying one thin coat and then one thicker coat. This works well.

Essie puts this colour into their purple category, but I personally would class it as a pink, although it has definite purple undertones. To me, it is a medium pinky purple, with subtle silver shimmer shot through. The colour reminds me of spring and summer flowers, particularly foxgloves and pink clover. It is opaque within two coats and I was very impressed with it's glossiness pre-topcoat. For those familiar with OPI's Japanese Rose Garden, I find Curve Ball to be very similar to this, except a little cleaner and brighter looking (I tend to find JRG a bit muted and dusky). My nails work well with Essie polishes, and this is non-streaky on me and lasts for around 4 days. The formula in my bottle was very runny, and I would prefer it a little thicker, but other than that I really like this polish.

This is a very nice mauvy/pink with a slight shimmer. Its a lovely "every day" pink in my opinion - not too bright, not too sheer, its just right. This would also look great on toes. The application was very smooth and I got good coverage in two coats.

Very pretty! This color is a true mauve pink with purple overtones and slight blue-silver shimmer. This is great for us cool skinned girls, not so much for the tan-dark or warm skin variety. I bet this would look less than flattering on that variety, but works amazing on pale-cool skintones. The only thing I HAAAAATE was the brush that came with this. It made my polish very uneven and streaky. I think I just have a bad brush though. It happens from time to time with the Essie polishes, so they are hit or miss.

I found this little gem in the clearance bin of my local beauty store for only $1.99! It's a very pretty lighter mauve/lilac shade mixed with pink. The formula is on the thinner side so you'll need 2 to 3 coats for good coverage. The wear is excellent- 3 to 4 days without any chipping but I generally change my np color twice a week so I rarely discover the true longevity of any formula. If you are one who likes to keep your tips and lips in the same color family, this shade pairs incredibly well with Chanel Aqualumiere in Bahamas or Chanel Glossimer in Pink Ribbons.

The color doesn't work that well on my nails, but it's streak free and lasts a long time.

Very pretty, I am surprised that this polish doesn't get more attention. Curve Ball is an opaque, girly, medium-toned, barely mauvey pink with slight silver shimmer. If you are a pink fan, you should try this.
