from all the colors in the holiday 2009 set, this was my 2nd fav. I love the nude colors. Love the scent as well vanilla

To me, Poetic License is the equivalent of a less frosty, shimmerless Prr. I love this gloss as an alternative to a nude lip. It is sticky, as most MAC lipglasses are, but it is beautiful, so I overlook the sticky factor. It has a doe foot applicator, which is fine if you are applying a single coat over bare lips, but a brush would be nice if you wanted to use this to amplify a cool nude such as Myth. Definitely one of MAC's must have glosses.

This is a great taupe/pink on my pigmented lips. Love the shine (without sparkly particles) the formula gives me and the applicator wand. Just brush it on and do not rub your lips around with this on. The color just stays on for hours if you apply and treat it right.

I like this color for a conservative day look. It does look great over other lipsticks which gives it some versatility but I wouldn't wear this for a night look.

Beautiful lipgloss, very pigmented. I just hate it when my long hair sticks to it.

This is a really nice nude lipgloss. It has no shimmer, sparkle, sheen, etc. Its just a flat cream nude. It has a pinky tinge to it which it quite nice. This is a good lipgloss to just slick on and go or to pair with a dramatic smoky eye.

Really cute nude shade! It has no shimmer or sparkle to it, it is simple a matte nude-coral-ish shade. More on the nude side than coral clearly. Really pretty shade for those who want something nude but a bit different than their usual shade of nude! Really flattering, yet I am a fan of the shimmery colors most of the time!

I also recv'd this in the 2009 Holiday Collection and, contrary to the previous reviewer, I found this one to be my favorite! This is the *perfect* nude for me- even better than my #1 Lipglass, C-thru! I wish this shade was not LE, though! This has a bit of peachy-pink to it that blends perfectly with my skintone (NW20). If MAC ever repromotes Poetic License, I will definitely repurchase!

This lipglass makes my lips look super full! It looks like I have a plumping gloss on, but without that nasty bee sting. As always, it has MAC's trademark vanilla cake batter scent which is fabulous. I wore this over a flesh toned lipliner all over my lips today and it is truly beautiful. It is a milky peachy nude color and looks fantastic with the dramatic eyes I wore today.

I'll be honest--I bought this lip glasses solely for the name *gasp* LOL, I'm an aspiring writer/poet, so I got a bit excited when I saw this one was called Poetic License. I'm really not a fan of the product itself, though...it goes on a pale, milky pink that makes me look washed out (i.e., dead). This lip glass tends to settle in all the fine lines of my lips too :( This will teach me to buy things based on their names alone! LOL

My perfect nude:) has a tinge of pinky peach in it to counteract the deadness that some light nudes can give :) in love with this lip gloss!! Looking for more of them! creamy and vanilla-ey:)

i got my makeup done at the mac counter for my sister's wedding in nov 05 they paired it with high tea and spice lipliner it looked ok but i wasn't in love with the milkiness. i kept trying it out every once in a while to see if i liked it but still i hated it and regretted purchasing it. then i read the reviews on here and people love it! i give it another try over lip balm and it goes on smoothly, milky but not visibly milk (if this makes sense), a beautiful slightly pink nude color, gorgeous! so now i'm in love with it :)

I didn't get a hint of peach at all. I'm MMM and this looked like a light milky nude with the tiniest, tiniest hint of pink. Took awhile for me to get used to it, but it's an alright color.

Unfortunately, I have to echo curlylocks' review on this. By now, I should really learn that I cannot pull off nude lips. As great and sexy as they look on many MUAers, nude lips just wash me out, and Poetic License is no exception. While it's a nice milky peachy-pink nude in the tube, it goes on horrendous on me. My usual pigmented lips just blend in with my face and I look like a walking corpse. I also can't distribute the colour evenly -- it goes on splotchy and settles into the fine lines of my lips. I love MAC Lipglasses but this colour just isn't for me. I swapped it away.

I love this l/g sooo much! Its the perfect peachy nude on me! It has enough pink not to look flat on my fff skin. It's also not to milky or pale-it doesn't wash me out-i can wear it with neutral eyes or do the smokey thing. I wish it wasn't LE, because Underage which is a pink milky color did not work on me and Florabundance which is peach milky looked too pale for me! Oh well I will enjoy this tube while it lasts! Also love the light scent!

Sorry to ruin the great reputation this has on MUA, but it just looked horrible on my NW20 skin. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and relatively fair skin and it just washed me out. Looked like a 60's go go dancer with a mod look. Maybe the rest of my makeup look doesn't go with this pale, opaque peachy pink. I wanted to love it, just didn't work for me. As a whole though, I'm a HUGE fan of MAC lipglasses, they are my HG of lip glosses! Just this color didn't look good on me.

Beautiful lipglass! Poetic License is very similar to Florabundance except it has a hint of pink & the consistency is MUCH better then Florabundance. Poetic License is an opaque, pale peach color w/ a hint of pink. It illuminates your skin when you have it on. I really can't say enough about this lipglass. It is one of my alltime faves now. I'm neutral, NC 30 for reference.

One word: Love. I got Benefit The Gloss in Chaperone when I was at Sephora a while ago. I loved it, but I ran out, and since there is no Sephora where I live, I was sad :'(, but then I found this gloss which is even better then the Benefit one. This one stays on, is a beautiful color, and goes well with heavy eye makeup (I love to wear black liner with my gash shadow). All in all, it's the perfect everyday gloss. If I ever run out, I will absolutly buy it again! <3

Poetic License is a HG nude lip! The color blends much better than Florabundance on my lips. It might be that Poetic License is slightly more pink. Of course, it has that signature yummy vanilla smell! Too bad it's LE.

"Poetic License" is basically C-Thru with a dash of pink, something not entirely unique yet quite attractive if you happen to be passing by the MAC counter. I'm not a *huge* fan of milky glosses, but since MAC is known for breaking preconceived notions, I decided to give this a good home. It's actually quite gorgeous, save for "pale days" where it looks like it might blend right into your skin. If you do wear this, add a good bronzer to your repertoire and apply sparingly or you might look ghostly. Other than that avoidable setback, it's beautiful.
