Dazzling Gold is a warmer scent than Dazzling Silver. dramatic passion flower and fig. It blooms into a composition of exotic orchid, lily and plumeria. The base notes are exclusively warm: highly esteemed tree sorts, sandalwood and vanilla. I don't care for this one at all, they are both very cloying and synthetic.

Over ten years ago, I was first introduced to Dazzling Silver and Dazzling Gold. At that time, I often bought perfumes without properly testing them on my skin. Back then, if it was well marketed, popular and smelled nice out of the bottle or when sprayed on a strip, I was sold. Out of the bottle, Dazzling Silver smelled like the better of the two. I opted for Silver and my best friend/roommate opted for Gold. Sadly, on my skin, Dazzling Silver was cold, sharp and unpleasant. Yet, nearly every day, my best friend would smell so gorgeous wearing her Dazzling Gold. I tested Gold on my skin and it was a most beautiful scent that warmed to my skin quite perfectly. Dazzling Gold is a wonderfully blended, long lasting, lush floral that stands firmly on it's warm, rich base notes. Unlike Silver, Dazzling Gold does not go on sharp at all. It has been a while since I last used this, but I am certain that I would appreciate it even more today than I did years ago. Now, I am aware of what notes work well on my skin and which notes to avoid at all costs! It is rare that a "floral" fragrance wears well on me, but this is a fantastic exception. Dazzling Gold is reasonably priced with great sillage and from my recollection, two sprays lasted at least 10 hours. I would be delighted to have this fragrance in my wardrobe again.

Notes: passion flower, fig, orchid, lily, plumeria, sandalwood and vanilla. Perfumer: Evelyn Lauder. Really beautiful floral. There aren't any fruit notes listed however, I do smell apple in addition to the floral. I took off 1 lippie because I find it to be a touch generic (along the lines of DKNY Be Delicious). Really great smelling fragrance anyways.

I love the smell of dazzling. It smells ellegant and sophisticated. The smell will last a long time, not fade off.

i would not recoment this to anyone unless they collect bottles.
i got this perfume as a gift (my friends know i love perfumes) this one wasnt me at all
it smells like...i cant describe it but its bad!!! it is way too strong
i will say that the bottle is very elagant and it will last throughout an evening...
it wouldnt wash off with anything and i still smelt it on my wrist about 12 hours after applying it. in the time i scrubed my wrists with 3 different kinds of soaps, and took a shower. to make sure i wasnt imagining the smell i had my sister smell my wrist, she confirmed that the bad smell was still actually there.

I tried Dazzling Gold last summer and remember thinking that it was nice enough at the time. I tried it today and thought it smelled like something that Faberge might have made in the 70s or early 80s. First was a strong alcoholic burst of sharp and bright citrus that somehow smells a little 'off'. After about half an hour it changed to a green floral, not bad but nothing remarkable. Almost six hours later, it is still faintly there. At best, this fragrance really seems to be lacking something - it's almost as though there are *gaps* in it where other notes should be. Or maybe it's just my chemistry. I am glad I didn't buy this without trying it once more. No sale, at any rate.

This fragrance is amazing! It may not smell so nice on from the bottle or on a tester strip but once you spray it on, and it's on your skin, the smell is amazing - feminine, elegant and warm!
I've been using this fragrance for more than 10 years and have had many, many people comment that I smell amazing. My hubby loves it on me too, and says it's my smell.
What's unfortunate is that this fragrance has been discontinued in Singapore but when I approached the Estee staff, they managed to help me bring in stock from New York. That's so sweet of them, so now I have several bottles of this stocked up at home.

One of my sisters-in-law gave me a large bottle of Dazzling Gold as a gift for Christmas a few years ago. While I appreciated her thinking of me, Dazzling Gold was a loud, flat, cloying presence that gave my husband (her brother) a searing headache. True confessions? I received it Christmas Day, wore it 12/26 and had it sold on ebay and mailed by 12/29. Anyway, to this day, I keep thanking God that she has not inquired about the whereabouts of that bottle of Dazzling Gold when she comes to visit...

Dazzling Gold has that "apple-y" note that reminds me of Bonne Bell's Eau de Love (which I loved!) from the '70's. Not an HG scent, but still really nice. A good "every-day" rotation fragrance.

i have the solid scent and it's the ONLY estee lauder fragrance i can handle!it's fresh and has a kick of citrus, all the other lauder scents are too bold, too strong, too 80's for me...

This is my HG fragrance- it has become such a big part of me that I can't even imagine wearing anything else! My husband is so in love with this perfume too that he hates anything else I wear just because it's different and, to him, doesn't smell like me. I have worn this as long as I have known him- from sophomore year of college right up to today- almost a full decade!
I also get compliments from people (mostly men, actually) all the time when I wear this!
My only complaints are that I don't think it lasts very long (although maybe layering with lotion would help) and that the top part of the spray tends to leak so you get it on your fingers a lot. I found that out a few times I sprayed the perfume and then ate something afterwards and I tasted it! That may be a function of my current bottle than the perfume though because I don't remember that happening with my first few bottles.
I highly recommend this- so pretty and sophisticated and SEXY!!

I absolutely love this scent, too. It is also my most favorite of my two signature scents, and the sexiest, to me. (My other signature scent is Eternity by Calvin Klein.) For my chemistry, it is feminine and sensual and men (and women) compliment me all the time while wearing it. Unlike other reviewers, I do not have a warm chemistry. I prefer light, cool scents (like Eternity) and I have cool coloring: medium blonde with grey eyes and a medium-light complexion with pink undertones. I would agree that Dazzling Gold is a warmer scent than Dazzling Silver, and I much prefer the Gold even though I typically wear cooler scents. It is also a great everyday scent as it is not too strong yet lasts well into the evening. The packaging is great to me...the bottle is slim and fits well into my fragrance tray without taking up too much room, and is easy to hold and handle. There is one big, big drawback to this scent, however, which is why gave only 4 lippies rather than 5. All fragrance should be stored in a cool, dark place, but this one you need to be especially careful with. I have found this scent to change, negatively, if it is exposed to too much warmth/heat for too long. I always ask how old the bottle is and how it has been stored before repurchasing. I will always repurchase as long as this scent is made!

I love this! It's sweet, not too heavy and very wearable even on hot Malaysian weather.. Would definitely buy this again..

Well i do believe it smells very --um classical, sophisticated, sweet etc. i dont think i'll buy it again. Actually my mom had bought it. I like it but just not enough.

I was surprised to not like this one. It's not a bad or offensive scent at all, but it seems to be to mixed up with so many different things. All I smelled was a gazillion different florals and some fruit mixed in. It's probably my body chemistry, but I wouldn't wear this. I can see it smelling nice on someone who has the chemistry to match it.

I absolutely love this scent. It is my most favorite of all my perfumes. I tried the DS and just didn't like it, but the DG is heavenly. So feminine without being too flowery. It is a very warm scent and works well with my warm chemistry. It is such a special fragrance I save it for occasions such as weddings, Christmas parties, Saturday lunch with the girls, and elegant evenings out. I also wear it in the daytime during the summer when I'm in a mood to be sophisticated.

My signature Christmas fragrance--maybe because my husband bought me this for Christmas but I always associate it with a festive mood. Perfect for a party or a special night out. Very strong so a little goes a long way. Much nicer than Dazzling Silver.

Something in this just doesn't work for me. It may be the fig(I read somewhere it was in the ingredients). DG turns sour on my skin.

I put this on in the mall, walked around caved and purchased it. On the drive home I smelled my wrist and exclaimed "grams" it smells like my grandmother. Now before you accuse me of ageism, my grandmother is hip, goes out every weekend and can dance me under the table, however, she only wears Estee Lauder and Elizabeth Arden (I got her Hypnotic Poison and she loves it wears it all the time now) so that is why it reminds me of her. And even though it is pretty the last thing a girl wants is to smell like grandma.

I got the stick that looks like a lipstick, and the body lotion. It's a nice scent, but it disappears on me and got no reaction from the male of the species. and isn't that REALLY why we wear perfume?
