Smells ok and expected it to work very well as never had a reaction to their products before. Slightly exfoliating and made my skin tingle on application but not great as a cleanser and still had to use a cream to get rid of make up traces. I had the worst reaction to this, what can only be described as burns. My skin on my chin and cheeks turned red and then became irritated. After about an hour it looked as though my skin was starting to bubble. It took 10 days for my skin to calm down and I could not cover up the reaction with make up as make up just settled into the cracks and dry skin. Have not bought any neutrogena products since.

I can't believe it's supposed to be used on a daily basis! I've used that product for about 2 months, and it did nothing but irritate my combination and sensitive skin. Basically I was expecting a product that would gently remove the dirt and oil of my skin everyday and I found myself with an abrasive and harsch product that left my skin irritated and even more prone to breakouts.

So definitely not for you if your skin is sensitive!

This is a ok cleanser, but it does not give that "clean" feeling and it does not keep my acne away. Actually it is very soft and mild. I don't know why they call it exfoliating, but it has extremly small granules that disappear when you work up a lather.

So to me, this is not a good cleanser or a real "scrub". Something in between and without keeping my acne away.

I can use this to remove my makeup (foundation, powder) but that's all....

There are many better products.

Won't repurchase.

works pretty good as your weekly scrub - but i wouldn't recommend for sensitive skin as it can make any red or irritated areas worse
don't think it did much to help with clearing my skin - but then i don't think anything ever will!

Although it is gentle , I found out, it doesn't clean properly because I always feel a little oily on my nose after use.
EDIT: I think it contains alcohol and menthol which makes it smell so strange.

I have combo skin, and this seriously mattifies your skin, for me it was a bit too much, but if that is what you need, then this is the product for you, and the great thing about this product is that it lasts forever, you just need the litttlest big for your face, a little goes a LONG ways. And it did nice things for my pores, can't be the price.

I've been using this wash for about six months now. It does seem to keep my hormonal spots to a minimum. Sometimes I leave it on for a few minutes and use it as a mini-mask.

I think it could be drying my skin a little bit - but most acne products do so it's probably not unique to this one.

Overall it's an inexpensive product that I can run down to the store and grab when I need more so I will keep using it.

i love this product i use it as an exfoliator every 3 or 4 nights just before bed and when i wake up in the morning my skin looks clearer and fresher i like that its gentle becuase my skin cant handle harsh products ii just love what it does for my skin great product !!

this has done wonders for clearing up my blackheads and my unruly skin - people have been commenting that my skin is looking its best in months.
my only gripe is i find it quite drying on my skin so i've had to cut down my usage to every other day and religiously moisturise after use.
overall though i really would recommend this.

My skin still breaks out whilst I'm now at an age where I have to deal with lines and wrinkles too. This keeps my break outs under control yet doesn't over dry other areas, I use it daily in the shower.
Gentle foaming wash with tiny scrub beads that don't dissolve, pleasant smell and easy to wash off. I've been repeat buying this for years. For my skin this is one of the best skin care products I've found, keeps it smooth clear and fresh, I really notice a differance if I stop using this.

I LOVE IT XD! It helps prevent HEAVY break out (i can't help my break outs becuase of the time of the month) and helps clear my spots very fast!! i love it!!

This wash did the job for me and prevented my blemishes only thing is ... I can't find it on the shelves anymore! (canada) instead I see the 2 in 1 version replacing it and I want the original back! the witch hazel in this product did the job.

LOVE! this is a basic micro bead cleanser with salicylic acid: not as harsh as benzoyl peroxide, perfect for everyday. like the other reviewers said, this removes makeup and oil. one of the best features, i think, is that this is an anti-blemish wash designed for normal to combo skin. which is perfect for me! i have alright skin but sometimes, at the worst possible moment, a red patch pops up! most acne products are designed for oily skin.

i will continue to buy, especially at such a good price.

the only con is that you need about a nickel size dollop to cover your face, but with my shiseido cleanse i need a little half-a-pinkie-nail size dollop to cover my face and neck.

Love, love, love this wash as it removes all traces of dirt and makeup, it may not perform miracles but it is consistent in keeping my face spot free and fairly even toned.

Best cleanser ever. It gets rid of every last trace of makeup and dirt and leaves my skin really soft and smooth. There's also no film or buildup remaining on my face after using this one...The Visibly Clear line of Neutrogena just rocks IMO. All the products contain salicylic acid and they REALLY do help with clogged pores and blackheads (I don't have acne). Sometimes my skin peels, but this wash removes all the dead skin without drying it out. During the day I get less oil on my face and makeup goes on smoother and stays on longer.
TIP - use a face brush with this cleanser (bought mine at Rossmann, medium-hard bristles), and massage all over your face for a few minutes (especially T-zone). This will loosen up blackheads and clogged pores so they will be super easy to extract later.

I bought this stuff because it was cheap, I was away from home and I couldn't find my usual wash. it's... ok. It cleans and has really small exfoliating beads so it doesn't scratch too much, but I didn't think it was any better than any other facial wash I've used.

I recently bought this product, and i have to say that it is one of the best cleansers that i have ever gotten (so far). It has gentle exfoliating beads, it helps with my acne, and i love the smell. Hopefully it doesn't end up like most of the cleansers i buy- in the garbage!!

When I bought this I was pretty desperate. After more or less suffering from mild-mediocre acne for about 4 years (i'm 16 now) I decided to give this a try hoping that it wouldn't make my skin worse. But it exceeded all my expectations!
I'd always had the problem that although my skin is acne-prone, it's still surface-dry, but this product doesn' dry my skin too much so the makeup doesn't flake off :)

I warmly recommend this!

My friend got me this cleanser as part of a bucket of stuff for my birthday because i was complaining about clogged pores on my forehead and nothing seemed to get rid of them - and i've tried TONS of products, Proactiv included. This cleanser is AMAZING! Within two weeks my forehead is now totally clear! My skin tone is completely even as well - I LOVE NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR! Cheap, over the counter, and it WORKS! I'm a long term sufferer of clogged pores in general and this exfoliating wash has done wonders. By the way, i'm 24 yrs old, T-zone oily, normal on the cheeks. I definitely recommend this to any girl, or guy for that matter, that is dealing with the same issue as i was!! :-)
