I brought the ELIXIR lifting emulsion I for my oily/acne prone skin. I think it's a great moisturizer even in the humid summer.

PROs:
- evens out my skin tone really well.. my acne scars are less visible
(after 4 weeks of every day use)
- my pores are less visible
- doesn't clog my pores or irritate my skin

CONS:
- i am not too crazy about the scent

overall, I highly recommend this moisturizer ( ELIXIR emulsion I, not II <-- it's too heavy for oily/acne prone skin in the summer). It really evens out your skin and reduces the look of pores. money well spent!

Can't get this in Singapore so got my friend to buy it from Japan. Have used this for the last 2 years and now I got my husband hooked on it as well! He absolutely loves how it hydrates his skin as it can get flaky sometimes. He uses it after shaving and he claims it gives him baby smooth skin! Now he's thrown away all his other men's skin care. If they could make it a pump bottle would be better.

I got this as sample when I bought some make up at a Japanese store. After I used the sample I noticed my skin was smoother. I immediately went out and bought this product and I love it. I use it with the Elixir cleanser, toner, and this moisturizer. It's light and it doesn't cause me to break out. Definitely an HG moisturizer for me.

I love this stuff. I actually use the "I" (not II...because I have oily skin), but call me crazy, I really do feel like it firms my skin. I don't think you can get this stuff every where, I've only seen it in Asian stores, but it moisturizes really well. The only thing I don't like is that there's no SPF and I don't know if there are other products in the Elixir line that have SPF, so I only use it at night and I use the Skincare products in the morning.

I use this lotion in conjunction w/ the Elixir softener and essence, and all three have made the blackheads on my nose disappear. At first, I thought this was too greasy/heavy for me, and I wanted to get the "fresh" version for oilier skin types, but the SA noted I had dehydrated surface skin. Using the entire system not only moisturizes and makes my skin feel soft and supple, but it seems to give me a glow, and who doesn't want that? ;)

This is a good moisturizer but in my opinion, too oily. I only use this at night since it is so oily and leaves my skin kind of sticky (maybe because it's approaching summer?). This does hydrate the skin very well and therefore is a good night cream for me since i dont have particularly dry skin. This gets the job done.

Overall a okay product but I will not be repurchasing since I have tried other moisturizers that work just as well or better (Elizabeth Arden Perpetual Moisture 24 Lotion). If your skin is more to the dry side, I would recommend this product especially in the winter time but this doesnt really feel good for people with combo-oily skin since it is sticky.

I received generous samples of this and the toner (softening lotion?) with a recent Shiseido purchase. This is a scented, milky emulsion that I used for about 1.5 weeks after applying the toner from the same line. While it was moisturizing, I use this as a step in my skin care regimen, as not as a moisturizer in itself. I still need to apply a night cream afterwards in order for my skin to be fully hydrated, but I do have to say this has made a noticeable difference in my skin - my coworkers have complimented me on the glowiness of my complexion. I would have preferred that this be unscented but overall this product is a hit in my book.

This is my favorite moisturizer for the night. Just a little bit goes a long way in moisturizing my face. I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts if I apply anything that is too heavy, but this emulsion is perfect. It's light enough that it doesn't make me oily but moisturizing enough that my face feels great, even in the winter months. Great product!

Great moisturizer for winter. It's a little oily for my T-zone, but is just right for my dry cheeks. I've used for 4 months now, no break out or other allergic reaction. The weather is getting hotter, I may need to use a lighter one. It's abit pricy too, but last quite a while, although i have used it for 4 months, i still have more than 1/3 left. However.......I don't see any lifting effect ? and I don't see any change in complexions or brightening or shrinking pores. It just doesn't improve your skin quality, but it's great in moisturizing w/o breaking you out.

I have been relying on the Elixir line for years and while I keep different moisturizers on hand, this one is still the most used. It keeps my skin soft and hydrated, works equally well for both day and night and works wonderfully well with make up. I just need the smallest amount of product to cover my entire face. Highly recommended!

It's a bit pricey but the emulsion helps my skin feel very hydrated and not too oily.

I use the entire Elixir combo of Cleanser/Softner/Emulsion (no Toner, it's too drying for me) and I wrote a detailed review of the wonders of it in the 'Cleanser' section. Suffice to say, after MANY trials and the resulting errors of all those other recommended 'great' cleanser products out there that only either made my skin too dry or break out, I have found the solution for me. With the Elixir products there are NO break outs, much less redness, no dry patches even in winter, more even skin tone and less noticable bumps and scars. My ornery skin LOVES this stuff. I wIll be a lifelong customer. The higher price is well worth it because I spend less on experimenting and wasting money on junky products and wear less makeup now. AND I get compliments on my skin!

this is my HG moisturizer for my skin. for the past 3 or 4 years my skin always kept breaking out and i thought it was from my neutrogena oil free acne wash. so i kept switching cleansers trying everything out there and nothing worked. so i thought in addition to the wash i had to use treatments and masks.. and all that.. which in the end just messed up my skin even more and led me to buy foundations that would make my face look cakey and all that. and this whole time i never switched my MOISTURIZER. my other neutrogena oil free moisture for combo skin wasn't hydrating enough!! while i was drying out my skin this whole time, it needed moistuire and i didn't even think about it. so after suffering for the last 4 years.. my skin has finally almost gone back to itself.. but now i have scars that have to heal. therefore after using only 2 weeks of this, my skin on my forehead (my problem area) is bump/pimple free!!! can't believe it.. and now i'm just waiting for the area between my eyebrows to clear up a bit. i love this product. and also the elixir II softener does wonders as well.. it just makes my skin feel cleaner,, and doesn't feel stripping like toners.

UPDATE: 3/21/09 : i have been using this moisturizer for the past four years! wow i came back to this post i saw how long its been. it still works amazingly and most recently i tried the wexler anti aging starter kit to try to get a glowly complexion but the kit just messed up my skin. i'm going back to my HG shiseido elixir line!
