I can't believe I haven't written review for this little palette yet. Four colors, each one unique. There is a dark smoky, forest green, a silvery, cool taupe, a deep smoky purple with very small multi colored shimmers and a soft beigey gold with very little shimmer.
After applying primer from lash to lid, I used the green on the lid, the taupe in the crease and the gold on the brow bone. Blending a little of the purple into the crease with the taupe and smoke it out. Alternatively, I will use the purple on the lid and I really love it either way.

I'm not a huge eyeshadow fan but lately I've really been craving a really nice, dark purple shade. The Body Shop I went into had 2 other cubes with purple shadows and a single shadow. This purple, Blackforest Gateaux, was definitely the gorgeous-est(?). It's a dark shimmery purple that works really well for a smokey eye. It's especially eyecatching when I use it wet.
I also find myself using the Pecan Pie and Creme Caramel often. These are respectively, a grayish-brown shimmer and nude shimmer. Mint Slice is also a pretty shade (dark green) but I really only like the way it looks applied wet.
The lasting power is so-so. I can't use these without a primer but that might be because I have really oily eyelids. Oh, and I didn't buy these on sale, so it took a sizeable chunk out of my wallet.

Found this on the after-Christmas clearance table for $4. A BARGAIN compared to the quality of the product. Each color is packaged in its own plastic cube with a lid, and all four are contained in a square plastic box.
I love that it's a solid block of pigment. It glides on smoothly, and you can apply lightly for a shimmery wash or heavier for a deeper, richer color. The cubes can be used for day or nighttime wear, and what's best is since each is in its own cube, one can fit in your pocket and you can take it along anywhere.
You can apply it with your finger for a sheer look, a sponge, or a wet liner brush for really intense color.
The staying power is incredible, and a little goes a long way. Will definitely repurchase in different colors!

Great winter colours to match anything.
A deep green, a greyish purple, a dark taupe and a perfect beige. I love the beige, it is always a perfect chimmery base. The colurs are all slightly pigmented, but buildable. Sheer enough for a light wash of daytime colour, shimmery enough for a dramtic evening effect. I got it on sale for 4$$!!
May need to buy some more...my new favorite eye-shadows!!

The shimmery aspect of these little cubes of colour is great! They have a tiny, finely milled shimmer that is very noticeable yet appropriate enough even for daytime looks.
Mint Slice is a darkened shimmery teal, Blackforest Gateaux is what I would call a grayed shimmering purple, Crème Caramel is a beige-nude shimmer (awesome base and highlighter!) And Pecan Pie is a grayed shimmery (borderline frosty) brown. All the colours look splendid together and the soft texture of these Shimmer Cubes allows them to blend like silk on my eyelids.
Great buy!

This caught my eye yesterday when I stopped by Body Shop on Oxford Street. It has the most beautiful green eye shimmer I have ever seen. And I'm a sucker for green eye shadow. It does something to me. So even though I wasn't on planning to buy any make-up for a while (I've had to hide this one from my sister), I ended up buying this one anyway. I have tried all four shades, and am really pleased as they are not too perley, if oyu know what I mean, but there is this nice, vibrant but subtle colour on your lids. And as opposed to the older ones, I find it easier to apply too. This is definitely a winner!

I have been buying the Shimmercubes for several years now and love them. I am glad The Body Shop is finally numbering them! #10 came out in 2005. Also listed as the Autumn/Winter cubes online. Released Fall 2005. It has Mint Slice, Creme Caramel, Blackforest Gateaux and pecan pie. The colors are a dark purple they is much sheerer than it looks, a dark green, a beigey shimmer and a brownie taupe that is also sheerer than it looks. All are quite shimmery. Although this palette isnt as pigmented as the past several years, the shades are still pretty and glide on smoothly. They now retail for $17.50 each and four individually packed shadows in a clear acrylic square case.

This shimmer cube is beautiful! All four shades are very shimmery, well- pigmented and have a nice texture. For a more intense color, use the shadows wet. The colors are a light gold, smokey teal, blue/greyish purple (kinda of reminds me of MAC Whim), and a silver/brown taupe. All are wonderful colors. It costs $17.50 but if you have a TBS discount card it is 10% off. Definitely check this one out.

OK, they finally did a shimmer cubes palette that suits my PPP complexion and green eyes. And surprise - they also look great on my friend's darker complexion.
In the past, I'd looked at TBS's other shimmer cube palette, and none of them thrilled me. And until last week, I'd only poked my finger at the display demos, so I thought they were dry, cakey cubes of sparkle. I was so wrong! Nice girl in shop pulled out the make-over case and I got to try them on my eyelids with a clean brush. Low and behold, the cubes go on smoothly and the shimmer is subtle enough for daytime wear and more mature skin. Compared to TBS's single-shade "eye shimmers" (which I still adore!), the cubes have more visible color and less visible shimmer. And I think the cubes actually blend better, too.
I hope they do more palettes like this. Previous ones were bronze/pink/mauve tones, which I just don't wear. This new palette is cooler-toned, and even the pinky-taupe "Pecan Pie" cube is surprisingly nice. The "Mint Slice" cube is VERY similar to TBS's "Peacock" shadow, which I wear every day. I got them home and discovered that a wet brush makes them the color and shimmer-factor very bold. FYI - "Mint Slice" and "Blackforest Gateau" are great as color eye-liners when applied wet.

This is a hit colorwise from the body shop when it comes to the combination and choices of shadows in the shimmer cube palettes. This time the colors are a bit more bold, daring and clear, without being overwhelming, compared to the most recent releases of the shimmer cubes. The green/blue or petroleum colored cube can seem a bit scary in the little box but with the signature smooth texture and the fact that these shadows seldom are overly pigmented the color looks really pretty even on pale complexions with blue eyes once you dare trying it on. The other shades are a misty greyish brown color that goes on lighter than one might expect, a light golden color that is a very pretty highlighter and a dark puple tone also with a slight touch of grey making it pleasingly versatile and clear in color, not being too dark or too misty.
Overall I can't compliment these palettes enough. I have found myself buying several of them over the years and have come to think that the shimmer cubes are simply some of the best eye shadows out there. And here is why; The texture of these shadows is outstanding! They are powdered shades, but probably through the use of Marula oil they almost behave like cream shadows. And this is really pleasing for anyone with dry eylids since they have a smoothing effect giving a result that is almost impossible to achieve unless you are 16 years old with a skin smooth as a baby. Even older women that has stopped using shimmery colors because of their sometimes ageing effect can definately give these a try! And the staying power is amazing! They last throughout the day or night no touch up necessary. Used wet the colors intensify, and many of them make great eyeliners, the texture becomes creamy and dense making the application easy and foolproof. The size of each shadow makes them, as many here have already stated, good value for the money. Almost too good... I can't imagine finishing one single cube during a lifetime of use. And I also like the packaging, since when you have more than one palette you can easily create your own color combinations for travels for instance. The only downside I think is that the range of colors, viewing the palettes released over the years, sometimes have been a bit too similar. There are many browns with almost unnoticible differences, same goes with purples, pinks and golds. And all of them are shimmery. No matte and almost not even any semi matte colors have found it's way into a palette. But if you are looking for eyeshadow with great staying power and with a rare and amazing smooting effect on the lids then the shimmer cubes are it.
