The primer is lovely. The way it glides to your skin so effortlessly is absolutely stunning. While wearing the primer underneath my foundation, it gave me a more steadier surface to work with. It literally smoothened out my skin. The only thing I was concerned about was thinking how fast it would run out. Since the primer had been squished in a small opaque tube, it was hard to predict how much of there was left. Surprisingly it was sufficient for an entire five months as an every day usage except for weekends and exceptional holidays.

This stuff is really bad. I got one which had "New and improved formula" sticker on it and is meant for oily-combination skin (like I have).
This primer does not keep my foundation in place at all. I even think it is making my foundation staying power even worse. Sometimes I notice that my foundation cakes because of this primer (it sort of separates the foundation on my skin if it even makes sense). My face gets oily within 1-2 hours. I also tried to apply this on top of my foundation which makes no difference. It even broke me out on my forehead giving me little bumps.
Consistency of this primer is strange. It feels like silicone-based product and is a bit crunchy when rubbing between your fingers.
I would not purchase it again or recommend it to anyone. I still have whole tube left and I have no use for it because it is terrible.

This primer is very light and goes on smoothly, levaing my skin extremely soft! I really love how it makes my skin look matte and the way it feels, and it provides a great base for foundation etc. It doesn't make me look cakey, but it doesn't do much for the makeup, except it might stay on a tiny bit longer. One thing I find that this primer is really good for though, is to apply in the morning when you're planning to go "au naturel", because of the amazing, baby-soft and matte finish it has! :) I can't stop touching my face then, haha..

This is a great primer its inexpensive and very effective. It gives me smooth, glowy skin and it is not heavy and extends the stay of my foundation throughout the day, and most of all it does not break me out.
I have tried Smashbox's primer and it worked just as well as this but it broke me out. I hightly recommend this primer, its effective and does not cause any cystic like breakouts like many primers can cause.

A pretty good primer that I use every time under my make up. I still wouldn't buy it again but just because I want to buy a new primer (the pink one) from Lumene.

It makes my foundation go on smoothly but my skin becomes oily within a couple of hours.....
It also makes me look a bit cakey :(
Will not recommend this to anyone.

I expected more from this product than I got.
I bought it because it said it reduces oil, and that's something I always get in the summer. The first time I tried it, I just had powder over it. I thought it was great! I played volleyball for 5 hours, and hadn't a trace of the usually oily look. I also thought applying the powder went smoother.
Then i tried this under my foundation, and got another result. The foundation looked smooth on my forehead, where I have almost invisible pores, but the rest of my face looked really cakey. My face also got really oily, really fast with the foundation over, and the foundation actually slid off some parts of the face, which I've never had problems with before.
One plus is that this product doesn't smell. I could describe the scent as maybe a little like Vaseline, but barely smells anything. It also goes on really smooth, and makes my skin feel soft.
So, I would say that this may work for someone who wears nothing/a powder over, but this does NOT work under foundation. I also think that maybe this is like some other Lumene products, that their foundation may work better with this product, but I don't know. Would be nice if anyone could tell about their experience if they've tried this.

I really had some high hopes for this primer after reading all the great reviews here about it, and to be honest; I'm not impressed after finally buying it. This "primer" did nothing! I didn't experience any breakouts with this one though, but instead of reducing the shine and making my skin look matte, it only added a greasy layer so I looked shiny within 2-3 hours. Sad to disappoint, but I'd rather wear no primer at all then this.

I only have used this product few days and I already see the difference. Usually when I see myself in the mirror I shine so much, I have oily skin but today after running around all day I found myself looking matte in the mirror. No shining spot in the face at all. And I only used the Primer, I did not put foundation on it. It is really funny to apply it because you dont know where you have put it on and where not, because its color is transparent. I am going to try it with foundation and then write about that. what came to me as a suprise was that its a really small bottle. I wish it were bigger.

This does help with shine troughout the day but as I have acne prone skin, I have dry pathes which this product seems to make more dry. So I usually use the crystal radiance primer (same brand) to give me a little moisture. But on days I know I'll be extra shiny--this is the product to use.

I won't repurchase this product. i am surprised at the good reviews it gets here.
I've always wanted a good primer to make a difference in my makeup. because in the city where i live there are no good primers available except for the Smashbox (which i am not exceptionally willing to try...too many bad reviews)...so i decided to take the plunge and purchase this one.
i am satisfied only with the natural ingredients.
i don't think it is a 'bad' product so i didn't rate it as 'worst'. it simply doesn't do anything for my skin.
my face is shiny within 3 hours from the makeup application, and i think it's because of the primer, too oily. i know primers give this first impression once you've applied them, but it goes away...at least that's what the Smashbox does. this one doesn't act this way.
basically if you don't use it for a week let's say the oils in the product will separate and once you try applying it you're gonna get a gross oily discharge out of the tube...then the product. disgusting.
it smells pretty nice, a faint smell of flowers and powder i think. it's okay with me to smell like sh*t as long as it does what it says....
this is the thing, that it doesn't. so i usually don't have an oily face unless after 8 or 10 hours. this stuff makes my face glow with greasiness in 3-4 hours.. i tried using it all over my face, including eyelids. maybe on the eyes it worked, surprisingly, i remember my lids looked a bit better than without primer. but that's it.
the biggest complain i have about this product is that somehow transforms the foundation. it never happens to me to have areas that look gross. this product does it, around my nose, where there are expression lines and larger pores, i get this foundation clogging that looks simply horrendous...and cakey, and i look like i am 85 years old.
it makes the foundation settle into the fine lines and everything in between...basically i look worse with it on the face than without.
but one little thing- makes the makeup last longer in physical terms. though shiny and disgusting, doesn't fade at all on the face or the cheeks (we ladies tend to kiss other girls on the cheeks when we meet them, etc, or when kissing out boyfriends, etc, the makeup tends to fade very quickly). The Lumene primer makes it stay...and look terrible and shiny and gunky and GROSS.
so i had developed a strategy. i am going to wear this only at night, when i go out or meet my boyfriend lol. in semi-darkness one can't see the pores and stuff and the makeup will last longer. and in the morning, before he wakes up, i can put fresh foundation on and tra-laaa! :))))
i am serious, this stuff didn't work for me. i don't have major problems. i have good skin, except for large pores. i get a zit once a month, IF i get it. and moderately dark undereye circles. forgot to add, this stuff makes my powder cake like hell under my eyes, in the lines....brrr.
NEVER going to purchase again. maybe i'll give smashbox a try or get a more expensive one...10 euros (thats how much i paid for it) + another 10 euros+maybe 5 or 7= a giorgio armani primer?? maybe...who knows.

Amazing stuff!
It's the first face primer I ever used, so I wouldn't know if there's anything better out there, but I've been using it for a few months and I don't feel like trying a different brand anytime soon.
It makes my skin feel extremely soft, and my foundation really lasts longer, without getting too oily even when it's really hot outside.
My only complaint is that I can't really see where this stuff is going when I put it on, because it's transparent and it blends in so easily.

well, I'd give it 3.5 lippies, not 3. I don't know if this was discontinued or not, but it was my first primer ever and it did a good job...prevented shine under my makeup, went on with a velvet-y feel, kept my makeup on. If I ever find it again I'm totally buying it. The only thing is, it doesn't spread that easily which can be kinda annoying, I always feel like I have to squeeze more out than I have to get it to go on, but overall it's a decent primer. Can ball up though when applying makeup so be careful.

This is my first primer and I don't use it every day, so I am still working on it. It makes a huge difference with my face! Even without foundation it cuts down on oil majorly and gives my skin a smooth matte finish. With foundation, the result is amazing. It does not clog my pores. If you use too much in one area it will sort of clump off when you are rubbing it so make sure to do that before applying foundation or the foundation will get messed up too. It's a cheap light primer and I would definitely get it again.

I love this! I've been looking for a way to get the perfectly blended and airbrushed look to my blush which for some reason often shows has a demarcation line. I don't like the idea of using primer or anything that clogs my face unnecessarily so I apply it to my cheek area, wait a minute and then brush on my blush. It goes on incredibly smooth. For this purpose alone I love it.

This is my first face primer. I have oily skin and primarily wanted something to make my mineral makeup last longer.
On thing about application: it's weird putting it on because it disappears on your face when you rub it in, and you have no idea where there is a lot and where there is none.
Got the job done? I didn't notice a big difference in staying power of my MMU, but it did help keep my face a little less visibly oily.
+ The price is alright
+ It did reduce shine.
+ The package is a tube which is very practical.
- No difference in staying power.
- It's got an ugly package.
- Even application?
I wouldn't rebuy because I'm sure there are other better products that I'm going to try.

I love it! I'm new to primers, and I wear mineral makeup. This makes the makeup last so much longer, and mostly gets rid of the itching I get from the minerals.
I also use Bare Escentuals' Prime Time and I find them to be equal in quality. Both have great packaging, easy to use. Lumene is half the price of BE, and available in drugstores, so it's the definite winner.

This is very similar to Smashbox primer in my opinion, but a little lighter, so I prefer it. This seems to be a little easier on my clogged pores. The tube packaging is very nice and I can get this at my local CVS.

I've been using this for about a month now, under a variety of foundations formulations. I think this base works best with powder foundations, it's particularly good under MMU of all kinds, it seems to really give the minerals a ton of staying power.
It also is GREAT for cutting down on oil throughout the day. I typically get oily in the middle of my forehead by around noon but with this primer I'm matte all day long.
I took off one lippie because it seems to aggravate a dry sensative patch of skin I have currently right above my right temple. Probably wouldn't bother most people but this piece of skin has been very sensative for about a week.
Overall a fantastic primer for little money!

I love this. I'm on my 2nd tube, with a 3rd for backup. I use Monistat gel on my entire face, but use Lumene's base under my eyes and inner eye corners. I have used this over my entire face with wonderful results but use Monistat on my face to save money, as it gives the same results. Also, since the Monistat wasn't created for facial use, I play it safe and use Lumene around my eyes. My mineral concealer (Alima, applied with a very slightly dampened foundation brush [ELF's]) smooths over my skin like silk, and the combination gives me COMPLETE coverage! I have oily skin and my face perspires like mad in the summer (I'm sure my age & hormones contribute to this condition as well!) and I NEVER reapply foundation, only blot with Clean & Clear blotting papers. Over large-pored areas (my nose), I kind of press this into my skin, then apply foundation (again, Alima mmu). I'm hooked....love the sanitary tube, easy to carry when traveling; same with the eye base (though I do cut the tip a bit so the product comes out easier). TRY THIS!!!
