I absolutely love this powder and am on my fourth container. The colour is a soft banana yellow, the texture finely milled. I use a kabuki blush to apply it over Colorstay Sand Beige (normal/comb) foundation, I lightly shake the powder into the lid and do several pick ups to get a nice even coverage. Lasts all day (from 6.30am - 7.00pm) on most of my face, but I do a quick touch up on my t-zone about 3pm. I don't bother with the powder puff it comes with & think it is a bit of a waste as it would not do this powder justice if it were used to apply it. I think it would not cover up red that well in its own, but definitely think the soft yellow brightens and evens the colour on my face over concealer or foundation. I can't stand pink or orange toned powders on my skin and this works perfectly for me.

This powder has a fine texture and a yellow tint. My skin is olive, so a little yellow goes a long way. That's why I mainly use it around my eyes, and near my nose (especially if it's raw from a cold) I find it adds just the right amount of correction to make my eyes look more awake, and my nose less raw. It's not an essential product, as I don't use it every day, but it works nicely, and lasts a long time. I especially love the packaging and the puff that comes with it. The container is very durable and the puff is quite soft and presses into the skin nicely.

Very disappointed with this product. I didn't find that it offered any redness coverage at all.The biggest let down was that it broke my skin out with the most awful cystic acne I've ever had it my life. I still can't wrap my head around it, it was honestly devastating. Before I pinpointed it as the cause of my breakout, I did find that it worked well as an under-eye highlight. Kind of gave that Kim K. bright-eyed look.

I have combination skin with an uneven, rosy skintone so I thought that this product would solve all my problems but unfortunately it didn't.

The texture is quite nice as the powder is relatively silky, but there are better powders and I don't feel this one does what it's specifically meant to do (counteract redness). It makes no difference to my rosy areas as I feel it's too light in consistency. I don't even think it does a particularly good job of controlling shine and I notice no difference in oil control between this and other, less expensive brands of loose powder.

There are others who love this so if you're considering this product, I recommend trying it before buying it as it is expensive and I don't feel it's worth it.

To me this was a total waste of money! I was hoping I could use this instead of foundation since my main issue are red spots from post blemishes. It didn`t tone down the redness of these spots at all, not even a tiny little bit.
It did cover my red winter-nose a bit so I assume it works on big read areas like cheeks or nose but doesn`t help at all with small red spots.
For a simple loose powder it`s also overprized, Clinique also has one I think, don`t know about their prize though.
Obviously I would`t repurchase since my red spots looked exactly the same after applying.

i'm quite a fan of this powder. i have pretty clear skin with some redness in my cheeks. i'm not a huge fan of heavy foundations so i stick to light, sheer coverage ones; just a little bit to even out my skintone, then a light dusting of this powder with emphasis on my cheeks and the redness just vanishes! the finish is lovely too, it's really satiny and smooth without being overly matte, and does a good job of setting my makeup for the day. as with all powders, less (but not too 'less'!) is more. i would definitely purchase again.

I love this, I do not go a day without using it. It's perfect for everyday if I don't want to bother with the concealer/foundation/etc. I have a few issues with redness and this covers it right up! Extremely impressed

I have fair skin with red undertones. I love to use make-up and do fun and dramatic looks on weekends and special occasions ect., but for everyday use I like the more natural look and this powder has become an everyday staple. It is very sheer and light and goes on even. It tones down the red, and gives a nice, soft, slightly glowing finish. I like to use it over a tinted moisturizer. The combination makes your skin look amazing, but also look like you aren't wearing any makeup at all. I also learned that this powder works wonders on under eye circles when you use with a concealer brush. The only reason I gave this product a 4 is the packaging. It is like the Bare Minerals containers and can be messy and sometimes easy to waste.

Tips;
For face, get some powder on the brush ( a big, soft face brush is best). Then swirl the brush in the lid to allow equal distribution, tap off excess. All you need is a light dusting, as a little goes a long way. At first, it may look "powdery" but let it sit for a minute or two and it settles right in and skin looks good and even

For under eye circles, use a concealer brush that is not used for cream or liquid concealers (the powder will stick). Collect powder on the brush, You will use a bit more powder then for the face, but not too much. It is easier to build up then take off. Sweep brush over areas you want to target.

major letdown. no miracles here. hell, no coverage at all. i'm super fair and tend to become very redfaced during well, everything. i bought this before i knew about MUA and girl or guy if youre reading this, don't buy this powder. it just sits at the bottom of my purse serving only as an oil coverup on my nose on hot days. benefit products IMO kind of stink.

I have to say i really dont know if I would rush out and buy this if a ran out, which i doubt will happen any time soon.
I have had this for a couple years now and overall it is a good finishing prodcut that really tones down shine, Is not overly powdery and does give a nice red neutralization. However my skin tone needs more of a luminous airbrushing effect in a finishing powder which this doesnt have.

im not using loose powders very often, because i dont really see the different between not using and using it. im more like an oily skin and after half hour my skin just oil again even after using this powder. And i dont like the design as well, dirty everywhere. wont repurchase.

Reading previous posts, I was concerned that it would also make my skin break out as I have sensitive skin. However - I'm pleased to say it hasn't given me any spots and I love it.

I have suffered for a long time with redness and have finally found a product which covers this up for me. I've tried other brands but haven't found one to beat this. A quick tip I've found is - only remove half of the plastic cover to reveal the holes. I then can control how much I tap out into the lid. When the SA used her tester, the powder went everywhere.

I actually get better coverage dusting my face with baby powder than with this one! I still have almost half left in my make-up case and cant bring myself to throw it away coz of the price factor!! Definitely a no-no for me.

I hate to bring the score of this down as it looked sooooooooooo nice on me - but this broke me out in a matter of HOURS. I have blemish prone skin, but OH MY GOD I cannot believe the damage this caused in only a few hours. If you have really sensitive skin, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease don't use this!!!!!! I will stick to my MAC blot powder.

As the saying goes - if it ain't broke don't fix it!!!

This powder does exactly what it's meant to! I began using it over my foundation as i get red patches over my cheeks but then i tried using it without foundation and it does the same job! Makes my skin look flawless!
THEN i tried a little on my dark circles and it covers then perfectly! Great product and worth the money, I would buy again but don't know if i'll ever need to as there is so much!

I like this product. I use it as a finishing powder after my foundation, and I find it does a really good job in this use. It blends into my skin and takes away all signs of redness. I apply it with my MakeUpForever kabuki brush so that it looks flawless. It's pretty good at controlling oil. I also like the color. Usually loose powders are too white, pink or orange for my skin, but this one is perfect. UPDATE: It is very easy to over-apply this product, resulting in a mask-like effect. Try building in layers if you want more coverage. UPDATE 2: this powder can turn orangy on me. I find myself applying it in the morning and then using a tissue to wipe it off when I get to work. I will now reserve it for the days where I don't wear liquid foundation and I will apply it with the puff. Otherwise, it just looks wrong.

EDIT I threw this crap away. What a joke! It was a mess to use and it really darkened and oxidized on my skin. It also made it terribly oily.

so i finally found a use for my Benefit Bluff Dust :

It was never quite right as a finishing powder (just a bit off, how it sits there), however, it works FANTASTIC as a color corrector to mix into a mineral powder foundation when i need it to be more yellow!

my skin is very olive (yellow-toned) and most mmu are just too pink for me.
So, here's what i did:
I added 1 part of the Bluff Dust into the lid with 3 parts Maybelline's mineral power foundation powder (color 02) and then mixed it together and voila--- the perfect color for my NC20 skin with strong yellow undertones! hooray!!!

i loved the coverage of maybelline's mmu, but the 02 was always wayyyyy too light and pinky and the next one up was dark and orange. So, adding the Bluff Dust was perfect!!! it didn't darken it, but it just added some yellow tones.

blended together, The finish was flawless! much more natural since the mmu is diluted a bit, and the color was very natural looking.

definitely a consideration for those out there who own Bluff Dust!

This isn't a bad product at all, but the reason why I wouldn't buy it again is because I think the Urban Decay mineral powder in "Universal" works much better. I have problems with redness, and often look like I have really pink undertones in pictures. I wanted a yellow powder to help cover it. This one works pretty well, but I just found that the Urban Decay one has a nicer texture and better staying power. I also felt that my skin looked brighter and healthier when using the Urban Decay product. The difference is pretty subtle, and you might love this, but personally I like the other one better. If you want to compare, go to sephora and if you ask for a sample of both and you can see for yourself which works best on your skin.

Bobbi Brown Shade: 5 (Honey)
************************************************
I have patches of red on my cheeks and nose, and a general "My-face-is-on-fire" look due to sensitive skin which is oily (not a good mix!)

I used to use yellow based foundation to counter the redness (like MAC or Bobbi Brown) but unfortunately my favorite foundation of all time is MakeUp ForEvers Mat Velvet+, which is AMAZING for coverage and texture but (this is the unfortunate part) it's not yellow based enough for me, so in pictures I look like I have nice pinkish skin on my face that doesn't go with my yellow tone body.

I used to mix my foundation with MUFEs yellow base, but their yellow base is not the best texture so MAT+ didn't look AS good.

So I searched for a yellow powder on MUA and after reading the reviews of Bluff Dust decided to try it, luckily here in Dubai I discovered we have BeneFit makeup so I purchased it despite the scary lemon yellow color! In this hot climate I prefer powder more than something in liquid form.

I apply a thin layer of Bluff Dust right after moisturising, then my liquid foundation, then another layer of Bluff Dust, then my setting loose powder (Super Matte by MUFE as well) and then if I feel like it, another layer of Bluff Dust, and my skin looks an AMAZING color, no pink or redness and it looks awesome in pictures!

The texture of the powder is really nice and "fluffy" in a way, and I thought it might be too light in color for my skin but it just blends right in! I also use this over my peach concealer of Bobbi Brown for my undereye circles (since you're supposed to use peach to counteract the blue tones of undereye darkness, and then a yellow on top to make it your skin color, but I don't like Bobbi Brown's yellow concealer, it becomes too much concealer) and a light layer of the BluffDust powder brightens up my concealer making my undereyes finally look like they're part of my skin!

So to conclude, I LOVE BluffDust!

After having a strange love/hate relationship with Benefit products for, well, years, I didn't really think Bluff Dust would make the difference for me. I mainly ordered it because I ran out of my EDM "Sunlight" corrector sample and I didn't want to spend that much money on a mineral yellow when I could have a cheaper alternative (cheaper because it contains more powder) in the form of Benefit's Bluff Dust. After checking reviews at several sites, I thought I might give it a try. And thank God I did! I applied it over my tinted moisturizer (cause that's all I use right now) and at first I didn't really see a difference at all. I applied a second, very thin layer and waited for it to settle and voilą! Perfection! I am very surprised and pleased by how well the yellow not only covers redness but basically blends into my own skin. It doesn't look yellow at all. It just leaves a perfect complexion. My pores are almost invisble and its finish is a lovely matte, though I have to admit that it doesn't stay that way all day. My T-zone is wayyyyyyy too oily for that. However, I am perfectly fine with that because I found the ultimate finishing powder for my tinted moisturizer routine. I used to brush translucent powder all over my face and that finish is not nearly as perfect and beautiful as this. I didn't want to believe the hype but it's justified. Also, for the amount you get and for the amount you need, it comes at a reasonable price. I expect to come a really long way with one jar.
