LOVE LOVE LOVE. I bought this Crystal Nail file because I've read nothing but great things about it on the MUA nail board - I bought it for almost $10 at my local beauty store in Granada Hills.
My nails feel GREAT AND SMOOTH after just a few swipes! I've never felt them this smooth before. This really is a great product! Highly recommend.

I was hesitant to purchase this nail file because I tried the Revlon version and it was crap. But I checked the reviews on here and everyone seemed to be happy. I got this on sale for under $9. What a steal! I was going to splurge and go to Sephora, but I'm glad I checked the sale bin at London Drugs.
This file is only one sided but I really don't mind it that much. I find I don't need to wash it after every use, I just wipe it on a ratty, old towel and it removes the dust.
For those reviewers complaining about it feeling like running your nails on a chalkboard: YOU ARE FILING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!!!
If you feel ANY tug or resistance, try going in the other direction. When you file properly it should feel super easy and not tug at the nail. This should help people who tend to file back and forth and get splits in the nail as a result.
For those reviewers that say it's glass and it breaks: UMM HELLO?!!?! It's says that on the package. Hopefully you read before you buy... Treat this as you would a drinking glass or your magnifying mirror. Don't throw it around. Don't stash it in your purse. Don't drop it. Simple.
I will repurchase this given the odd circumstance in where it does break by accident.

I lovethis nail file, it isnt has harsh on the nails as a traditional file. Its also much prettier. The only con about the crystal nail file is the unflexible thickness of the file. It makes it very difficult to file the sides of my nails, near the cuticle, a traditional file works better for this considering its more flexible and gets into all the little crevices.

From the picture uploaded, it looks silver on the bottom like an average nail file.
But no so, in reallife, it's the two of the most gorgeous colors. Clear ombre into a pop of blue.
Don't you just love things and people that are as work as beautifully as they look?
My luck that in Hawaii there's no store that carries this, but thanks to these holy grail reviews, I gladly paid the $10 online, and it was definitely worth every single last red cent. This is now one of my favorite things, up there with an $80 serum.
It works very effectively/fast, making it extremely convenient. I'm always pressed for time, and like everyone else, I love looking at pretty things. This is everything you could ask for. :)

Wow, wow, wow
Thanks to everyone who reviewed these crystal nail files.
I have seen them many times before, but would have never bought 1 without your input.
After using it for the first time, i realized why I disliked doing manicure at home - it was because I was filing nails with those g-awful emery boards or metal files. Never again.
La Gross crystal nail files are the best. Just hope that they will last :)

I really like this file. It works great and looks pretty. Beware though, since it is glass it is fragile. I have reached in my purse only to discover my file broken in pieces...

Great quality compared to the regular emery board nail files. Kinda of pricey, around 10 bucks, but worth it. The regular emery board nail filer seems to sharpen my nails so much they could double as weapons in a fight. The crystal nail file, on the other hand, does not. Wish they would come out with a mini version of this so it could be a staple in my makeup bag. Remember this product is glass, therefore breakable, meaning if you sit on it, no matter how skinny you think your booty is, it will break. Have heard from too many ladies doing this, lol!

I like these glass/crystal nail files and wanted to try another brand. Originally have bought no-name glass file from Harmon drugs for $3.99. This one by Sally Hansen/La Cross is good but it is not double sided like others I have. For $10 I feel it's a rip off as only one side is usable. I'm very disappointed and would not purchase this again.

I have to 2nd mricha14, this is like running my nails down a chalkboard. It totally sets my teeth on edge. I hate it! It seems to do a decent job of filing, but I can do just as well with an emery board and it doesn't feel so horrible.

I'm not a nail person, but I was just amazed at the difference! This nail file is fabulous and I have never used anything like it. So glad I spent the $ on it.

I'm sorry, I'm probably the only person on here that didn't really like this nail file. I bought it because of all the rave reviews. It seems to do a quick job of filing but I can't get past how it feels. It's just like scraping my nails down a chalkboard. I can't do it...it's just an uncomfortable feeling every time I use it.
I'm sticking to my Polar Block from Sally's Beauty supply.

Couldn't find this anyplace and posted a message on the board. Finally got the last one at Ulta and it's still the only one I've seen in NYC.
Love it. My nails were peeling all over the place even with taking biotin and I had the feeling it was due to cheap emery boards. So far, so good.
Worth the price.

I bought this before there was even a review available for this file. So I totally bought it on a whim after reading that glass nail files were less damaging for nails. I have brittle nails that always split and break. Its absolutely infuriating at times. This file has allowed me to keep a manicure on my nails for more than two days. My nails usually split withing a few days of clipping. By the way I do not clip my nails any more. This file is so effective I can file decent length nails to short in no time at all. Its excellent quality, easy to clean, and every time I use it I feels like im treating myself to something nice. Its worth the investment and if you are worried about its safety just keep it in the sleeve it comes with when its not in use.

I have had 4 of these - 2 for home, 1 for work, 1 for purse - for over a year, and I've never broken one, although I've dropped at least one of them on a concrete floor. They're glass, so, sure, they're breakable but obviously not especially so. They're otherwise indestructible since the texture never wears off.
They need to be thoroughly cleaned periodically to remove any trace of debris/oil/lotion from the textured side so that their effectiveness is renewed. You can just wash with hot, soapy water and a nailbrush, but it's easier to just throw them in the dishwasher in the silverware holder.
I most especially like mine to smooth any rough skin around my nails and fingertips because I'm a picker. They're great for nails, too, of course. They're so smoothing that I can even use them to smooth a rough edge on a nail with nail polish on, usually without disturbing the polish. However, I don't know that they make nails any stronger, as some claim.
Anyway, I think they're great, and I've obviously given them more of a chance than some other reviewers! I just wish they'd offer a long, round or hexagonal (like a narrow pencil) one, still with a pointed tip, to get at that rough skin right around the nail more easily - I've recommended that to them, but so far I haven't seen such a thing in the stores! :) At the very least, some texture on the edges of the current shape would be a great addition.

I did not want to like this product. I held off for months after reading reviews - because I JUST KNEW i'd hate it. The crystal sounded like it would feel like running my finger nails against a chalk board...but it doesn't. I've been using for about a month and my nails are indeed stronger (just took off acrylics about 3 months ago). The file MAKES you only file in one direction - which we all know we should - but don't. Leave clean nail edge. Appears as if it will last a long time - which, if you think about it - makes the $8 price tag a lot easier to swallow.

This is a great file, but I had to take away a lippie because it is pretty fragile, and I felt kind of robbed of $9 when it dropped and broke before spending too much quality time together. Perhaps it is for gentler, less clumsy folk than me, but I am not sure if I could face the heartbreak twice!

How can a nailfile cost so much? And how impressive can a nailfile possibly be? As odd as it seems, this nailfail is amazing and worth the cost. I'm never using any other file again.

I suck at anything dealing with nails, but I can even uses it. My nails don't have that rough edge anymore, so I'm very pleased. I'm gonna start taking it to the nail shop with me.

Great! especially for thick toe nail's because it lasts sooo long before getting dull. I normally go through a new nail file in about two weeks, this has lasted 6 months and counting. It's really pretty too. It lasts so long it ends up cheaper than most files.

This file works great. I've been looking for it for a couple of months now but didn't find it until yesterday, plus it was 33% off. So I picked it up and gave myself a manicure last night. Definitely the best file I've used, but it fell on the sofa and I sat on it, and it snapped. It's glass! So if you are a roughneck like me, beware. I don't know if I will buy another one. The regular price on this at Walgreens is $8.99.
