The only reason I tried this is because it is complimentary in Renaissance Hotels. They give this and the rosemary mint shampoo/conditioner as samples in their rooms. Oh my, this is a great basic moisturizer for my combination skin. I have not gotten any breakouts using this. It is very light but effective. I have used it all winter and my skin has been very comfortable without being greasy. Perfect under makeup. The review page for this moisturizer says it is discontinued. I just bought some from the Aveda store at the mall so it is still easily available.

This product is for the old version. The new version has sort of scared me off for now. Yes Aveda has reissued it. Yes, they have made it paraben free, which I thought was pretty fishy in the first placfe since Aveda prides itself on being "pure". I learned that not all things "pure" equal things that are non-comedone! So I suppose this product confused me. It looks innocent enough. I read the ingredients list and thought okay, I will give this a try. It's sneaky, imo. It moisturizes really well. It smells pleasant, the consistency is good enough to be a "richer" moisturizer, however it slowly but surely broke out my skin.
I will eventually get aorund to buying a mini and try it out again, however I'm not a fan. It does make a decent hand cream and that's about it. I will also use it under my eyes in a pinch, but no longer all over my face. I realize that not all skin is created equal, meaning one person's allergic reactions do not equal another, but to have such overwhelmingly popular reviews on this product (not just here but on the Aveda website itself) blew my mind. My skin is my skin I guess.

I bought this in a gift set thingo with the toner and cleanser - mainly just because I wanted the little toiletries bag made of concrete bags by women India (or something along those lines, I don't remember now).
I think this is a great 'plain' moisturiser, one of which I always like to have around, usually for day times when I am not needing suncream or wearing makeup (days at home). It is not too thick and creamy for daytime and for me not too light that my face feels tight, but it is a bit of a non-event for the price. I would possibly buy it again one day but I'll try a few other things in the meantime.

I have using this product for years. I went to buy it yesterday and they have discontinued it. Worse yet, they have not given me a similar product to switch to. The saleswoman at Aveda said they are reformulating it and it will come out at some point in the future.

Feel: This product is thin and spreads easily over my face. Once on it feels lightweight and is absorbed quickly. Leaves my skin soft and dry to the touch (as opposed to oily or slick feeling).
Smell: Aroma neutral but has a slight earthy smell. Although there are other brands that seem to perform as well with moisturizing I can't stand having perfume-y smells on my face. This is what makes it my daily moisturizer.
Price: A lot of reviews complain about this but it is $33 for 5 fl oz. That is $6.60 per ounce, making it less than most drug store brands which usually come in containers holding less than 2 fl oz. of product and cost $15 to $20.
Sensitivity Issues: They should rename this product because it implies that it is good for all sensitive skin, but sensitive is a broad term. I have "sensitive skin." I am not allergic to this product, but it is well known that many people with allergies to things like grass and pollen are allergic to Aveda products. If you fit into this category, you might want to try a sample first. I also don't get very many zits. However, I am still considered "sensitive" because I easily develop redness and hives brought on by environmental changes and irritants. This product seems to calm my skin down. Another reason it is my daily moisturizer.
Safety: No sunscreen, so take that how you wish. But it does contain parabens. For more information on why these chemicals are not good, check out the Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database.

I got a very large sample of this moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin and use alot of Aveda products. I have never been very impressed with Aveda's skincare and this hasn't changed my mind. As far as sensitivity, I have not had any rashes or reactions. There is little to no scent in the product at all. But in terms of moisture, I can't say that it seems to do much at all. It is a VERY light lotion, not a cream. Feels more like a cheap hand lotion to me. But I like my moisturizer very rich and leaving my skin dewy. This does nothing really. I definitely won't be buying a full size product.

I use this every day have so for quite a while, I wear it under the duo aveda foundation, and it works great together. I've never had a bad reaction to it, but I would consider switching to something cheaper as long as it preformed the same,I've tried many others but have had really bad results, the small 1.7oz bottle is 20$ cad, ouch!

I've used this moisturizer for 7-8 years now - for me, it's a terrific everyday item. My skin reacts to a variety of ingredients, but not to this. I do need more moisture some nights, especially in the dry season. When that's the case, I usually apply an oil (rosehip, or Aveda's night nutrients) under All Sensitive moisturizer every other night or so, and that works great.
I took off one star for parabens. Although their new products are now formulated without parabens, Aveda has yet to phase them out of older products. I think they're behind the curve on this, especially for a brand that prides itself on being relatively natural/environmental.
Clearly a lot of people react to All Sensitive - but for me, this product has been a fantastic staple for years. I'd recommend trying it if you haven't yet found a moisturizer that works for your sensitive skin. It may not work for you - or it may work perfectly...

I love the all natural ingredients and the price isn't too bad , but it made me break out . the search continues for a all natural moisturizer that is inexpensive and doesn't cause breakouts! If anyone knows of one please let me know ..... thanks

A lovely MUAer sent me a trial size (1oz) of this lovely moisturizer as an extra in a swap, and I love it! I have sensitive, oily skin with mild rosacea, and this doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest, and I have not experienced any breakouts. It's light and non-greasy and absorbs like a dream, leaving my skin feeling hydrated and soft. This has surpassed DermaDoctor's Cool Calm 'n' Corrected as my favourite moisturizer for sensitive skin, and it's much cheaper, too (DD's CCC is very expensive!). I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews of this product, I find Aveda All-Sensitive to be a very gentle and soothing moisturizer. It is light though, so I can understand that it's not moisturizing enough for people with dry skin. But my oily skin LOVES it! :D
PS - I don't detect an overly strong smell, to me this has a light, herbally scent, nothing offensive at all.

I am over 50 and have not experienced breakouts in decades. But since using this product, my skin has been breaking out terribly and itches as well. I also don't think it does a good job of moisturizing. This moisturizer is far too expensive and did not produce the results I expected from an Aveda product. I've discontinued using it and hopefully my skin will return to normal.

Ugh... my mom loves aveda products, so she bought me this moisturizer because my skin is really sensitive. For some reason, this made my skin itch unlike the hydrating lotion. and, the worse part was that it made me break out really badly.... so, i stopped using it and gave it back to my mom to use!

Not quite hydrating enough for my dry, sensitive skin. Also not loving the strong aniseed smell. It's a fairly light lotion to would probably be good for summer.I think its way too expensive for what it is though....def no better than Cetaphil.

I used to use Sisley products for my skin but because i'm on a budget now i needed to find something else. I choose Aveda because of the light herbal ingredients. The smell of the all sensitive is ok, i prefer the smell of the botanical range. The moisturizer is a bit to thin, it feels nice on the skin when i apply, but it just feels too light. I don't have a dry skin at all, but it is defenitely drier then before! I might try the botenical moisterizer of Aveda next time. If it doesn't feel nice as well, I'll just go back to Sisley. The best products ever!

Had my makeup done at Aveda and the MA recommended the moisturizer for my sensitive skin so I bought it.
The smell is overpowering, and although it didn't irritate my skin, it didn't really do a good job of moisturizing.

I really like this moisturizer, and unlike others...I love the fragrance of it...almost herbal, but clean. It is light and when mixed with my HG concealer (Colortration), it makes a great base.

Me: very sensitive skin. This product: horrible for very sensitive skin. Look carefully at the ingredients, there are actually many irritating things inside this line. I bought the whole line together and used it religiously for a month but my skin ended up looking horribly reactive. I stoped using it for one day, ONE DAY, and used something else. Guess what? My skin was one million times better after even stopping this regimen for one day. Please, research the ingredients a little more carefully and please, don't try this if you have very sensitive skin - there are many much better products out there that are less expensive.

I wanted to try Aveda and at the stored the lightest moisterizer I tried was from the all-sensitive line. I bought it and took it home. After a week, my face was beginning to not be as soft as it could be. Unfortunately, this product was too greasy for my skin.

I started using this product about 9 months ago and have been pleased with it ever since. A little goes a long way in comparison to my Aveda Cleanser. It is very very lightly scented and not greasy at all. I find it is perfect in the Spring - Fall seasons. I have sensitive normal-combo skin and experience more dryness in my forehead in the winter. This product still agrees with me though if I apply a 2nd layer to my forehead and hairline when I feel I need a little extra moisture. Overall I am very pleased. You will find that you'll use up the cleanser twice as quickly as this moisturizer.

I didn't buy this...I got several small hotel-sized bottles while staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago (very nice!)...but I love it so much that I would buy it in a heartbeat. Great moisturizer, very lightly scented, very gentle, too. I even use it on my face when I want a light moisturizer post-exfoliation, when everything is _really_ sensitive.
