I have used this for years as a alternative to black. It gives more definition than grey but not as harsh as black now that I am older and need something less stark. It wears well but I will say that there as been a lot of variation in the pots that I have used over the years. Sometimes they are smooth and creamy other times they have been dry and harder to apply.

Overall I would recommend this for anyone wanting a dramatic eyeliner but not as dark as regular black.

Blitz and Glitz was my first MAC fluidline and first gel liner. I really liked this product. Just like the rest of the fluidlines: very easy to apply, lasts long, etc.

I apply fluidline gel with the MAC 266 brush or elf angled eyeliner brush. I still slightly prefer applying with the 266, bc I think it picks up and applies the fluidline better.

The black in this is more of a brown-black than true black, so does give a slightly softer look. The little sparkles are fun and are not very obvious on your eyes, but more subtle. This product a fun alternative to try from simple black eyeliner.

MAC Fluidline is my HG gel eyeliner. I got my jar of Blitz and Glitz in 2009 and it has lasted me over three years. A year later I picked up Rich Ground. Both apply really smoothly. I've had my jar of Delphic for four an a half years. This colour doesn't stand out on my medium complexion on its own so I use mainly for my waterline with Blitz and Glitz on my lash line.

Up until recently, Fluidline has been the only eyeliner that has stayed put all day on my combination/oily skin even on hot humid summer days!

The liner layers on thin and subtle or thick and bold (depending on the look I'm going for) with an angled eyeliner brush. I can also change the look by layering eyeshadow on top of the liner as well.

The downside of this eyeliner is that is it a gel and you have to use a brush. It can be a bit time consuming for early mornings before work. For that reason, I've recently discovered Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eyes pencils which give me a similar look but take much less time to apply. (I'm not a morning person, lol). However, when I'm not in a rush, The look and longevity of Fluidline is totally worth the effort!

I gave Fluidline a 2 for packaging because the jars are made of glass and I've dropped and cracked one of my jars a few times. The poor jar is covered in tape :(

This isn't dark enough for my preference. I much prefer the dark sharp line that blacktrack provides.

I use this almost daily for a super precise cat eye. It is a lovely strong black, with a (very) subtle gold shimmer that works so well with glossy bronzed skin or satin eyeshadows. The staying power is also amazing- I wear it to the beach with a slick of waterproof mascara, go swimming, apply sunscreen, get dunked under the water by my bf, and still it does. not. move. Yet it comes off easily with a makeup wipe and warm water.

Highly recommended.

This is the first gel liner that I have tried and I love it! It lasts throughout the day, has great pigmentation and it gives a hint of sparkle through the black. I just love it so much. It's perfect.

NW10 (neutral-cool toned, very fair), blue eyes, Color season is True Summer, Baumann Skin Type is OSPW.

I love this gel eye liner. I own many charcoal gel eye liners because I was used to selecting a charcoal in place of black liner for dramatic looks because my coloring is so gentle, the black looks really harsh on me, even for evening looks sometimes. While this is a black and not a charcoal liner, the shimmer gives it a metallic sheen, which removes the harshness of a dark matte black liner. Great option for me, and wears very well. Just as dark by the end of the day, zero smudging. Quality product from MAC.

I love this gel liner! I am South Asian mix and eyeliner is like staple of my make up routine. I used to wear liquid and it just takes alot more time to put on because you have to have such a steady hand or it'll be uneven or a disaster. This is super easy to put on with the right eyeliner brush (got mine from MAC as well) and it's been the only eye liner that I've ever used that literally lasts all day long and still looks fresh. It's hard to find a liner sometimes that won't smudge on your eye lid crease even with primer, but this is it. You can barely see the little sparkles, but the color is great if you want a black but not super deep black. Great for day time use and can put more layer on to make it darker for night time use.
It's a little pricey, but hey, it's MAC. But for the quality and considering a little goes a long way, it's definitely worth it. I hope they never discontinue this product.

I got this eyeliner when I bought the tartan collection. I was running out of black track so I purchased this since I really like the fluid line black track. This eyeliner has the same effect as the black track. The glitter in this liner does not really show up when applied, it looks like I have just been using the black track. Nevertheless, I still love this eyeliner since it gave me the same amazing effect when using the black track.

It is a light black colour with shimmer. Really easy to apply and blend, and surprisingly long lasting. I have tried Bobbi Brown and Clinique, and MAC stands out among all because of its staying power. It is still clear a 'line' after 12 hours of work - not any smudge! And it never dries out easily in the container (like Bobbi Brown - after half a year it basically all dries out) I use it every single day and after 2 years I have got half of it full in the pot. The best eyeliner in the market for sure, and all you need is a good eyeliner brush.

My HG eyeliner! I adore this product. It is excellent as an everyday gel liner as it isn't completely black-black... it's more "light black with shimmer". I use this in the day time and would usually switch to Blacktrack at night if I am going out. I do not find that Blitz and Glitz smudges, but I do always use primer. I have had this for over a year and it has not dried out yet. Would repurchase.

Very buildable and creamy. Unfortunately, it smudged under my eye by the end of the day, and irritated my eyes (possibly the glitter, which is very subtle on the eye).
I found essence gel eyeliner to be similar with better staying power, and without the irritation.

Like other reviewers here, my daily make up consists in eyeliner and mascara for long lashes. I was using the L'Oreal Super Liner in Carbon Gloss and was very satisfied with it, but as I was reading so much about gel liners I thought this was going to be not only even more longlasting but also easier to apply. Well, it is somewhat easier if you have problems with liquid eyeliners (I had problems but practice leads to perfection - os almost that), but as for longlasting... Maybe it is just this shade (I asked for a black one but didn't know the name and just arriving home - and I bought this in another country - I found out that this had little glitters on), as people rave so much about Blacktrack, but on me this does smudges. Not so much as a pencil eyeliner, but definetly more than my beloved L'Oreal Super Liner. I do have to use primer which I didn't with the L'Oreal one. Anyway, not a terrible product, it is good, but there's a better product for less money.

My daily makeup consists of eyeliner and mascara, so it's important that the product is easy to use / easy to fix to go with my five minute routine every morning. This product is very spreadable with the right brush: It gives you enough time to shape your eyes to your liking but also dries quite quickly so you don't have to wait for minutes before blinking again. If you make a mistake, it's also quickly removable with a cotton bud (I use my Clinique Quickliner's smudging end) without irritating your skin.
I didn't believe it's a long-wear, waterproof product when I first used it, because it seemed to have a soft texture. It proved to be otherwise nevertheless! I spent some nights without being able to remove it on a couple of occasions, and it never failed me with racoon eyes in the next morning. Of course there was a little bit of fading here and there, but no big deal to ruin your look.
While appreciating the jet black eyeliner look I prefer to be on the more casual side in the mornings. Blitz & Glitz manages to be just enough black without that much harshness and its shimmery colour makes it easy to transfer your makeup in to a night / party one and saves you the effort of any additions.
Obviously, its packaging wasn't designed for travel. It's quite big considering the amount of eyeliner you get, mostly glass rather than product. But it's still sleek and easy to use.
I wouldn't say it's cheap, though it's a price I'm willing to pay with the overall quality I get.

This is my go-to eyeliner, i use it every day (:
It goes on smoothly and is easier to apply than the liquid liner from MAC. Its not too black, more of a soft black with shimmer.

In my experience, does not smudge easily or fade. My only complaint is that when applied to the lash line, it does smudge a tiny bit, giving me a slight raccoon eye. This is easily solved with a Q-tip and a bit of oil though, so its definitely worth it! Its a bit pricey too, since the pot is so small, but a little goes a long way, and like i said, its a great quality eyeliner so its worth it!

I will definitely re-purchase (:

I love this pot! I use it everyday. The color isn't 100% black, more like a dark grey/navy. It's sparkly in a nice way.

I really love this. I generally consider myself to be very clueless and out of my depth with liquid liners but this is really easy to get a nice smooth line. I really like the color too. It is not exactly black- to me there seems to be an undertone of navy to it that makes it not quite as harsh on my fair skin. Love it! I think it would be great with really minimalist looks as well as more dramatic ones. Would definitely repurchase!

I was very surprised by how easy it was to apply this eyeliner. The very first time it went on smooth and exactly where I wanted it. The glimmer in it makes it ideal for us pale people whom can look washed-out with black make-up. Would recommend!

I love this eyeliner. The color is perfect for fair skin like mine because I always found black to be too harsh. The earthy colored sparkles make it even more unique. The product is amazing and silky for the first 2 months. Though it tends to dry out pretty quickly in warm, dry temperatures. Make sure to always close the cap whenever its not in use, it'll last longer this way. Application is so easy. Lasting power is also amazing, barely smudges too! I will always repurchase!
