Coming out of my makeupalley exile to review this- that's how much I love it. I have extremely sensitive and acne-prone skin. I have gone through countless liquid foundations (high and low end) and every single one caused me to break out. I've tried Bare Minerals, Everyday Minerals, and a number of drugstore brand mineral foundations but they all made me break out. I tried Pure Luxe on a whim one day and I'm sure glad that I did. The foundation is very reasonably priced and best of all, it doesn't cause any breakouts! I know that everyone's skin reacts differently but I recommend Pure Luxe to anyone who's had a hard time finding a foundation that doesn't irritate their skin. They have plenty of shades and their samples are very generous.

This was alright...its going in the container with my other failed mineral powders that somehow all mix together and look pretty decent, but I wouldn't buy it again. It doesn't blend as well as other's I've tried and is a little chalky. I like semi-matte, satin, and luminous finishes (so long as they aren't sparkly..and even then, I usually mix it with semi-matte). I am an NC 25 in winter, NC 30 in summer...I chose the colour Autumn for the summer and it matched pretty well, though was slightly orange.

So I bought Ivory and Creamy natural thinking they looked pale enough for me,but I was dead wrong. They are WAY darker than they appeared on the screen. Like,Ivory could have been worn by some of my Hispanic friends. This is not the way an ivory should be whatsoever. Coverage is light to medium. If you're someone with a nicely done tan,go for it. Light complected gals should stay very far away.

i found my perfect shade after sampling about 3 different colours in an order that i shared with my 2 aunts.

this mineral foundation is what i only wear on my face when i go to work. it is light, and also very build-able. it covers my acne marks well and 30g last a looong time!! well worth for the price too in my opinion.

it does not really oxidize on me, compared to some others that i've used in the past like Ettusais loose powder. this also seems to keep my breakouts under control - since i switch to mineral foundation, i've had lesser clogged pores and pimples.

will definitely repurchase when i'm out of this.

I first ordered samples a year or two ago, and (in the samples) I was sure that Buff was a great match for my skin. So I ordered a full-size. When I received it, it was too dark for my skin! I wore other brands for a while, then when I ran out, I tried my PL samples again, because the texture was so nice! I ran out of my Ivory and Creamy Natural samples, so I ordered more samples...Ivory, Creamy Natural, and Warm Cream. I received them about a week ago, and was shocked to find that they were all much darker and yellower than my old samples. Ivory, which was almost white in my last sample, was very yellow and looked three or four shades darker. It didn't apply quite so dark, but still darker than the original shade. The picture of the foundation shades on the site is still the same as when I ordered the first time. The texture also seems a lot less smooth than last time I ordered. I emailed and asked if they had reformulated but haven't gotten an answer. I'd be afraid to order a full-size at this point, who knows what I'll end up with? It's a real shame, because before I got these new samples I thought I'd found my HG foundation.

I actually like this mineral foundation a lot, but i find it to be a bit drying. As any MMU without bismuth, it looks better applied lightly with a powderbrush. Not a lot of buffing needed, and that is very important to me. I dont think buffing is good for my skin. Anyway, i did not find a perfect match with Pure Luxe (creamy natural was closest). So i have moved on to an other MMU company and i am very happy with them.

I am quite satisfied with their mineral foundations, although I prefer another brand.
I just didn't find the right color.

So, since I'm on my second jar of this, I figured it's high time to review it. I initially got Pure Luxe samples as swap extras. They were the Mineral Powder in Buff and an Original Eraser and a Banana Split Eraser. They sat for a bit before I tried them, but once I did, I was completely sold.Weirdly enough, the Buff was exactly my shade. So random, but the yellow tones in it blend in perfectly. It's silky and buildable. It's got really incredible coverage for a MMU.I'm a NW20, freckles, gold-based skin tones and have worse acne now than when I was 16. This, in more than a year of use, doesn't aggravate that. The shade selection seems pretty wide, and the prices are very reasonable. I haven't personally ever had CS issues with them, so I've nothing but good to say. Would repurchase.

I ordered pure luxe sample through a friend and received the sample few days ago. I'm not sure what shade I am in MAC, but I'm Golden Medium in EM but Olive Medium ini MAD and a mix between light and medium golden in Lumierre for reference.

I chose two shade, warm cream and warm honey. Warm cream is too light, but warm honey is just perfect. (Usually, I don't get this lucky in finding the perfect colour) I would also like to try Autumn just for the sake of curiousity.

Overall, I like the foundation. I dislike the glittery things but when I put it on my face, I barely notice it. So, it's not really a big deal. It didn't cause my sensitive skin to break out or dry or anything else.

It's a decent foundation. But considering the price, I would choose MAD or EM over Pure Luxe.

i was never big on foundation. it's just icky to me. time consuming and messy. so liquid foundations were a no-no to me. i decided to give this a try, since it is a powder one. i'm glad that i did. it is highly pigmented and a little bit is good enough! don't do what i did at first, that is start with just a little bit of the stuff and build in layers if you need more coverage.
i look natural and gorgeous with it :O)

the first time i used this i was scared, it looked awful. now i realised it's because i applied too much. i just tried it again with a stippling brush like the MAC 187 and it looked very nice. when i apply it wet i get black and grey streaks, but dry is fine.

EDIT: the staying power isn't too good. i no longer use this. lily lolo's mineral foundation is so much better in every way

I bought some samples of the Pure Luxe powders, color correctors, eraser and foundation in Ivory. I think that the makeup is very good and has good staying powder. It's a bit tricky to apply, maybe a little more than other mineral makeups such as Alima. I found the color of the foundation to be a bit off-putting in the container, but it doesn't appear that way on my skin.

The foundation does have a tendency to slip where my sunglasses sit on my nose, but really it's been a very good foundation to keep my skin from being an oil slick in the hot humid weather we have in Texas.

I'd recommend getting samples from both Pure Luxe and Alima, both are great brands with good individual products, but mixing and matching them is the best way to getting a flawless face.

OK texture & staying power but I couldn’t find a good skin tone match. Every sample oxidized on me. I will stick to Fyrinnae SuperPower Quartz Matte and the long wait for shipping. I think that this would be a good choice though if you were able to get a good color match. They do offer samples and custom mixing upon request. Shipping was fast.

Me: NW10-15, cool, sensitive, normal/dry with very dry under eye area with fine lines, prone to occasional acne breakouts, and oily T-zone in hot, humid or freezing Michigan weather, fair with blue eyes, brunette age 40ish :)

I have finally found my HG foundation! Good price, great CS, fast shipping, and perfect color math. What more could i possibly ask for?

I'm asian, NC15 for MAC. Ivory in Pure Luxe's Powder Foundation is an exact match for me.

I've tried many foundations, from DS to HE, but nothing truly impress me. Just to name a few that i've tried : GA LSF, Chanel Teint Innocence, Diorskin Light, Maybelline age rewind and the list goes on and on! They all oxidized on me somewhat, and feel greasy at the end of the day. So I decided to give MMU a try. Originally, I was gonna try either EM or Alima. But one day for some reason I ordered a few eyeshadow samples from Pure Luxe and I was very impressed. So I thought why not try their foundation? They've got samples which will last you for probably a week for $1!

It is so great to find a HG! I've been using this stuff for 3 years now, I just love it. I have very oily acne skin, and this keeps my face from being shiny, doesn't come off, is very rub proof, it even looks fine when I go swimming! I just love how matte it is, and how well it covers my acne scars. I haven't found anything cover them as well as PL.

On especially hot days, I do a light layer of foundation, then mist my face and do another layer of makeup, and mist one more time (mainly because the second time just feels so good) and that seems to make the foundation hold up a lot better. If you still have problems with oily breakthru, then add translucent matte after, or even during the day, that stuff is amazing as well.

The colors are great, and easily mixable for custom coloring, and really cheap samples, so there is no excuse for not being able to find your perfect color.

I've been on a kick where I want to wear mineral foundation (again). When I did in the past I found Aromaleigh to be the best I'd tried. But then I strayed away from minerals. After reading the great reviews I decided to give pure luxe a try. I guess mineral makeup is just not for me. Thankfully I bought the sample sizes..(great selection fast shipping) but the product just settled in my pores and did not look natural. I recently used Mark buff powder foundation and found it made my skin look flawless..you'd think once I found perfection I'd stop..LOL! Not me, I'm always looking for the next best thing. I'm re-thinking that strategy and going to add a 5th lippie to my Mark review.

This is a godsend for my oily skin! It gives a wonderful, soft matte finish that has light-diffusing stuff to give that soft air-brushed look, which I really need in order to hide my acne scars. I think it's kind of messy using loose powder foundations, but I am making an exception for Pure Luxe because it is simply the most amazing foundation I have ever encountered.

I really like this MP, it wears well and I was able to find a good color match (Buff). It doesn't give me that shiny look that BE does and looks good over my concealer. My method of application is somewhat unorthodox; as I spell out in the details of my review of the PL powder eraser, I use my fingertips to work it over my face and then buff it with a clean powder brush. It also works well as a concealer over some of my discolorations when applied with a small brush. So far I am quite happy. The only problem is that the powder does not seem to be mixed as well as others I have tired, and I see flex of white or some other pigment in the small amount I dump into my hand. Still, that doesn't seem to effect the performance or look of the final application. Since they offer a nice range of colors, I can easily switch to the next darker shade come summer. Oh, and the price is right!

I've used several different brands of MMU and have found my HG in this line. Customer Service is excellent. I ordered samples in Buff, Fawn Beige, Baby Face, Suntan, Warm Cream, and Creamy Natural. My match was a mix of Buff and Fawn Beige. I emailed their customer service and found they would gladly mix whatever ratio I needed free of charge. For just $20.00 I received 30gr of 20% Buff and 80% Fawn Beige. It is a perfect match. It goes on easily over my moisturizer and stays on all day. It doesn't look shiny and doesn't itch like my BE does. I've gotten so many complements on my skin lately. Oh, I also wear Pure Luxe powder eraser both under and over my foundation, Translucent Matte over my t-zone, and April's Mix over everything. I love everything I've tried from Pure Luxe thus far.
