This brand is not what I hoped it would be; the entire line performs poorly and is deceptively toxic (Sephora calls it "natural", despite the fact that it includes gold, silver, fragrance and octinoxate, which are all highly toxic). If it weren't for the hazard level I'd probably like the Glacial Face Wash and Arctic Face Mist somewhat, but the other products are useless and leave my oily skin dry and unbalanced. Overall, this kit is a huge disappointment.

This kit was my introduction to Skyn Iceland and I must say I found it just in time. My skin is super oily and breaks out a lot. I spent the past few years trying to dry this oil out and dry up zits and couldn't figure out why nothing was working. I found this product in January and after trying the kit, I am on full sized bottles of everything from the kit as well as other products from Skyn Iceland. My skin actually feels like skin now. There is a huge difference in the appearence of past red marks from acne and a massive reduction in breakouts. Who knew that oily skin actually needs moisture too and that stress can ruin your skin (and sanity for that matter). This is really helping to change my skin completely and helping me realize what a toll stress takes on your body and health. I am also glad I found this product for its anti-aging benefits as I was also trying to incorporate that into my regimin.
Try the kit if you have sensitive, oily, acne prone skin...it might be just what you needed to completely turn your skin around.

I purchased this item for the first time last week. As many other reviewers have noted, there is definitely enough product here for a month or two. However, as this was a 5 day detox kit, I'll base my results on this time frame.

I'll start by noting that I have very tempermental, sensitive, acne prone skin. It gets black heads, papules, cysts, oil slick sections, red irritated patches, etc... I had been using a spa line, and followed it up with Philosopy's Help Me Retinol treatment. I had tried the Booster C, but my skin just couldn't take it. When I picked up the packaging and read the stress descriptions, I had to laugh. I work 12 hour+ days as an Engineer in a contruction company on a remote jobsite with somewhat extreme weather. I'm flying frequently, and the quality of food in camp can be somewhat lacking in nutritional value. I have no doubts what so ever that this has had a significant impact on my complexion, so finding a product for "stressed" skin seemed like a no brainer.

I took the kit home and tried it that night, with nothing else. The wash felt creamy and gentle, which was a nice change. My skin felt soft after, not tight, but not like it had oil on it either. It had an interesting cooling sensation after, but not burning in my experience. The night cream was kind of dried in the jar, but I chalked that up to the packaging. You have to pat it onto somewhat damp, but not wet, skin. Otherwise it kind of pills up and you're left with a face covered in little moisturizer balls. Strange, but I'll leave it be. I read that some people noticed a burning sensation. The only time I found anything similar was went I decided to apply the night cream, then hop into a hot shower. The pores opened up, and the warming sensation was much stronger.

The first morning I was amazed. The redness in my skin was DRASTICALLY reduced. I'd say that I had about a 65% reduction in redness that night, but I had 2 zits on my cheek that I didn't even feel the day before. I'd read that this product caused your skin to "purge", so I was fine with that. I washed it again with the cleanser and used the day moisturizer. My skin was a little redder after washing it, but that's what happens when you physically irritate it. The day moisturizer sinks in quite nicely, though it doesn't moisturize strongly. I wouldn't recommend it for dry skin by itself.

Throughout the day I could feel zits forming under my skin. The absolutely amazing part was that where it used to take a week for them to surface, if they did at all, these were coming completely to the surface in under 12 hours! I was a little sceptical at first, just because I've had products cause breakouts before. With other products you can feel them forming, then they don't go away, and your existing congestion just gets worse from the additional swelling. So far, this one actually feels different. The white heads that form are actually mostly the plugs that have been trapped in my skin, not just pus.

I've had a week of using this product, and I can honestly say I'll buy it again. The red marks left behind from previous acne are clearing faster without a special product for them. The acne that does come comes to the surface quickly, and leaves quickly. My overall redness has diminished, and the texture of my skin has improved.

I will be buying this product again, and have already recommended it to my friends who are dealing with similar problems. Next up I plan on trying their eye cream pen (great for flying), and I plan on looking at their line for a slightly stronger moisturizer for the winter months. -40 is hard on the skin.

Is this my HG? I don't know. I'll let you know when my skin has completely cleared ;)

The only reason I said I would not repurchase is because of the spray. The face wash and both moisturizers are amazing. I have devil skin, sensitive to everything, itchy, dry on cheeks and oily through t-zone. The glacial face wash, oxygen night cream and the antidote used in conjunction to elimate redness on my cheeks. NOTHING has done this not rosacure (drying), or Avene, or LRP Toleriane or anything else I have tried. I might try Trilogy next but if it wasn't fantastic I would have no qualms about continuing with Skyn Iceland.

This stuff is great. I've been doing a lot of travelling for my job and have been experiencing an increase in personal life stress in the past few months. I've been noticing my skin has gone from alright to downright horrible. I am filipina so I have olive-tan skintone and have problems with acne scarring. The level of hormonal breakouts was insane, and I was also breaking out on my cheeks (which is new for me). I have dry to combination skin.
I bought this kit at sephora after extensive research and good word of mouth. I had low expectations, but I love this stuff. It was so soothing and I felt it working immediately. I use a very small amount of the glacial face wash and it lathers really well, and doesn't leave my skin dry. The products all last a long time, and for the price, it's very reasonable. I have noticed a significant difference in my skin and now am going back to where I was before alll the stress became a normal part of my life. The products smell good and they feel soothing.
II consider myself to be one of the rare people who have acne but also dry skin, so I would recommend this product to others who are similar. I find that other acne products dry my skin out too much and cause more issues in the long run. I have already purchased the full size versions of the product and am hopeful that this line will continue to work for me in the future.

When I got this home, the night cream cap was loosened and the product was dried up. I returned it immediately. I wanted to give the brand a try but do not deal with products that come flawed. Perhaps in the future I will try these products, but will not purchase this kit again.

This was so promising on my hunt for a new moisturizer. The sales pitch was enticing and the oxygen cream sounded soothing. After all, it is for "stressed" skin. All this did was stress out my skin. I have relatively trouble free skin, no acne, not really oily, but this stuff burned. I thought maybe just the toner was the culprit because of the alcohol content, so I did not sure it again. But the night cream burned all on it's own on cleansed and toned skin with my normal soothing toner.

I would not recommend these products. Something in them irritated even my relatively normal and not that sensitive skin. I even got some blemishes in one day that I have not got since I left puberty. I can't imagine what they might do to a person with sensitive skin. What a let down.

The sales rep for this line engaged me while I was at Sephora yesterday and began telling me about them. This was someone who worked for the company, not Sephora. She was extremely helpful, knowing which products I should try, and asked me what I was currently using on my face. I told her I was using Tazorac, and she told me that this line was good for soothing red, irritated skin not only from retinoids but from plastic surgery. I allowed her to spritz my face with the Arctic Face Mist, as well as apply a little cream on my neck. The products were very cooling, felt very soothing and on the spot I bought a full size Mist, along with the 5 day detox kit. The rep provided me with some literature about the line & gave me a sample of eye cream.

I wish I could say the rest of my experience was this pleasant. I did not appreciate the rep’s over-the-top theatrics when I told her I was using Neutrogena soap to wash my face at night. It’s one thing to say, “X could be causing some of your irritation. Let me tell you about how soothing our cleanser is.” It’s something else to stumble backward with your hand over your mouth as though I had just confessed to having kidnapped the Lindberg baby. Further, saying that my peeling and irritation is the result of the Neutrogena soap is an outright lie, especially considering she knew that I was using Tazorac. She also acted like she had never heard of Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair. I find it difficult to believe that she had never heard of the product considering she is in the skincare industry. Also, when I got home I couldn’t find any testimonials online about people using this after plastic surgery or peels, not even on their own website.

As skeptical as I now was, I took the rep’s actions as typical sales antics, and I went ahead with my purchase because the toner had been so soothing. When she spritzed my face at the store, I had on a layer of makeup, a layer of primer, another layer of moisturizer, and my customary afternoon layer of oil from my own skin. It felt so good that I never stopped to think about the barrier on my skin before I bought the products. Using them at home after removing the makeup, oil et cetera was a completely different experience. The cleanser did not even begin to remove makeup. When my skin was clean, and I sprayed on that toner, it might as well have been battery acid. I yelped and began fanning my face. Thinking my problem was the toner & possible alcohol, I used the night cream to get relief, but that only made it worse.

I didn’t know how to get the stuff off. My face felt like it was on fire at this point and everything was irritating it. The best I could do was rinse several times with cool water. I now have a 3 by 4 inch pink burn on the left side of my neck just beneath the jawline, and a 1 by 2 ½ inch pink burn on the top part of my right cheek. As a bonus, the cheek area was the exact area where I wanted to reduce redness. I know from experience that my skin will take 2 or 3 weeks to heal from this disaster. In the meantime I get to go to meetings with clients, corporate officers and attorneys (seeing the attorneys is related to my business, not this incident), and it’s impossible to cover this with makeup and make it passable. Even more demoralizing is that I have all of this new makeup I’ve bought that I won’t be able to use for a month because of this.

Needless to say this is going back to Sephora when I go out tomorrow. For someone not on a retinoid, judging from the reviews this could be a very good product. For those who are, steer clear of this stuff or at least do a patch test on BARE skin before you decide to put it on all over like I did. I feel completely flim-flamed and will never purchase anything from this line again.

This review is for the kit itself...after using the products for awhile I will be doing detailed reviews of each in its appropriate category.
I really think this kit is a great investment. A wonderful way to try the most popular products in the Skyn Iceland line, you get the night cream, day lotion, cleanser, and toner. What sold me were all the reviews explaining that the kit lasts much longer than 5 days, some have made it last 2-3 months. If I can make this last that long, it is much more economical for me than buying the full sizes. I actually bought a second kit from skinstore.com as they are having a promotion for 20% off of automatic delivery orders until Dec. 31st. I'm excited at the possibility of making a kit like this last a couple of months. So far its looking good. You use so little of the products that even using the cleanser 2x daily as well as the toner, I'm sure I can make this last.

If you are interested in giving this line a try, I highly recommend giving this kit a go. It's great for travel as well...airline approved!

UPDATE: So I caved and bought the full size cleanser, night cream, and day lotion. The kit looks like it will last about 1.5 months for me. Good for a kit, but it'll be more economical to invest in the full sizes. I still maintain that it is an excellent way to try the line!

I really love the marketing for Skyn Iceland, everything about it just makes me WANT to love it. Unfortunately, I couldn't! The face wash was super super drying combined with the face mist. My skin had a stinging sensation. The only positive point in this kit is the night cream. Maybe my skin isn't stressed enough for these products?

I've spent years trying to find "the" solution for my troubled skin. I always hoped that my sensitive acne prone skin would calm down after my teenage years, but now as I race towards my thirties I find myself with even more skin issues as I worry about wrinkles along with my breakouts.
My parter is 34 and has always had beautiful skin... until about a year ago when hormone changes caused her to start getting mild cystic acne.
Both of us have tried everything from Proactive and Murad to home remedies all with the same result. Disaster.
I decided to try this as a sort of last resort. I hate having to stress out my skin by constantly changing my skincare routine, but I also hate having to settle for having bad skin.
After starting to use this product I finally understood what people were talking about when refering to the skin purging. Other treatments made my skin go crazy which I assumed was apart of the process. This didn't cause new breakouts, but instead brought what was lurking underneath to the surface before destroying it.
After 3 months of use my skin is still so so soft and clear. It's like I have brand new skin! I'm not nearly as oily and my "monthlies" are super mild.
The best thing- my partner has had the same results! Though we have entirely different skincare needs we have found a routine that works for both of us and doesn't irritate our skin.
I know this isn't going to work for everyone. I've tried so many skin care lines that have worked for others with no results for me. My skin was always too sensitive to handle the harsh ingredients in other skincare lines. If this is the case for you I'd recommend trying this line. As stated in other reviews, the tiny bottles last forever ( I wouldn't recommend buying the full size as ounce for ounce the "five day" kit is a better deal). It just may be the miracle you were looking for.

I really really really wanted to like this skincare kit. After all the reviews that I read, and all the debating and researching, I decided to buy it. Unfortnunatley it didn't do anything for me at all. I was really dissapointed, actually I AM really dissapointed because I still have half of the bottles left.

I have bad acne, okay not super bad, its getting better, not like cystic anymore, but mild to medium. I have been stressed out in the last few weeks, not getting sleep, drinking a lot and just not taking care of myself. I thought this was the answer...well a step anyways.

I used this kit for about 2 weeks. The only thing I really liked was the cooling sensation it gave you. It didn't burn, and it felt kinda nice. However, I still woke up every morning looking...like crap. The 1st night after using the night cream, my skin felt velvety soft...like amazing!! But every night after that, it went back down to its original texture, and did nothing for me. I also kept on breaking out like usual, so I didn't help me at all.

I also am really mad that I didn't get the eye cream sample that every on here talked about. I really wanted to try it out and see how it works but after using this line, I really don't want to anymore.

I would pass on this one, I am sure there are WAY better products out there for less money...I am still on the quest actually...

This made my skin break out really badly. I'm not sure which of the products caused the breakouts, but I suspect it was the night lotion, it felt very heavy. I would absolutely not recommend these products, they are so over priced, and they don't do anything that they claim to.

I purchased the detox kit to try out this line. As a testament to how much I enjoyed it, I purchased regular size bottles of the cleanser, antidote lotion, the stress lotion, and the serum. I've been using the entire line for about 9 months and I've decided it's a wonderful line for people with angry skin. It certainly soothes and doesn't aggravate problems. I have been suffering from perioral derm and cystic acne forever and the line does not aggravate either condition since it doesn't have any laurel sulfates (thank goodness!). Before using the skyn line, I used the entire eminence line, which also is great for calming irritation. I purchased the skyn line because I was looking for a more active product line to speed healing of the left over red spots from old blemishes. Although the way the products are advertised, I expected them to be more active, but I'm not sure if I've noticed huge changes in terms of healing. Although not in the detox kit, I've been using the stress cream, which is $100! I'm not as fond of that cream as the oxygen night cream because it doesn't seem to moisturize well and hasn't seemed to improve skin texture/healing. I do think the wash is an excellent buy. I've been using the same bottle all 9 months and it's nowhere near empty. It foams beautifully with only a tiny drop and is a perfect cleanser to use with my clarisonic. I only gave this kit 4 lippies because it is a VERY expensive line for the amount of product you actually get, but overall it does a great job at keeping my skin stabilized.

This works well for me. I have combination sensitive skin with occasional breakouts. I bought the 5 day Detox kit and it really made a difference in my skin. I thought I looked a lot more rested and it calmed down some of the redness and itchiness that I sometimes get. The 'cooling' feeling from some of the products is a bit different and made me nervous at first but it brought no irritation or ill effects. I know I'm going to love that in the summertime!

They 5 day daily detox kit is a good way to try out things in the line. I have acne prone skin and this works really well. My only complaint is that it is so expensive.
My skin is much softer now and also has so much less acne. I still use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser in the shower and use the glacial cleanser in the morning. I never got to using the toner. I really like the antidote moisturizer I am on my 2 large bottle of that now. I am on my 1st large container of the oxygen infusion night cream.
What I really like about the moisturizers is that they work without being dirty or oily. I use witch hazel for a toner because I am a big fan of witch hazel.
The antidote does have a tingly feeling kind of like mint. It does not burn my skin at all. I actually enjoy the feeling.
I got this from Sephora and since sephora has a money back guarantee then you can try it at no risk.
It definately lasts longer than 5 days.

I have had this kit for over three months now and still haven't exhausted my supply! I've used the cleanser religiously, you only need two pumps, it lasts for months, I think if I bought the large size it would last me a year! Love the Oxygen Infusion night cream, but I actually use this occasionally as my all-day cream, (just for these real frigid winter days) and my skin is still smooth at the end of the day...and no breakouts! I've always avoided any form of moisturizer, since my skin is on the oily side, with some breakouts and rosacea on my cheek area. These products really help with my problem areas and they are not harsh, although the aromas are almost overpowering. The Antidote daily serum feels really tingling but dies down after a while. I usually spray over it with my trusty Caudalie Grape water (can't live without this) Don't really like the Arctic face mist, it lives up to its name TOO well, though I will probably enjoy using it in the summer.
These products have really improved the look of my skin and all my problem areas have really been minimized. Notice my skin looks much smoother than it usually does. I see that many people dont like the smell of these products, but I love the smell, especially the Oxygen infusion. I am very sensitive to smells and there is something very purifying and clean and calming about the smell.
I recommend this kit for anyone who wants to try something really unique and different from the usual slew of skin care lines.

I started off with this kit and thought THIS IS IT!!! I have finally found the products my skin needs to be on it's way to recovery :) I was having a mild blemish problem that began to become a bit more than mild-Cystic acne OUCH! At the advice of my buddy Lisa over at b-glowing.com (fantastic place to shop by the way) I ordered the kit. I do NOT for one second regret this purchase. The small bottles definitely last for more than 5 days I'd say about a month depending on how many pumps you use. The cleanser is my favorite cleanser of all times. The Antidote lotion is a bit light for my skin type Combo/dry-but the coolness that's felt is definitley NOT a burning. There are days when I hardly notice the cooling. It just feels cool NOT stinging or burning. I have become such of fan of this line that I own every single item they produce. I am currently using the brand new Stress Defense Cream and love that it really brightens my skin. It is expensive though at $100 a pop-just goes to show how much I LOVE this line. I get many compliments on my skin and have been told that my skin "just glows". I use nothing but Skyn Iceland at this point and can say YES I have seen the benefits of using this line. My face is clear, healthy, and radiant.

I just got this on Ebay for very much less than the usual $45 price tag. I don't know how I feel about this so far, maybe it's way too soon to tell. However, while I do like the icy minty tingle of these products, sometimes they give me a headache, but the scent is not bad. I did notice that my skin seems to be very red after using these products, hope this is just temporary, as redness and irritation are supposed to be gone after using these products. So far, I like the cleanser which is very lathery if you only use a tad, the toner is very icey and tingly and refreshing, but it may contain irritating ingredients, will have to consult my Cosmetics Cop ingredient book. The lotion seems useless to me, due to the fact that it contains no sunscreen to speak of. I do like the Night Cream however, and would recommend using it in the day if you need more moisture. Even though my skin is combo/normal, I fear this may dry me out. Will have to use more and update to see how this fares over the long run. Overall, the concept is pretty cool (excuse the pun!).

I haven't posted a review in a looong time but, i have been using ProActive and Clean and Clear and various Sonya Dakar products which have done ok with my acne prone skin. But, i had a bit of folliculitits(ingrown/plugged hair follicles that resemble cysts but they are red bumps that itch) so i tried this product b/c it's supposed to calm stressed skin. I had quite a few red marks left and they weren't healing but i have to say i have noticed a huge difference in a small amount of time. I also use C&C Continuous Control mixed w/ProActive cleanser once a day as a 3min mask so i dunno if that combined w/SI has cleared my skin but wow what a difference. I always have at least to or three active pimples lurking around, and my skin is usually uneven, dull and sensitive but my skin isn't "red" or bumpy anymore, it's calm, smooth, and doesn't itch!!! I do use the toner sparingly just one spritz, the smell isn't that bad, in fact i kind of like the scent of SI's products, the Antidote i also use very little and lightly pat, it doesn't moisturize as others have posted but i just dab some vaseline on any dry patches b-4 makeup. The night cream is not heavy which i like but it boggles my mind that i haven't broken out from it b/c it has Vit. A/E which i always thought broke me out(can't use retin A/micro ever) so i'm just gonna go with it :). I think that if you have sensitive/red/acne-prone skin this will help with calming and balancing out your overall complexion, it's worth the price and the fragrance(if you are really sensitive to scents) b/c my skin is no longer irritated or breaking out. Just use very little and it lasts a long time!
UPDATE 8/27/06: Still loving this line, i am no longer getting "cysts" or ingrowns/plugged follicles and the texture of my skin is so smooth....HG-Ordered full sizes and another kit for travel.
Update: I will still use this when the seasons change because, i am a bit dryer now(not complaining) and i'm not breaking out-i do think this is a de-stressing product and i don't think it's a line to use on a constant basis, still happy with the line!
