I really like this product ! It is nice to apply, it really gives a kind of natural glow. You may end up with cakeface, if you dont apply it like in the description. I have always preferred liquid foundation until now, but this is a powder foundation thats easy to apply, maybe better than liquid . The only disatvantage is the coverage, its sheer . However since I have been using this product my acne problem has stopped , and now I dont need so strong coverage anymore. I advice you to use some concealer under the foundation, to cover the spots that needs some extra coverage.

I love how light this powder goes on... This is the most natural looking foundation I've tried! I use to MAC C40 and it has been discontinued and I was on a mission in finding a new powder. I love that I don't have to use very much for full coverage! After using this product, it has helped me with my acne and lessen the break outs. I highly recommend this product. The other benefit is that this powder lasts a long time. I would say for my last purchase it lasted me 11 months!

I love this product because it really helps to retain most of the oil from my oily skin! This goes along great with the mineral veil, too! It lasts all day and stays put! My only complaint is that the packaging doesn't come with a clear lid that stops the powder from spilling out :(

Well I used bare minerals for about 18 months and I was impressed. Then about a year ago I went on a bit of a cosmetics craze trying to find the perfect makeup. Part of this involved buying a lot of different foundations. I bought creams, liquids, powders, etc. All of them with many pros and cons. Today I used my bare minerals for the first time in a year and I have once again been impressed. Bare minerals does have some downsides. It doesn't give the best coverage, it doesn't last the longest and it doesn't do the best job of controlling shine. As a matter of fact it can add some shine. However I have decided that Bare Minerals does take care of the most important elements for me. It evens out my uneven skin and gives me a nice glow and most importantly it gives my face a nice soft and natural finish. At my age this is the most important element of a foundation. Last year I used a few liquid foundations that gave remarkable coverage and had great lasting power but somehow I just looked older when I wore them.
I also hated the feeling of having so much makeup on my skin, hated touching my face. Bare minerals really does feel like there is nothing on your skin and it looks like there is nothing there either, except for that your skin looks smooth and even. Now I just feel foolish for spending so much money this past year on a bunch of foundations that I am probably never going to wear again, as I have pretty much decided to go back to Bare Minerals. Merle Norman makes a beautiful mineral makeup too, maybe even better than Bare Minerals, however they have a very limited selection of shades and most of them are too pink.

My only complain is that taking off the plastic tab for the new sifter is a PAIN IN THE ASS. I'm very happy for the new sifter though. My BE concealer has the old one and on my trip to Hawaii, let's just say that it was a hot mess. The makeup, however, is fantastic. I put on some moisturizer, use the swirl, tap, buff method with my mini kabuki brush I got free from the BE store, and my face looks flawless. If you want to build the coverage, do the STB method, let it sit for a few minutes, then do it again. I have Filipino skin and this foundation is perfect for me. It also keeps my face from looking harsh and pale in the winter when all we have is fluorescent lighting. My visible pore and the little lines on my forehead are less obvious and my skin looks glowing. I also like to top it off with the BE Morning Burst spray for a little extra moisture.
I tried the matte version before in the same color as a free sample and I hated it, so I wasn't sure if this was going to be my thing. My mom uses it too and her skin looks fantastic as well, granted we take good care of our skin. This is amazing foundation, I totally recommend it!

I am never, ever going back to a NASTY, thick CREAM foundation!!! I have used BE minerals for at least 5 years, and still love it. I have tried other mineral foundations, but still like BEs the best. A beautiful, dewy natural face. SOO many compliments on my skin, which I know when it comes off I have a very uneven skin tone, and many-a things to hide! DO not like the BE Matte foundation however, but like I said, this one stays a winner. I really believe a lot of people who don't like may apply too much or not apply it correctly. I used to apply way too much and it was just stacked on my face, exposing everything. It also makes a huge difference to have a nice brush and a CLEAN brush. Build up of the makeup in the brushes causes PIMPLES! & bad application. Get the brush shampoo! Oh yeah, and recently the packaging on this foundation changed to include a turny-top that shuts inside to keep the powder from going everywhere! GREAT!

I do like this mineral foundation, it makes me skin glow and goes on effortlessly, I always get compliments on how my skin looks with this on - flawless. Ive been using this for about 6 months or so, it would last about 6hrs then shine would break through (not a problem really just one touch up is all i needed).

So why did i stop using this, well it started to clog my pores :( some nigh after wearing this after a long day from work i would look at my forhead and see all my pores clogged - i would literally get an extractor (the tweezerman one is excellent) and sit there extracting each pore of the gunk the foundation left behind - disgusting.

Overall, a nice foundation i would wear this only for nights out, not everyday as it WILL clog my pores. Since then i have moved onto MAC Face & Body which is a dream, i get the same look and this doesnt clog my pores.

I've used Bare Escentuals off and on for 7-8 years and I always come back to it! I love the glow it gives my skin and I never breakout while using it, even if I forget to wash it off before bed. I always get a lot of comliments on my skin when I wear BE foundation. The key is to start off with a light hand and just add more in stages.

Fantastic! I love this product, and it's amazing how it smoothens out the skin! Even when I have a really "bad-skin-day", you know when you wake up, look in the mirror and the skin is just red and awful. Well, Bare Escentuals solves the problem!

I would say, that if you have a lot of break-outs, it may not work as the best coverage, but it's great covering redness and scars.

BE was my HG f/d for a few years...I thought I'd never go back to anything else and this was it. And it's not bad, I still use it from time to time, but I have tons of other f/ds that I'd pick over this, from liquids and creams to other mineral f/ds like Everyday Minerals. First off, you definitely need to use a primer with this, and secondly, it does have a tendency to cake and pool in areas if you have it on for too long. So this by itself does not prevent the oilies at all. I find that this shade works better for me than the tan one, which looks a bit orangey. The other thing is, I'm kinda over messy powder f/d and like it more in compact.

Edit 2013: I had stopped using this product because I was trying different things. When I went back to it I noticed by the end of the day I had small bumps all over my face. Not exactly pimples but bumps. They went away after I washed my face. So I'm assuming I developed a reaction to this.

I've been using Bare Escentuals for about 4 years. I really like it. I have oily acne prone skin. Tradition liquid foundation melted off my face. This product does not. If you have very oily skin you will get a some shine as the day goes on but it won't like your makeup is sliding off. Just use some sort of shine control and you won't have a problem. It also doesn't feel heavy at all and didn't cause me to breakout even if I didn't was it off before bed.

I am 47 years old and I have been using this product for 3 months and I love it!! My husband loves it on me too. It gives very good and natural looking coverage. I have found the warming method works the best however (warm your brush with a blow drier then swirl, tap and apply). I have had two times where it has caused itching but both times were on the same day that I exfoliated. Other then that I have had no problems. I have found it also hides my fine lines but I really don't have any major wrinkles. I also do not see where it takes any longer to put this product on then a liquid foundation that I used for 34 years.

This product does really great things for my skin. It doesn't break it out AT ALL (all the other powders and foundations I've tried do) and has great coverage. I love the feel of it and it lasts all day! It can get a little cakey if you're not careful and a little oily. It is a bit overpriced though, and I hate the packaging. It's constantly spilling out no matter how tight I close the lid, but I will buy it again just because it makes my face look great and it's natural (with spf too!)

I was wary of trying a loose powder foundation. It's just messy and takes too much time. And the starter set for this foundation comes with the mineral veil which did not make sense to me - setting a powder with a powder? But after hearing all my friends rave and go on about it, I finally caved and bought a set. I'm Medium Tan in BE and NW35 to NC42 in MAC for reference. The BE is a tad bit dark on me but I just mix a little of the mineral veil & I'm set. I did end up hating the loose powder like I predicted but I actually liked the foundation more than I thought I would. I just always passed it off as something only people with great skin (aka all my friends) could wear as it doesn't seem like it has any coverage properties. It definitely doesn't cover as well as my MAC studio fix powder but BE does cover more than I thought it would. I was also very impressed with the staying power as it lasted 10+ hours at work. But I hated the sheen. I already have oily skin and I don't need any added shimmer. I knew there were light-reflecting particles in this foundation but I didn't expect for this to make me look like a disco ball. AND it made me break out to boot! My face was all scratchy & itchy and I was breaking out in places I've never broken out before. I was so disappointed but I did end up trying the Bare Minerals Matte formula which is PERFECT & doesn't make me break out. But as for the original formula....I'll pass.

I have always shyed away from anything loose (powder) unless it's blush or eye shadow. I tend to wake up late and have to rush with the make-up, that's why I go for pressed powders.
Only reason why I bought this was because I read in Glamour that supermodels swear by it for a flawless face. Well.. Who wouldn't want a flawless face?
Am sad to say that I am not impressed. This makes me look orange-like a fake tan got wrong. Maybe I've got the wrong colour but I do have golden Asian skin, as described in BE website.
Takes too much effort of brushing this into skin, and even more if want more coverage. Doesn't set the concealer at under-eye area and my eyes doesn't have the powder base I need to apply eyeshadow.
I am going back to Clinique and sponge applicator. Think I need more than BE to look like model. Hahaha..

So I used Bare Minerals waaayyy back in the day before mineral makeup was even popular. I used it for about 2-3 years, which is the longest I've ever been loyal to a makeup, and I got everyone in my office using it after they asked me what foundation I was using. So why did I ever leave it? Really, I'm not sure, I was an Everyday Minerals fan for awhile, but honestly even their original glo formula didn't give me the glowing look I love from my BE. After being disappointed with drugstore versions of MM (maybellines mineral power being my favorite of the ds versions), I went to Ulta and bought myself some BE in Medium Tan...perfect color match and I'm about and NC37 at the moment. What I love about BE is a little goes a long way, in fact, you can't use too much or u will look like the tin man from the wizard of oz. However when applied lightly I really love the glowing, yet flawless look only this product can give me. This is the only mineral mu that actually minimizes my large pores. Setting it with Mineral Veil will minimize pores even more, and add to the flawlessness so I highly recommend it. This lasts all day on my oily skin, and also I get WAY less oily than I did with liquid foundations. Ever since I switched back my boyfriend keeps telling me that I have been looking extra pretty lately, and what have I been doing different...BE that's what! I have tried the new BE Matte version, and was VERY disspointed. It has no coverage and is easily duped by cheaper drugstore brands. The original is the best IMO!

This is an excellent foundation. The coverage is light and it's so natural looking. It's also excellent because it doesn't set into your fine lines and wrinkles, like with liquid foundations. For the those who want a little more coverage, I suggest using a tinted moisturizer before. My only problem is the packaging quality-it can be very messy.

The only makeup I will ever wear. This makeup applies so flawless. I never have any "lines" of demarcation on my face (like often happens with liquid foundation). In the summer, when it's super hot outside, and I'm sweating like crazy, this makeup does NOT streak at all. If you pat your face (instead of rub it) your makeup will seriously last all day long. As a matter of fact, I wear this makeup to the gym -- and I'm a serious exerciser, not one of those people that walk at 3.0 on the treadmill while reading a magazine. I sweat my a$$ off, and yet, when I finish my workout, I still have some coverage ... with NO streaks!

On a side note, this makeup does transfer onto clothing if rubbed so if you're going to be wearing a light colored shirt, do put your shirt on BEFORE your makeup to avoid pulling your shirt on over your face. I've ruined many white shirts that way. It might just be me, but even Revlon's "Colorstay" makeup (what I used to wear before Bare Minerals) seemed to transfer onto my clothing if rubbed.

Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this makeup. They are coming out with a new "Matte" formula that I cannot wait to get my hands on. I'll write a review on that when I get it.
