The consistency was nice and it was moisturizing as well, without being greasy. It didn't leave a white cast on my skin, BUT it was beginning to make me break out, so I had to stop using it. *Sigh* I wish I didn't have reactive skin.

This product was too thick to use on my face, but was fine on my body. I usually don't pay this much for SPF on my body though, so I don't think I'll repurchase. People with sensitive skin should know that it has a fragrance.

I went on a quest to find the perfect sunscreen, and had to keep looking after trying this one. High marks for the fact that it is cruelty free! That criteria eliminated tons of products immediately. I expected no problems, since this was a natural product, however, this was the first skin product I have tried that seemed to elicit an allergic reaction. I got little white bugbite-like bumps all over the areas that I applied the lotion, all itching like crazy. It never really settled in to my skin, and felt tacky all day. BUT, I did not burn where it was applied, so it did do its job. Just wanted to share my experience with the skin reaction.

I bought the reformulated version which is SPF 45 and found it really greasy. It never seemed to sink in and definitely requires powder over it unless you are dry, dry, dry. Scent is nice but unnecessary. Overall a meh.

I was looking for a sunscreen that I can wear on my face every day, and decided to try this stuff after reading all the good reviews. For reference, the kind I got is SPF 45. I apply a very small amount to my face every morning after moisturizing and before applying makeup. The smell is nice and there is minimal shine..although you definitely have to be careful not to apply too much or you will look greasy. This sunscreen gives my skin a glowy, dewy appearance without looking oily or casting a white film. I'm very happy with the purchase, especially since I live in Texas and am exposed to high UV every day.

I live in Hawaii and use this as my facial sunscreen everyday. It is non-greasy, smells great, and is very water resistant.
In the winter I find that my skin needs a little more moisturizing so I will apply this over my moisturizer but in the summer this is all I need.

Ok, first off, I have acne prone oily skin. I prefer products that don't contain a lot of chemicals in them, so was quite pleased when my mom got this for me. I really like alba products, and wanted so much to like this. I do like the product, but I think I would reccommend this to dry skin types. It made my oily skin pretty shiny after a little while. It smells nice, but its like 9 bucks for a 4 ounce container. I won't be getting this again, but if you have dry skin, try it.

UPDATE: I learned more about sunscreen ingredients, and now would NEVER use this sunscreen again - it contains oxybenzone, which accumulates in body tissues, is a hormone disruptor and potentially a carcinogen. Do your own research to see if you feel comfortable taking the risk. I also do not want to use chemical sunscreens as they are less photostable, and they are all hormone disrupters (mimic estrogen).
OLD REVIEW:
what a great find! I was about to dish out the $ for shiseido's famous sunscreen but couldn't bear to pay over $30, so I did more searching on MUA...
bought this and am really pleased!
Pros:
absorbs well and quickly
no sticky or greasy feel
no white tinge left on my skin
smells great !! I hate sunscreen smell, and this smells fresh and nice!
has antioxidants which are super important for sunscreens!
is cheap! got mine for just $8.99 which is good for a high quality sunscreen.
I don't use it on my face though -- only on my body as I have a face ss - so this review does not count if you're looking to use it on your face.

I hate greasy, shiny sunscreens. I just dreed putting that stuff on my skin. I bought this sunscreen after a trip to Aruba..while there I got super tan, and hated it. I love nature and Islands but I hate gettting dark. I have light/med olive skin, and it gets dark fast in hot sun. I'm one of those people that when seeing people lying out on a sandy beach in the really hot sun, with no umbrella, I think *why*?? So damaging..give me shade.
A few months ago we went to the Bahamas and I had purchased this Alba sunscreen before we went. I came back from our trip light, the same color I was before the trip. It wasn't super hot like Aruba at all, but it was hot enough for my skin to get darker and it didn't. This smells really good, and is non-greasy once applied. Love this. A must have.

This is a good sunscreen, I presume, but not the best on your face. It broke me out twice and made me oily. But it smells good and isn't irritable on the skin. It also blends in well. Just don't use it on your face!

Adding another positive review for this sunscreen! I used this all winter and loved it. Sunscreen always makes my face break out so I never used it as much as I should (bad girl, I know). Now in my 30s & having found this sunscreen I am using it religiously. I use Banana Boat Faces in the summer for swimming as it is waterproof but it still gives me a few zits. So I tried this for winter - to cold to swim but we have lots of snow and bright, bright sunshine. I did not burn once and do not have any trace of a goggle tan from skiing!!! Fabulous stuff! I use a little jojoba oil to moisturize and let it sit for a few, apply sunscreen (it spreads so nicely), let it sit for a few then a little oil absorbing powder or makeup depending on my plans for the day. My skin was a little "dewy" by late afternoon but that is typical for me so I don't blame the sunscreen.
Most importantly, this product removes easily and completely and I mean completely with cold cream or an oil cleanser. I think this is the most important reason it doesn't break me out, it rinses completely off. Love it & will try it this summer - reapplying after swimming, of course!

Oh, this is the best. Let me explain:
1. It smells fabulous whereas most sunscreens smell like, well, sunscreen.
2. It soothes instead of stings.
3. It has green tea in it!
4. It's SPF30 but it doesn't leave my brown skin looking ashy!
5. It doesn't cause my sensitive acneic skin to break out!
6. It's often on sale at Whole Foods.
7. A little goes a long way.
My only complaint is really a complaint about sunscreen in general. I have oily skin (with some dry patches) and in warm weather, sunscreen increases the shine tenfold. It's kind of embarrassing. This product is no different, but because it has so many other things going for it, I think I have found the right product for me. I'll continue to buy two at a time when they're on sale at Whole Foods, just in the case Alba changes the formula in the future.

I wanted a sunscreen that was separate from moisturizer. This is working pretty well for me. I only use maybe a pea size, emulsify in my hands, and apply. It is very slightly moisturizing, which is all that I need. It is winter now and I love it. Will have to see how it fairs in the summer.
ETA: my skin started burning when I applied this. It got returned to the store.

The best sunscreen I've used - no greasies, no irritation, no breakout, no gross sunscreen smell. I'm very fair skinned and used this sunscreen exclusively in Mexico in August without burning at all. A little tan did sneak through, but I'm of the belief that a slight tan is healthier than nothing. This product has been reformulated since I last bought a tube, so I'll update when I try the new formula. Hopefully it will perform just as well!

I think I've found my favorite basic sunscreen. I just moved to a dry climate from a humid one, and it works wonderfully to moisturize a bit and help my flakies disappear in the morning. It is fairly thick, but spreads very easily. I usually end up overestimating the quantity and have to rub a lot in, but it disappears and doesn't feel greasy on my skin after a minute or two.
If I still lived in Alabama, I probably could not use this product.
This doesn't sting, and has a pleasant scent - and I usually hate scent in my skincare products.

Overall, this is nice sunblock. The formula is gentle and very moisturizing. The scent is fresh and subtle. The tube is a good size - just enough product but still small enough to stash in a small purse.
Unfortunately, the product claims to be water resistant, but when it somes in contact with moisture it does wear off. I also found that I was still getting freckles and color.
I will finish up the tube, but this is not strong enough sunblock for my very fair skin.

This is a natural, effective sunscreen in a small portable tube. A tiny dab is enough to cover my face because it is so thick and smooth. I took a lipstick off because it's a bit too greasy and can bother my eyes if I don't apply it carefully. This would be perfect for colder weather. I like how it gives me a nice healthy glow. I alternate this with my Olay Complete moisturizer, which is lighter but tends to make my skin look dull.
