Scent: Gorgeous and sweet, strong enough to use as solid perfume, long-lasting.
Consistency: Firm, but melts easily onto fingertips for application.
Effect: Intoxicating, warming and relaxing. Leaves skin very soft and sweetly scented.
Packaging: small aluminium screw-top tin, handy and well-crafted but may dent.
Overall: One of my favourite Lush products - I carry it everywhere.

Lush counter in my country was about to be closed down, so I got this for a song. It comes in a cute tin box, and smells like heavenly jasmine. I really want to like this one so much.

Alas, I got literally physically ill whenever I put this on!!! I dont know why, I would feel nauseous, dizzy and almost passed out.

It's just too bad, so I passed this away to a friend who loves it so much.

Oh, how I wish I could purchase this in Canada!
Smells like the Youki-Hi bath bomb, Godiva Shampoo bar and Flying Fox shower gel.
The texture is creamy, I life a bit out with the back of my finger nail smoosh it between my wrists. I can't vouch for its effectiveness as a temple balm, but as a solid perfume, it's stellar.
I paid an astronomical amount of money for this on Ebay compared to what it retails for in UK stores, but it was still worth it, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Lush: BRING THIS BACK IN NORTH AMERICA!! (please?)

It's funny how one thing leads to another with Lush products.....I bought the Godiva shampoo after I fell in love with its scent and then I found out from this website that flying fox was the same smell. I had no idea that this scent was calming before I bought Godiva, it was only when I smelled Godiva by chance and felt instantly serene that I noticed its effect. When I read the flying fox temple balm product description I decided I DEFINITELY needed it - I am a stroppy cow and a half!! Some days it's all I can do to keep from strangling someone especially in my busy job. This costs quite a bit for a temple balm and comes in a teeny package but it's worth the money. The packaging keeps the dirt out (which I find a problem keeping it in my bag constantly) and it smells divine - you dont' need much at all. It really does help me calm down and doubles up as a perfume for me as well. I love this and I will buy it again...not that a "temple balm" is my idea of an essential item but if I did NEED one, this would be it.

Discontinued in the US and Canada, but still available in the UK!

If you're a fan of the jasmine-honey loveliness of Flying Fox shower gel and Godiva shampoo bar, then this temple balm will suit you just fine!

I think the concept of a 'temple balm' is a bit daft... I wouldn't see this stuff doing any good being rubbed about on my temples. Got some of this as a present (two tins, actually). Ended up using it as a solid perfume, and still continue to do so. I even rub a tad in my hair at times :-)

The scent is strong (but not over-powering), and very long-lasting.

Gorgeous!

Love the scent.. Spicy jasmine – yum! I wear it as a solid perfume. The little tin is cute and convenient plus it lasts for ages. Very long lasting. A keeper:)

best. smell. ever. like early spring, when water is gushing through the streets, the sun is shining, there is a warm breeze, buds are coming out on the trees and you can go without a jacket for the first time in months. i wear this as a solid perfime too, and nothing, bar nothing, makes me as happy as the flying fox scent. i stocked up when this was discon. Cheap for how long they last.

I really wanted to like this product after all the great reviews on MUA and the lush website. I think that its ok for the money as it;ll last a long time but the smell is just overpowering and is sickly. I kind of agree that it has a bit of a medicinal smell but it also reminds me of the horrible 'perfume' i would make as a child out of bits of leaves and flowers. Might continue trying it but its overpowering in a sweet way that i can almost taste it! not sold on this one im afraid!

Edit
Taken one lippy off it because it just makes me feel sick. Not sure what it is about it but it really does make me feel ill and then i have this bad taste in my mouth (n.b. im not putting it anywhere near my mouth) Weird!. Had to wash it off my wrists the when i tried it again yesterday.

I scrape some onto the front of my nail and apply everywhere I'd normally apply perfume. It's a lovely jasmine, but totally disappears in about 3 hours.

I bought this product because it had high ratings on MakeupAlley, I was dissapointed :(
I love the smell of jasmine, it's my favourite scent, and I love the jasmine-scented products from Lush in particular (youki-hi, fairy jasmine, alkmaar).
To me it doesn't smell sweet, or sexy, which is what I love about jasmine. The scent was overpowering, and it smelt .. medical, is the only word I can think of. I wont wear it again, not even once, which is saying something as usually I'm quite fickle when it comes to scents.
My first reaction was that it must have been in the sun for too long because the surface looked cracked and yucky. However as soon as I ran my finger over it, it magically melted or something because the consistency was fine, it went on smooth. I couldn't actually see the balm on my fingers, but when I pressed them to my temples/wrists I could tell it had worked, so if you ever try it yourself DON'T try to scoop the mixture out, just gently run your fingers across. I've sinced looked at other LUSH balms and they are all the same so it must be something in the formula.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite Lush product of all time. It smells fantastic! Don't assume that it's not worth it because of the price or how small of a tin it is- the tin I bought lasted me a year, even though I used 2x every day. (And when I used it, I tended to slather all over.)
However, I do have a few tips if you buy a tin:
1. Don't use too much- a little goes a long way, since it's such a strong scent.
2. Don't think that the scent disappears quickly and put more on after you've just used it, because you actually get used to the smell after a while and although you might not still smell it, others will.
It is absolutely worth the money! I will definitely buy it again!

This temple balm is a true scent of what the old Flying Fox shower gel used to smell like (see my long review to understand what I mean). It's the only product left from LUSH that lets me cherish the jasmine that I once knew.

Even though the scent is lovely, I hardly use it. I simply can't be bothered to rub some of the balm on to my wrists or neck (I'm lazy). Also the scent doesn't last long, and it's not that strong to begin with. I honestly don't know when I'm going to finish this temple balm, so I'll answer "No" to buying this product again.

I love this product. I use it every night after work and it calms me and gets me ready for bed. I also rubbed it around my temples while studying for finals and it helped me clear my mind and really focus. I hope LUSH never stops making this!

Oh jeez, I wanted to LOVE this, but I just think its OK. I put this on and 5 mins later my mum said OMG what's that stench! I decided not to let that put me off but this is too sickly for my tastes, i prefer something more fresh. One thing I can say is that it made me less stressed. It all comes down to personal taste i guess. Also I bought mine new from the store and the used by date is only 3 months away... very angry about that :(
