I have been using this shampoo on and off for the last 4 years. Its the only shampoo that i have tried and trust me i have tried a lot that gives me results that i like. It lathers really well, doesn't leave residue, it adds volume, my hair literally feels stronger when I use this shampoo. I have long thin curly hair and when ever i use this shampoo my hair feels fuller and thicker and my curls come out looking more defined. The ONLY bad thing about this shampoo is that it can be a little drying but if you use it in conjunction with a moisturizing conditioner it wont dry your hair.

I am surprised at the reviews stating this made their hair tangly. It was definitely the opposite for me, it made my hair very smooth and silky. Too much so that it weighed my hair down quite a bit. My hair is shoulder length and layered so I like it to be soft and "fluffy" rather than sleek. However, my hair is fine/medium and very healthy so I probably didn't need this much moisture. Plus, it has silicones and my hair does much better with shampoos that don't. It smells amazing though. I think if your hair was color treated and needed some love, this shampoo and conditioner would work just fine.

I bought this on a whim recently at Ulta. My blowdryer died so I went to get a new one and was also running out of shampoo so I decided to try something new. My hair is overprocessed and was starting to look severely damaged and was breaking off (the breaking off was due to the old blowdryer). I saw this and picked it up because it wasn't overly expensive ($10) and I have never tried a Paul Mitchell shampoo.
So glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised. It smells really good and is clear. A small amount goes a long way and I am typically one of those people who likes to use nearly a handful of shampoo because my hair is really thick. I only used about quarter size amount and it lathered really well, left my hair feeling light and voluminous and smelled so good!
It's been 2 days since I washed my hair and my hair still looks and feels clean and soft. Usually in such high heat and humidity (it's been nearly 100 degrees in the past few days) my hair dries up and kinks really badly. My hair is still straight and looks clean and much healthier. I feel like this product is going to save me from having to use the flatiron as much - so less damage!
Great product so far. I will definitely repurchase as long as nothing changes.

Love this! My hair is on the dry side, and very damaged so it generally hates most shampoos. Not this one!
This has made my hair super soft, and it does what it says on the bottle - my hair is actually stronger!
I had results in just a few washes, which just blew me away. I'm also using the matching conditioner, which is fantastic also.
The only thing I don't like is that my bottle isn't a pump. The conditioner is, but not the shampoo. Still the best poo and dish I've ever used. =)

This is the first time I have used a Paul Mitchell Shampoo and have been using for the last week with great results! I only need a small amount and this gives me a clean, fresh feel after shampooing and my hair feels like this all day. My hair type is coloured and normally oily at the roots and dry at the ends but after using this shampoo my colour isn't fading and my hair isn't oily at the end of the day and overall feels silky and has the shine to it. I'm going to purchase the conditioner next week as the big size bottles are currently half price at the salon where I go!

Favourite shampoo I've found - I think i'm on my 5th or 6th bottle. Leaves my long highlighted hair clean and soft without weighing it down. I use it with the matching conditioner and occassionally use a hair mask, which I would recommend to keep hair moisturised. I havent found a good moisturising shampoo that doesnt also weigh the hair down so rely on masks for moisure. This shampoo does everything else I need and leaves my hear clean, not weighed down and shiny.
EDIT: I've just knocked a lippie off as I think I've overdosed on this shampoo by using it for such a long time. My hair became fairly dry and rough. Moral of the story - its a good idea to alternate your shampoo and not use the same one all the time as it loses its benefits

I really like both the shampoo and conditioner, I got a deal at my local cosmoprof 1L shampoo 500ml conditioner $15 . . .steal!
I agree that it isnt very moisturizing, however this is my 2nd round with this shampoo and conditioner and my hair does feel stronger.
I have just below shoulder legnth hair, very fine in texture, pretty thin in appearence, fragile, wavy, sometimes slightly frizzy virgin hair.
Ive been doing everything i can to try strenghen my hair after abusing it with clip in extensions and flat ironing.
I feel like finally my hair is growing fuller and longer than its been in the past 4 years.
I may switch up and rotate with a moisturizing shampoo, maybe Joico (although i vaguely remember my scalp and neck reacting to this), but untill i find a nice moisturizing S&C to rotate with il stick with my PM S&C and a pre-wash olive oil treatment on the ends!
=)

I had damaged hair and had to get it cut shorter. My hair dresser recommended this for me but I saw no change. I could barely get it to lather through my hair and it would get in a tangled mess.

My HG shampoo. I love the gentle cleanse I get, the lather and the smell of it. I love that it doesn't leave my hair dry or feeling worse off and that a little will go a very long way.

My hair had started to thin a bit and I bought this set and a set of Nioxin. I started using Nioxin and it felt good for a while, but somewhere along the line, it started to weigh my hair down, and I decided to try this shampoo/conditioner set. Like nioxin, I have noticed that this set has also minimized the hairs that come out in the shower. It has a nice feeling in your hair when shampooing and the conditioner feels just right, too. I always feel good after using this product, and today, especially, I felt like I had a new head of hair. It was so clean and shiny and full and bouncy. I would definitely recommend this product to you if you would like to minimize breakage and have a nice head of hair. I love my hair with this product. I hope that you will, too!

I bought this shampoo and conditioner a few days ago. It was more than I normally spend on hair care, which is why I gave it a 4 for price. I did not care for the shampoo the first couple times. Today I used it with the conditioner and used my hair dryer. I was absolutely shocked that my hair actually looked clean.

I bought both the shampoo and conditioner for around $26 total-- so about $13 bucks apiece.
This was a little over a month ago, after i had applied a haircolor stripper to my hair twice (so you can imagine how dry my hair was by then). I actually went into the salon with the intention of buying a redken protein-infused conditioner, but they didnt have the one i was looking for, and the sales SA recommended this one and its conditioner counterpiece.
I had read some other reviews saying that the shampoo was a bit drying, but i dont find that to be the case at all-- i'm left with a nice clean feeling (as opposed to how some other shampoos just dont feel like they're getting rid of the gunk in my hair). Normally i use Pantene shampoo and conditioner, and dove conditioner every now and then, but after using these, i find that my hair ends up feeling softer after its dried. Still though, this is a bit expensive, so i dont use it with every wash. just every 3rd wash, actually, as i still use the pantene, and i also use a shampoo to help with dandruff (i use T-Gel).
I straighten my hair maybe once a week or so, and had applied another striiper and have also dyed my hair since purchasing this product, and i realy do think its helped my hair get sronger-- there are less hairs in the shower drain, and less on my brush.
I also like the smell-- not overpowering, but different than a lot of others.
After using the haircolor stripper, i needed a conditioner and/or shampoo with protein so my hair wouldnt re-darken, so i had to buy SOME variety of one anyways-- i'm glad i picked this one!
UPDATE
now i only use this every so often, as i find that my hair doesnt need any more protein. this is NOT for every day/every was use! too much protein will make hair feel crunchy/dry!
i've switched to a sulfate free shampoo instead :)
knocked off 1 star b/c it isnt good for every wash

I have used this shampoo a few times, only when I find it on a steep sale. I love the scent and it gets my oily scalp clean without drying out my ends. I don't think that my hair is necessarily stronger because of this, but it does stay cleaner longer, and it doesn't feel weighed down.

I love this shampoo and the conditioner as well. I have fine thin hair and I love to dye it. I was constantly having hair breakage because of all the damage. I wanted to grow out my hair, but it was almost impossible. I tried many other shampoos and this brand by Far is the ultimate for me! I have been using it for over a year and now my hair is the longest it's been in 4 years of trying to grow it out! Definately love this! Oh, and it smells fabulous!

I have been using this shampoo for over a year and I like how it cleanses my hair and makes my blonde hair look alot cleaner and brighter. I must say that I do have to wash my hair every other day as it doesn't keep the hair looking clean for more than 2 days. I do have bleached blonde hair that is thin and gets greasy quickly. My hair hasent improved in texture, hasent become thicker or alot healthier whilst using this shampoo but I have been losing alot less hair when I brush my hair which must be a good thing. More about the product itself, basically it is a clear liquid in a white bottle and lathers pretty well. It has a nice smell when you apply it to your hair and goes away pretty much straight away when I have done blow drying my hair. Very good shampoo to use on the daily basis or every other day, would I purchase again, I would probably have to say yes due to the fact that it does cleanse my hair well and leaves it looking super clean. I also like the fact it doesnt weigh my hair down and makes styling super easy. Overall a good shampoo to use when you like paul mitchell product line.

This shampoo and its accompanying conditioner are for fine, and/or weak, gummy hair that is overworked, overprocessed, and in need of strengthening. Note I did not say "fairly healthy" or "dry" or "normal to dry". Why a person with that kind of hair would try a product like this and then rate it poorly is beyond me. In any event, I love this stuff. Paul Mitchell is one of my favorite haircare brands. I used this set together after I had been overmoisturizing/overconditioning my chemically treated hair for months (on accident) and these products gave be strength, resiliency, and out of this world shine. Kept my hair on my head until I was able to trim all the unsalvageable mess away. Yes, the shampoo is clear, but after a few uses, your hair adjusts to it (providing you are following up with the conditioner, which does add a little moisture back for pliability. So if you are looking for a conditioning shampoo to moisturize or soften the hair, this is not it.

I have been using this shampoo/conditioner combo for about 10 months now and I LOVE it! My hairdresser, who has super bleached blond hair and uses these products, recommended them to me because my long hair was showing a good deal of breakage. Since about a month after I started washing with this shampoo I've noticed significantly less hair falling out in the shower and/or when I brush it. My hair is shiny and healthy with very few split ends anymore. The only thing I would change about this is that the scent is not very strong and does not linger on my hair for long.

I'm not really impressed with this product. I've been using it for months now, and I haven't seen much of a change in my long, fine hair. Also I really hate the smell. It smells too much like chemicals for me. We won't even get into the fact that it contains sodium laurel sulfate, which I should have known better than to buy something with it in it. I won't be purchasing this again.
