Ugh. I just received this in the mail, and I'm not a happy camper. I opened the bottle and immediately noticed that (a) the scent was barely detectable, and (b) what I could smell didn't smell like Egyptian musk. Egyptian musk is traditionally made with rose and patchouli, but what I love about the fragrance are the other notes -- such as amber, cedar, myrrh, vanilla, and almond -- that lend it depth. I don't get any of that in Body Time's Egyptian musk. Applied to my skin, the fragrance smells strange and unpleasant. It smells cloying and sour -- bleaah. I'm just hoping I can return or exchange this for something else.

The beloved Egyptian Goddess did not work for me. That particular Goddess was screaming at me all day. She was sharp, cloying, and eternal on my skin. She was MEAN! But this...this is divine. This oil is soft, clean, warm, and lingering. It is all I hoped that an Egyptian Musk would be. I think this elixir turns me into a goddess. I much prefer that to wearing one all day.

Warm, freshly showered skin, in the abstract. It's rounded out with the scent of clothes just removed from the dryer. I also get just a hint of fruit, perhaps apricot. Perfect for those days when you want a quiet skin scent. I wouldn't call it overly sophisticated, but that's kind of the point. It's quite subtle, but present. The only downside is that this is one of two oils that Body Time will not dispense in a roller-ball vial (the other is Amber). Since it's on the thick side, this is a bit inconvenient. Still, it's manageable enough to put my wrist over the rim of the bottle, and turn both upside-down. I can't imagine running out of this any time soon, but I'll probably repurchase. Compared to Auric Egyptian Goddess, which seems to be this oil's main competitor, Body Time's version is soapier/fresher, and less sweet. I can see the BT oil turning too soapy on some people's skin, while Auric's would be cloying on others'. As for me, I'm quite happy with BT. As with any musk-based fragrance, your nose might be unable to sense it after a few minutes, or even after a few seconds. If you're not sure whether it's faded on you, you should try asking someone else if they can detect it. A perfume oil is unlikely to fade quickly.

This is a light, clean musk, that's more of a skin scent really. As mentioned below, it seems to get stronger through the day and comes back to you as you move about, never overwhelming, just sweet whiffs. It's a good choice for no perfume days, or long rides in the car. The packaging could be better (yes, I know it's inexpensive), but a roller ball or a stick applicator would improve the application. It's a thicker consistency and it doesn't take much, only a drop, and you are set for the day. I think the customer service at Body Time is great. I ordered other perfume oils from them that didn't work for me and they took them back, no questions asked, and though I am on the east coast, and they are on the west, I got my order in under a week. I would recommend this to musk lovers, or skin scent lovers alike.

I'm a fan of Egyptian Musk, but this one went sickly sweet on me. I ended up throwing the bottle out.

I like this scent. On me it is more clean than musky so I will be wearing it to work as opposed to evening, but for $12 I am not complaining at all. I think I am more of a fan of more anamalic musks, because I think of 'dryer sheet' more than anything when wearing this (but in a good way, if that makes sense). I do enjoy it and am happy to own it. Unlike some others, this does not disappear on my skin.

I nearly fell out of my chair in laughter after reading the previous review, because I felt the same way when I first bought this product. However, having said that, I still LOVE this scent - it's something that subtly seems to come back to you during the day, even though it's hard to smell upon first application. I won't give up on Egyptian Musk just yet.

Compared this side by side with Auric Blends' Egyptian Goddess and have to say I much prefer Auric Blends' version. This goes on stickier thanks to the thickness of the oil (a drawback in my tropical climate), and I almost popped a vein trying to smell this on my wrist. I smelled something vaguely clean and musky, but honestly, I had to strain to smell anything at all. If you're a musk fiend this would be a nice, affordable addition to your collection, but I know which one I would repurchase: Egyptian Goddess.

I just want to bathe in this stuff and smell like it forever. I think it smells so amazing I can't believe anyone would not like it. I think it smells like the most perfect, clean, natural, pretty smell anyone could ever wear. I just love it.

I was very very happy with my Body Time purchase. Everything arrived so quicky and the Egyptian Musk is so beautiful. Fresh, clean and very long lasting. It's a subtle scent and only a little bit is needed for a lovely skin scent. Body Time is a great store!

I like this stuff and I'm not one for musks in general. However, I had to give mine to my sister because my cats went crazy hissing and yowling at each other whenever I wore it. Go figure! So I would put an asterisk by my answer to "Would you buy this again?"

BodyTime Egyptian Musk was so talked about on MUA that I just had to try it.
Turns out it was way too strong on me and not very feminine, and worst of all
it seemed to get stronger as I wore it. Not for me.

I'm a big time Body Time fan but was terribly disappointed with this musk. I could smell it in the bottle but ooops! What happened? It lasted on my skin for less than 5 seconds. But that's okay. They have so many other excellent products that I'll always be a customer. Just not their Egyptian Musk. Common Scents has a much better version.

I love this product. It's very similar to Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess. In fact, it's rather similar to many good-quality egyptian musks. The ultimate scent of warm skin: it's clean and sensual at the same time. The consistency of this oil is thicker than any other one I've tried. I will always have some Egyptian Musk oil around, and I'd be more than happy to repurchase this one. But if something else that's equally good comes along first, there's no reason to own both.

This IS the warm scent of clean skin. It isn't especially evocative of anything other than that, which is part of it's appeal: beauty in simplicity. I love the fact that it is a "cuddly" scent without being sweet, cloying, or vanilla-based.
