This isn't too expensive, and it works fine. But I'm disappointed in the faint scent, which doesn't even smell strong while I'm in the shower, let alone during the day.

Works well enough, but has an unpleasant chemical smell. It doesn't smell like the shampoo at all.

This conditioner smells nice and is super light. It is probably best for short hair types because it doesn't really detangle at all. I use this on days i want more volume without having my hair weighed down by a heavy conditioner. It is a great conditioner for men.

This is the best conditioner on the market for fine to normal hair that does not need lots of conditioning. I have lots of fine wavy hair and most conditioner just make hair too soft and unmanageable. This creates health, shiny hair with lots of bounce. I pair it with shampure shampoo for best results. I have found nothing else that even comes close to this!

HG conditioner for me. Have been using this for at least 15 years, and love that this product keeps my hair thick and healthy. Has a pleasing natural scent, and I am one who cannot tolerate strong, perfumy smells.
This product also has relatively safe, natural ingredients.

Another winner! I use it as someone mentioned a few reviews down, more as a final rinse on my baby fine hair and, not only does it smell wonderful, it also works fantastically well.
The result for me is soft shiny, glossy healthy looking hair which isn't weighed down with heavy product - something which I've spent many years trying to achieve. I will definitely be repurchasing.

I'm an Aveda fan and when my oily hair was short, this worked OK, however, now my hair is quite long and needs conditioner at the ends, it is of no use at all. Leaves my hair limp and tangled - on the plus side, I donated about 3/4 of a bottle to my OH who used it up as shave gel and loved it. Oh well.

I went to an Aveda salon where the woman who cut my hair actually worked for Aveda at one point. I told her about the bad reviews here about this product, since I was surprised. She said the majority of the people who buy this are buying the wrong product. She said this shampoo + cond. (she called it a rinse) are for baby fine to normal hair that is frequently washed. Bascially for the person who washes and goes. It's not for dry hair, not for thick colored hair or course hair. I love this stuff personally. I have baby baby fine hair and a really sensitive scalp and this never irritates, plus I love the refreshing smell. I use a little pump full of cond. and put it through my ends before getting out of the shower - as a leave-in - doesn't weigh my hair down and actually gives my wavy hair some texture!

I gave this low ratings because no this does not work well for me as a rinse out conditioner but it does work brilliantly as a leave in. The formula is quite thin, borderline watery so it does not work as a deep treatment for my type 4 natural hair. But if you mix it with a little water and transfer it into a spray bottle..Behold a wonderful Leave-in Spray! The fragrance is divine regardless. Just don't expect this to conquer/tame thick curly or coarse hair cause it won't.

Doesn't sufficiently condition my normal hair. Formula seems pretty watery and rinses out fine. One of the most important reasons why I use conditioner, especially in winter, is to eliminate static flyaways. This conditioner does a poor job of that--I get that electrified look only a few hours after use. This product might be enough for summer. I received a bunch of sample-size containers which I will continue to use when I'm traveling, but as for purchasing a full size bottle on my own? Nope.

This did not work for me. It did nothing to actually condition my hair.
My hair was hard to brush/still quite tangled after use. Also made my hair feel a bit greasy. And yes I rinsed well.
I also tried leaving it in longer like a treatment but it still didn't help.
Smells good though.

This is fine as a treatment but not a conditioner. I wouldn't recommend this for even people with oily hair. I like the smell and the tingly feeling on my scalp. But, I have normal to oily hair and the conditioner actually leaves my hair dry. I feel like split ends may start and develop if I rely on this as my sole conditioner. Another reviewer wrote that this is good as a hair treatment where you use it from roots to ends and I would agree with that. When I used the Aveeno conditioner after washing off this conditioner, my hair looked healthier and my ends weren't screaming for hair band aids.
Suggestion: if you use this, please use another moisturizing conditioner on your ends along with it.

I'm not a big fan of this conditioner. It's pretty watery. Although I have very thin and oily hair, this doesn't really provide any moisture. It barely feels like I've even put conditioner in. This may work well for some, but just doesn't do much for my hair. Will not be repurchasing.

This is an excellent conditioner for a normal to oily hair type, and my husband loves it! Please do some research on Aveda before you make such accusations, that way you will get your facts straight. They are an amazing company doing much good around the world.

A little does not go a long way. I feel like I have to use half the bottle just to get it to spread in my hair. If they only made the consistency of this conditioner a bit more thick, then maybe it would be better. I will not repurchase.

This was a high priced endeavor into the wonderful world of scalp acne. Yes, that's right...big, juicy and very angry cysts on my EFFING HEAD!!!!! I bought the shampoo and the conditioner. I began breaking out all over my scalp in huge zits and while scratching my scalp in wonder and dismay I came across a review or two here where it was stated they had the same problem. What the hell am I gonna do with $35.00 worth of sweatshop products? Clean my clothes and tub with them, that's what, and MAYBE shave my legs with them, but idk. Did I say sweatshop? Yes I did. Aveda claims they "help developing countries by buying the ingredients from the locals and then employing them to make the products" is what the spa wench told me... no, wrong. Aveda scouts out the needed ingredients, and pays the natives of those countries a pittance to give up land for food crops to grow freaking Soap Bush, then kick them off their land and takes over the crops. The ones they keep on site, work like slaves picking and tending these crops, which are like cotton...they suck the land dry of nutrients. When Aveda can't get anymore crops from the exhausted land they move on. The locals can't grow a weed on that land then. Aveda is not a good company and their products are over priced and ineffective.

whoa, im surprised to see such a low rating for this. i got this as a sample at a hotel in monterey and was in love w/ both the shampoo and the conditioner that i kept em ( i never even use hotel stuff usually) used it again after a while just to get rid of bottles, lol and again loved the smell and the way my hair rinsed. i have mixed with black, curly hair that usually rinses very soft when i comb the conditioner thru and this has compared very closely to much more expensive conditioners that i use. i love the scent, and i love the way my hair feels sooo smooth and silky when i rinse it out.
i shampooed, applied the conditioner and combed it through with the small side of the comb & let it sit for 10-15 minutes or however long it takes to shave & wash my body then rinsed it out, it was gorgeous! and i have to hunt for certain conditioners that i can use and will let my curly hair look nice and healthy without a lot of weight (cuz usually i straighten my whole life, lol just getting to love my natural look but realizing not all conditioners make my natural hair work) well this one does. i like it alot and just wanted to check reviews before i bought it, since i have like 4 other conditioners that need to be finished but i love the smell of this one so much i will be purchasing even tho the reviews arent that great. will update if have any changes of heart muah!

I think they need to change the description of this conditioner. Many people get frustrated with this product because they are so use to the "quick result" stuff in the market. But in the long run, THIS is a product you want to keep in your bathroom.
Disregard what other people say and what the label instructs. Read what I write below and you will reap the TRUE benefits of this product.
This conditioner is meant to condition your SCALP and then your hair. Think about it, by the time your hair grows, it's very difficult to change the root of each strand of hair. BUT, if you use this once every week or two weeks, concentrating on really massaging this into your scalp, you will notice your hair becoming more healthy.
This conditioner is light in the sense that it does not soften your hair, or make it silky. It's not meant for that. Whenever you use other conditioner's that do this, it's really leaving some residue on your hair or stripping your hair of certain nutrients, making you feel like it's "soft" and "smooth." This simply cleans your hair and give's it the nutrients it needs.
THIS IS NOT a conditioner you want to use before a nights out. People will smell it and think "Granny" or "herbal" stuff. Use this at night or on a day when you will be spending the next few hours at home. Again, this is not a product you want to use if other people will be smelling your hair or will get close to you.
I have been using this for over a year, and I love it. My hair was badly damaged by coloring it. But after I started to use this, I noticed my hair starting to change back to it's original softness.
If you are into giving your partner showers, this is also a great product to use on them, concentrating again on the scalp to give them a refreshed feeling.
