When I first bought this product I thought it was a complete waste of money. I used it on dry hair (fine, very tangly) and it didn't do anything at all no matter how much I put on.
Then I moved it to the bath tub and I use it after shampooing (no regular conditioner). I wash my hair, and spread a tiny bit right after before using a towel. It does a great job at conditioning if used this way, it's much easier to detangle hair.
But if you have a lot of hair and coarse, I can see it not being very useful.
It's very pricey for the amount you get.

This product is such a rip off. There is nothing special about it, and it does not do what it claims. I have 2C type, wavy, thick, coarse, damaged, colored, dry hair. I used this product as well as the shampoo. Not only did it not fix the damage, I think it made it worse. The product build up of this stuff is off the charts, and I NEVER say things like that because my hair is so dry that it usually drinks up most damage re constructors. Well, not in this case. It really bothered me how much I paid for this stuff and how awful it was. A cheap and MUCH more effective alternative is Yes To Blueberries Health Hair Repair Conditioner. It's new. It's cheap. I love it. Aveda's overrated and overpriced.

This product helped my hair a ton! My boyfriend thought that I went to the salon after I used it, and he's oblivious to everything. My hair has been through a lot of processing and is very fine. This conditioner does not make it lifeless and limp, only gives it a more healthy appearance.

I really like this product. My hair is very long (about 24+ inches or to my waist), coarse, curly, and dry. (I am a woman of colour.) Even though this conditioner *is* expensive, it's one of the best I've ever used. (It's been difficult for me to find *any* hair products that work well with my hair.) I use it relatively sparingly: two to three times a week. It lasts me a long time. I find that it helps to moisturize and protect my hair. Recommended!

I love the product, the shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel amazing BUT it is SOO expensive I'm looking for another product because it costs more than its worth.

I like this conditioner, but don't like it enough to spend money on it. I'm currently using samples of the shampoo, conditioner, and treatment from the Damage Remedy line after seeing an ad for it in Vogue. I like that it's barely scented (probably from the ingredients) and it has a thick gel-like texture. However, I don't believe that it can truly "repair" split ends - at most it probably strengthens your hair shaft to prevent future damage, and if that's what you're looking for, you'll probably get better results from eating better and taking vitamins or biotin. That said, there are other hair care items from other natural plant-derived lines that are more affordable and get the job done just as well as this Aveda line (EO, Avalon Organics to name a few - I also like Phyto, which is at about the same pricepoint as Aveda). Not to say that the Damage Remedy line isn't good, it's just that there are cheaper alternatives out there and I didn't find this to be particularly strengthening or repairing for my hair. For reference I have fine, slightly wavy, non-color treated hair.

Ridiculously over priced, made hair super oily even when I have dry hair, only contains 200ml of the product so I used it up in a week, smell is not especially appealing. Overall, just don't get this product! Not worth the money! Any random drugstore conditioner would work better than this!

This line was my go-to before I went silicone-free. Occasionally I miss the amazing slip, smoothness, boinging coils, and smell of this product. If it weren't so pricey, I'd probably have kept on using it. Eventually I couldn't get moisture back into my ends which suffered from the silicone buildup most. *shrugs But if you like silicones, this stuff is amazing!

My hair is quite fine, wavy and dried out from box coloring. It felt like straw and was dull no matter what I tried including aphogee treatment. I also shed a lot. I got this after a haircut at an Aveda salon. It brought my hair back to life! It is soft and shiny and not weighed down. It also has not irritated my scalp which is pretty sensitive. The price is up there but I do not have to use much. I am a product junkie but this will be a repeat buy. So far has not changed shedding but that is also not one of its claims-just wishful thinking!

This is one of the best conditioners I have ever used. I have fine wavy/curly hair that easily blow dries strait. Plus, I color every 6 to 8 weeks. I can't use it every day because it will build up. Once a week works for me and that usually is my best hair day of that week! The downside is that it is expensive. Especially for the small amount. Right now I am using Pureology's new platinum haircare shampoo and conditioner on the days I don't use Aveda. Its all working for me. And by the way, it's very moisturizing.

It's an "okay" conditioner for my bleached hair. The shampoo is horrible. It dries it out more!

This is expensive, $24 for an average size bottle but I actually think its worth it. I have dry, coarse, thick, unforgiving hair and this conditioner is really the only one I have found to date that improves the texture of my hair. I use my regular cheaper shampoo and condition with this. The end result? - my hair is uncharacteristically soft, manageable, and appearically healthy. I strongly suggest trying this one out!!!
P.S. Loveee the smell too!

This is a good very moisturizing conditioner for dry or damaged hair, but it may be too heavy for hair that's fine. After using it for awhile I realized it was irritating my scalp.

Worst. Conditioner (and Shampoo). Ever. I bought this while I was going to cosmetology school since it was a great deal for large bottles. I do believe that my hair could use all the help it can get since it is color-processed and also acquires most of its damage from heat styling with irons due to my desire to tame my med-coarse hair texture. On Aveda's website they claim that this shampoo/conditioner combo will "repair damage with quinoa protein, while nurturing with rich coconut and babassu—lending new life to hair" (By the way, there is no such thing as "repairing" your hair. Protein can actually make it feel temporarily better, but in reality too much protein can cause it to become brittle and break.). In my opinion this description could not be farther from the truth. It leaves my hair feeling heavy and greasy due to the massive amount of silicones in it...the same ingredient in shampoos like Pantene. It does not leave my hair feeling moisturized, nor healthy, nor shiny, but rather dry, lifeless, heavy and dull. My husband has very normal hair and he claims that it does awful things to his as well. I have to admit that I have never had a good experience with Aveda shampoos or conditioners as they tend to be very drying. I had hoped that this one would be different, but it turns out it was worse. Some of their newer styling products are okay for those of you who insist on using a supposedly more "natural" product (compare ingredients to any other product and they are basically the same), but I would recommend that you stay away from this overpriced scam of a product called Damage Remedy.

For reference I have lots of thick, wavy hair that tend to get poofy and frizzy, so I use the straightener alot. Unfortunately too many times using the straightening iron, coloring, etc had really damaged my hair. I tried many different drugstore (Aussie, Garnier, Dove) and salon products (Redken, Bumble and Bumble,) with minimal results. I read good reviews and even though they were expensive, I was desperate. This conditioner and the matching shampoo have literally saved my hair. After I used them the first time I noticed a small improvement, but decided to stick it out. After I think the 3rd time, I could not believe what a difference in the texture and feel of my hair. I can't remember the last time my hair was this soft and shiny. I had forgotten how nice my hair could look. I do not even have to use a straightener anymore, I love this product.

This is much better than the shampoo it accompanies. It does not leave my hair coated and does moisturize it. Although when I put it on, I do feel that it's not gonna do anything, it does leave the right balance. I have wavy thick, long hair for reference.

While I like the rest of the Damage Remedy line, the conditioner just doesn't work for me. I feel like I can never get it completely rinsed out and, especially at the back of my head, my hair feels heavy and greasy no matter how much I try to avoid applying it there. I will stick with a weekly Damage Remedy shampoo/treatment combo - would return the conditioner, but it came with the set!

So...I am pretty much addicted to this product. I can notice a significant difference in my hair within 2-4 days. It leaves my hair extremely strong and helps smooth my split ends. I love it. I typically pair it with some olive oil (just a dime size amount) when I need a little extra moisture.

This is the conditioner that I am currently using, and I'm very happy with it. It's very thick and creamy and really coats my hair. I don't need to use a huge amount. My hair is really long, curly and full of tangles and this is able to control it. I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have super thick hair though, because this is heavy duty stuff. I like how it smells too. It has a faint black licorice smell. It's pricey, but it's worth it.
