This was the very first self tanner that I tried years ago. The formula moisturises my skin very well, but the scent is horrible. I know self tanners tend to smell but the smell of this one is nauseating. I wouldn't have minded but it took days for any colour to develop on me and even then it was very light. I much prefer Garnier or Dove, which have a much better colour pay off on me and don't smell as bad.

I bought this as it was on offer but have been very disappointed so far. Have used it every day for a week and seen little difference except that I keep getting little black patchy bits on my skin. This product smells terrible and takes forever to dry. I won't be using this again.

Arghhhh! Had my ups and downs with this product and used it on and off for about 3 years when I've needed a tan before going to a party and this was all I could find in my bathroom! If you're not worrying that it hasn't applied evenly then you're worrying about anything coming in contact with you when it's sinking in or worrying about the mess it's left on your body after showering. Let me just say that you have be EXTREMELY careful you apply it evenly because it's one of those fake tans that can easily streak like crazy. And afterwards, you have to continue being super careful that nothing touches your body for about 1 hour because it WILL streak! It takes forever to sink in and makes your skin feel greasy. Not to mention the SMELL! Though I can easily look past (...smell past? haha) a smell if it does a good job. However, the amount of work it seems to take to get non-streaky 'holiday skin' I don't think it's worth it. The next day when you go in the shower it comes off in some places and doesn't come off in others so you just look different colours all over the place. It's a mess basically! And if you exfoliate - nightmare! It comes off and you're left with the streaky skin you tried your hardest to avoid in the first place. I wouldn't recommend at all. Though I do have to say, after spending hours achieving the tan and praying before waking up in the morning and inspecting your legs, it looks pretty good. Not too orange. However I wouldn't waste my time with the 'light' one because it barely makes a difference and for the time you put in applying.....!! Hope this has helped and put you off lol. Go for St Moriz. Pretty much just as cheap and is WAY less hassle!!!

The sun in not my best friend.I always avoid sun becouse i am extremly pale and have so many moles all over my body and face.I like spending time at pool or having nice holidays on beach but i dont spend more then 20minutes in full sun.In summer i dont like my white skin while everybody have tanned skin,so i use from few years body lotions which provide gradual tanning. This from Johnson is my first ever and still love it,fortunately is pretty difficult to get it here .
After i use it for few nights i got yelow hands-palms,nails and spots, lines, stains every where.Imposibil to wear any skirt or dress for days. Then i realised this is normal becouse i use it too much and too often. So I wait it to fade for abit and then start again to use it.I start to exfoliate each night for few nigths and then every other night, this for 2weeks.Then I mix it my regular body lotion with this gradual body tann.I use it just 1quarter body lotion+Johnson 2quaerters.I did this for 1month and use it every night, next i switch to use the gradual tanner on his own every other night.I had amazing tanned skin and so many complements.Nobody belived me is fake tan,my work collegs was asking me on which beach she can get same tanned legs .:-)
I really love this and i had a time when i was searching just body lotions with same smell like Johnson ..so yes i do love the fruity scent. For moment like i said,is hard to find this product, but is going great with the Garnier summer glow..also avoid Nivea which gave me the worst stains-lines ever.
I rate this 4 becouse u need time and practice to use it and is difficult to get.

Im vientamese and I tan very easily so I dont need to use this too often. But when I do the results are great! I dont think this thing is orangey at all. The tan develops to how i would usually look when im tanned. If I use this consistenty over a week, it does look a bit too orange but I only need to apply this maybe 2-3 nights in a row to ensure my legs look good for a night out. I dont think this stuff has ever made me look patchy, I make sure I rub it well into my legs and lightly rub over my knees ankles and feet. I remember watching that tip on TV as they said if you rub it too much into those areas your tan will look fake. I have been putting it on for the past 2 days to ensure my legs look goods to go for my xmas party :) So far so good. My legs are the same colour as my arms. This stuff is a great moisturiser too. My legs are so soft next day! I dont find the scent bad... its nice light and sort of masks that self tan smell. The price is cheap as chips and the amount of product you get is great! Look at for the deals! Im not sure how this product compares to high end brands or other brands, but for me it works like a charm, so I dont think i will need to look at other brands!

My friend and I both tried this out, and we have mixed opinions on it. It didn't seem to work for me, so I gave it to her to try out. She liked it as it gave a good gradual tan that seemed somewhat natural however some parts seemed a bit darker than others. You need to apply it evenly on the skin making sure that you have exfoliated properly beforehand otherwise you will get uneven patches, but no streaking surprisingly. Tan builds up approx 3-4 days depending on how much and how frequently you use it.

Generally, it does what it says on the tub - with a few exceptions. It moisturises pretty well and gives a light natural looking tan after consistent use. The product itself claims the tan would build up in 3-4 days however it's taken mine just a little more longer - around 4-6 days. I've had no experiences with streaking, which is good. However, the only down side is the smell. It's very strong and absolutely horrid! Therefore I recommend applying at night or at least trying to cover with some kind of perfume!

This pretty yellow bottle of sunshine is not bad, it didn't make me go orange, but it made me unevenly orange.....so I stopped using it. Mum got this very cheap in New Zealand and thought it was a regular lotion and when I saw it, I asked her to give it to me and brought it back to HK. Unfortunately with my very fair skin, I realized patchy (though not obvious) slightly browner version of myself is not attractive. This product don't smell bad though, so you can try it. I have given up on tanning....I think I would rather remain white.

Yay: Effective, even after day one
Nay: Takes a long time to dry
If you want a fairly quick tanning fix, using generously for two or three days before your party or whatever will prove very effective, which is great. After practise it's pretty easy to use without streaking, although heat does have a tendency to make it go a bit blotchy. However, this is one of the best gradual tanners on the market; good value, easy to use, and quick results. It also smells pretty good and makes a decent moisturiser as well as a tanner. Takes longer to dry than I'd like, however.

okay first of all - If you want to buy this then you have to give up all scrubs and exfoliators you are currently using.

second - It rubbed off alittle between my boobs at first where that bit of my bra rubs the skin alittle. but it doesnt happen anymore, weird??

Lastly- You have to wait agessss after applying before putting on clothes or anything (the bottle lies!!). it says wait ten minutes before putting on clothes but i swear on my life you have to wait like half an hour! which really cuts into my after-shower routine.

Now! the good points.

1) new formula. Gives a great even tan and looks natural and a great shade of brown - not yellow or orange anymore! Hehehe, started using it after i came back from Bali, and last week saw my crush and he couldnt help but admire my amazing "bali tan" sayiing how great i look.

2.) Smell isnt so bad anymore! some of you girls might remember the original product before the new and improved one? Well, now it still isnt 100% great but its not so strong and smells more cocoa-ish or vanillery.

3.) Cheap as. ten bucks (australian) for a 400ml bottle that lasts me about 2 months.

4.) Moisturisation - my legs look smooth plus not to mention my sexy new tan.

Overall---
This is the second taning product I've tried - the first being in year 8 loool disaster! and it works well but im sure there are better ones out on the market that are less of a hassle to apply everyday. I bought the medium to dark one but the tan still isnt that dark, so i want one that goes alittle darker. I hear the Dove ones are good so i think I'll try one of those when this bottle runs out!

A couple years back this was the first self-tanning body lotion on the market and I was crazy to buy it. It would turn me a God-awful jaundiced shade of yellow and peel off in pretty round patches the next day making me look like I had some skin pigmentation disease. It also made me and my close surroundings reek of self-tan, so after a while I just gave up on it.

A few days ago, however, curiosity got me again and I bought it despite being perfectly satisfied with Garnier Summerbody and Dove Summer Glow.

There have been a few pleasant changes - a nice cocoa-y new fragrance and the distinct lack of the self-tan smell. Unfortunately, there's a distinct lack of tanning as well. I bought the medium to dark skin version and it did not tan me AT ALL. And I mean at all - I see my previous Garnier tan peeling off leaving my original pasty yellow skintone on show. Despite having slathered myself in Holiday Skin for the past 4 nights.

I'm not entirely sure why this doesn't tan me but it's disappointing. I'll use it up because it's excellent at moisturizing though, I don't have flaky itchy skin anymore on my legs. The smell is quite nice too and it wasn't expensive at £7 for a 400ml bottle of generic body lotion.

Apart from that, self-tan fail. Get Dove or Garnier.

After using this stuff for a while, I really loved it! It's perfect for my super fare skin. It makes my skin not too pale and moisturized.
The only minus is a smell... but most of self tanners have such smell...

has anyone at all tried the 'new' one of this??? it's got a new formula
with the old version, i remember gagging with the smell after a few hours of use and kept thinking everyone around me could smell it. and it used to stink out my sheets cos i'd started to use it overnight to avoid having the smell. HOWEVER this NEW one says it is "our best ever Holiday Skin Body Lotion gives 24 hour moisturisation and our most natural-looking tan ever - now blended with naturally moisture-rich avocado and starflower extracts".

I'm the whitest of white people around and am constantly trying out new tanning lotions to stop people wanting to wear sunnies around me, and this was the first one i ever tried a few years ago, and was turned off it. but after reading that this was new and improved (and my friend swears by it) i decided to give it ago, and so far i'm really really pleased with it. I woke up this morning expected to be slightly yellowish and stinking in that awful musty smell, but there wasnt one!!! and i'm looking darker but quite natural. i'll def stick with this one for a while and see how it all pans out. was on special at AUS$5.50, not bad at all considering it's a 400ml bottle and other ones are 200ml for triple the price. if you haven't tried this new formulation - give it a go. it's definitely not the same one as the original.

This is an okay gradual tanner if you're looking for a bit of colour without much application effort. It goes on well without streaks and gives you a few shades up from your natural skin colour after 4-6 days. It's never made me orange-but it has gone a bit yellow on me when I used it every day for a couple of weeks.

However it smells so bad I cannot use it. I tried and I persisted with it but the smell is just that bad. I know it's a fake tanner and you have to expect some bad smell-but this is just too bad.

PROS: Has a moisturiser in it, gives even tan if applied properly
CONS: Is slightly orange, has to be rubbed in throughly
I got the light-normal one of this. It comes out a tade orange and if you don't rub it in fully it will come out streaky and you have to be really careful with your hands, ankles and knees and belly button because if you apply to much on these they will go fully orange! But overall it does create an even tan if you rub it in throughly, even if it may be slightly orange. Wouldn't buy it again just because it's not as natural looking as I would like it to be.
UPDATE: I found the new fragrenced one to be a great improvement! It still looks a tade orange but not un-natural orange if that makes sense? Also it does build up a really nice even, moisturised tan after a couple days use! I have been using the light-medium one. I probably still wouldn't buy it again as I've read loads of good reviews on the new dove one.

I have recently bought the new fragranced version of this product, and as reccomended by a friend I bought the dark skin version despite being fair/ medium skinned. I apply this after showering and exfoliating every morning, and I am happy with the natural looking colour that doesn't streak. Extra brownie points for the smell - it is absolutely divine (I can't stop smelling myself when I use it - a few days ago I huggesd my crush and he said I smelled good enough to eat! SCORE!) and it really does last 12 hours. If you use it at night, the scent still lingers on your skin throughout the morning. The only problem I have is an experience I had after bathing - I think due to the warm water having soaked my skin, when I had a bad itch on my leg and looked down I had actually SCRATCHED the colour off! It took a few days of reapplying to get the white scratchmarks to blend back in. So I had to take one lippie off for that - not good. However, I love this body lotion so much otherwise, and it gives me such a lovely glow, that I am prepared to look past this and avoid itching after having a bath!

I don't even know why I bought this, as I don't even like being tan. So anyway, I bought this last year and layered it on for a couple of days and I became orange. Not a good look. It has that stereotypical fake tan smell but I actually liked it. The upside is that it's adequately moisturizing. I won't buy it again simply because it turns out orange and very very fake tan looking.

EDIT
After using this every other day for a fortnight it made my eczema flare up really violently, despite using emollients on the other days. I think it has something in it which is triggering allergies.

I bought the 'fair skin' version of this product.

Pros:
1) It doesn't smell as strong as some of these lotions with tanner
2) It gives a natural, hint of tan taking away that winter pastiness and evening out tan lines
3) It's cheap
4) The packaging is sturdy and stable - less spills

Cons:
1) While the smell isn't too bad, it really lingers on your skin
2) I did get a few patches - you need to be more careful than the instructions imply
3) It doesn't moisturise that much

I will use the bottle but not every day, as I have dry eczema prone skin, and I won't repurchase. I think the Garnier summerbody is a better moistuuriser and tanner.
