This is a beautiful sheer white. One layer comes out as a pretty light pink - very professional looking, but can be streaky. Two layers comes out as a pale white and is less streaky. It takes three layers for it to become obviously white, but is not yet opaque.

I can wear this alone, but also use it to get the PERFECT French manicure! :) What I use: Revlon White on White, Sheer Sugar (white) and Sheer Blossom (pink) - but any sheer white and pink will work I guess.
1- Apply one coat of Sheer Sugar and let it dry thoroughly. This doesn't turn my nails white, but rather a nice light pink. Sometimes it is streaky but it's okay because I go over it later.
2- Stick on French tip stencils, but personally I use tape to get the square tips. If the first coat isn't dry sometimes it will peel off along with the tape.
3- Apply 2 coats of White on White. Sometimes it is streaky but that's okay.
4- When this is fully dry, apply one coat of Sheer Blossom on the bottom pink half of your nails, and then one coat of Sheer Sugar over the top white half at the same time. This a) gets rid of the 'ridge' between the white/pink because the 2 layers of White on White kind of sticks out, b) fills in any streakiness from the previous layers, and c) if you apply the sheer pink over the whole thing, the white tip turns a weird pink colour. By applying the sheer white last, it keeps the tip fresh and white.
Using this method I had a perfect French manicure for 11 days, and by then I only removed it because my nails were getting too long and needed trimming.

I've tried many sheer whites searching for the perfect one and this is IT! Once you master the application, this is a beautiful, streak-free sheer white which mimics a french manicure. I use 2 coats and the pinks of my nails still show through. I also wear this on my toes with ChG Fairy Dust on top. Simply Heavenly!

I wrote a good review of this product when I first bought it. But it always went on streaky and heavy. NOT the look I wanted.

For a great sheer white polish, try Essie 337 "Waltz." No streaks, exactly the sheer I wanted. At $5 or so, it's not gonna break the bank.

I'd been looking for this color for awhile after I read that it was a dupe for Chanel's White Satin. The color is a gorgeous milky white with no shimmer, striking the right balance between being too sheer (i can just barely see my natural nail) or too opaque (like white out). It manages to look both classic and modern at the same time. My only complaint is that it goes on a bit streaky. I need to use three coats to even it out

I picked this up after reading it was a possible dupe to Chanel White Satin, and seeing pics on the nail board. Let me say, I am glad I did. 1 coat of this polish and it covers the yellow stains on my nails (from dark polish) When I do 3 coats it is opaque enough to see the color but still a sheer white. It looks very classy and professional. It was not streaky on me either. All around a fantastic buy.

Like other reviewers have said, this is the perfect sheer white polish. I'm always wearing polish so my nails are slightly stained yellow but Sheer Sugar covers it up really nicely. With 2 coats, my nail beds are a healthy glowing pink and the white tips look really white. I love the way that this looks almost like a subtle french manicure. Application was a little tricky and I had some difficulty making it even on my nails so I put few coats of white glitter over it and it was like magic! This is the perfect base to make any sheer more opaque and also as a base for glitters. This is definitely a necessary product in any nail polish collection!

Beautifully sheer and gorgeous on nails! Looks SO classy-not overdone or conspicuous! I found this yesterday at Walgreens and may have to make another trip to get bottle #2! It's not a harsh or heavy white-it's perfect!

I'm loving this polish! I too have tried Essie and OPI colors, which are great if applied at a salon, however, streaky if you diy and pricey. Very nice color, will buy again.

Not a big fan of Revlon polishes, or sheers, but thought I'd give it a try. Very pretty, clean, classy. Great for a pedicure as well as a manicure, makes me look tan. Applies well, not streaky. Good white too - not like White Out/Liquid Paper or too sheer that it's almost clear. Fun to put glitter polishes over it too.

Yikes! What a perfect sheer white! I have Essie Waltz. It's a streaker. I have Essie Marshmallow... it's good, but I use it for doing french tips, not the whole nail. I used Sheer Sugar on the whole nail and wow. I love it. It goes on even. No streaks or coverage issues for me at all. Wears excellent. Looks fantastic with a tan too.

I have been looking for a sheer white for years. I have tried every shade of Essie, and nothing was ever quite right (but I have a nice collection of Essie neutral sheers). I could not find a sheer pure white - no pink, no beige, no shimmer, no yellow...just white. Finally, Revlon quietly puts out Sheer Sugar. I luckily read about it in a magazine and set out to find it. Not many places carried it, and when they did carry this color, it was always out of stock. I managed to locate 2 bottles at Target, and am so happy I kept the seach up.

Sheer Sugar goes on streak free, makes your nails look clean, buffed and manicured, whether they are or not. I like to use just 1 coat, but 2 coats is just as pretty. I bet in the summer, this will make a really nice pedicure with tanned feet.
