My lips easily dried out,and this product is one of the easy solution to it. It takes away most of the dry flaky parts on the lips, but do not imagine that your lips are going to be silky smooth after that. Several times of using will probably do. Combine it with a good lip balm and dry lips won't be much of a problem. Good price too.

I've wanted to try this product for quite a while but reading the bad reviews had put me off. I went to The Body Shop in an outlet near by and they were offering 40% off if you bought 4 items. I had initially gone in to try their BB cream, which is £12 here in the UK, and I picked up a couple of their Hemp Moisture High Balms as they were on sale at £1, which basically meant if I bought the Lip Scuff too it'd practically be almost free because of the 40% off, so I picked it up.

Okay, so my first impressions where that the packaging feels and looks very cheap, but I was hoping the product quality would compensate for that. I have VERY dry lips all year round and usually resort to the toothbrush method to remove the dead skin, but this often leaves my lips sore and bleeding, and that leads to them being even more dry so I wanted to try something else.

This product smells wonderful, it almost smells good enough to eat. It has a gorgeous, soothing minty fragrance, and as for if the product actually works... It has definitely improved my dry lips, more than what I'd expect from an application that feels quite gentle. I was quite surprised at how much of a difference a few applications has made. It didn't remove ALL of the dead skin on my lips, but I think a few more application will do the trick. It certainly is a more gentle way of gradually removing the dryness.

If it came to paying the full price for this product in the future, I would deffinately repurchase this item.

I also don't understand the negativity about this product, I love it! It takes away all the flaky/dead bits of my lips without damaging my lips (as scrubbing with a tooth brush sometimes does with me). I also love the packaging, I see a lot of lip scrubs in little cans (like lip balms) a lot and they don't seem usefull to me at all.
I've also got the Lip Care of The Body Shop and I put it on after I used the Lip Scuff and my lips have never feeled softer! I recommend using this every other day.
I will definitely repurchase!

I generally love The Body Shop products but was not impressed with this. I used it every night before applying a lip treatment but the flaky lips remain! Now that it's finished, I'll go back to using a soft toothbrush and good old Vaseline which gave far better results.

Dead skin on my lips really bother me even though I am a liberal lip balm user and always keeps my lips smooth. I use this every other night before I shower or when I notice there is dead skin on my lips. I rub this on my lips and then rub my lips together and wipe it with a tissue. It does not really exfoliate because I still see dead skin on my lips when I wipe with the tissue. I'd rather use Lush's lip scrub which tastes delicious and actually works better than this Lip Scuff. Tried it once, and I already bought another lip scrub. Will not be repurchasing...

I would definitely buy this again I stumbled upon it on accident when I went in for a sale and how I was surprised. This stuff does the job that Mary Kay lip satin wishes it could do and is so much easier to use. I just throw it on every morning before work and then apply some balm as soon as I get on the road. Too bad it's a little pricey.

This product does not do much for me... I know it's supposed to exfoliate, and I rubb it in but it only makes my chapped lips look more chapped. It does not help in curing my troubled lips.

I think sugar with oil or honey will do the same for your lips, and much cheaper.

I just bought the LipScuff recently...Have been using it for about two weeks...It seems to work great so far...I think the trick, sometimes, is to not over-exfoliate...As many have already posted, this is NOT a lip treatment or a gloss or a balm - Its an exfoliator and should be used as one. I recommend using some kind of softening treatment before or after - And dont dampen the lips with water as this product is not water soluble (so it may turn to gunk if you put water over or under it)

I can't understand the poor revs on this. I am dying to get my hands on some again!!! There used to be even more bits in which I preferred, but there is not so much any more. It gets rid of my gross flaky bits and leaves a lovely soothing style balm on which absorbs beautifully and gives me the loveliest lips. MWAH!!!! I want it right now please!! Right now.

This product works wonders! I am suprised too on the negative results. I apply a light coat on my lips and then move it with my finger or a tissue to help exfoliate the rough skin away.. I wipe it off with a tissue and it leaves my lips feeling nice and smooth. I usually apply a lip treatment afterwards like Softlips or Papaw ointment - although you don't have to do that. Will definately repurchase, haven't found anything else that works as well.

Adore this product. Delivers better than any other product I've used with same treatment purpose and costs less. Every tube I've ever bought has ended up - right away - with the product broken off and stuck to the top, like what happens to your first tube of ipstick. Don't know how that keeps occurring but that's the only flaw as far as I'm concerned.

I was surprised about all the negative reviews, cause this works wonders on my chapped lips.

I agree, it's harsh, but I'm tired of 'soft' and 'gentle' products that never do the job. I suggest not scrubbing away on dry lips until you get some result - that would probably lead to bleeding. My method is starting with the lip scuff for a few seconds until it leaves some residue on the lips and finish the scrubbing with fingers as you would with a liquid scrub. Also, using a lip balm before or after is a good idea, though not a necessity.

I didn't have any problems removing it, I swipe it off with fingers. The waxy part didn't feel bad on my dry lips, it's somewhat moisturizing (still, a lip balm afterwords is a good idea), it's consistency is very thick, but it sinks in quite well.

The smell is minty and not too strong. The way I use it, it will probably last for a while. If you use it for continuous scrubbing, probably not so much, plus it leaves too much residue on the lips that way.

Hope this helps.

Applying Lipscuff on my lips is like applying one of those oil-based crayons on my lips. The gunk is thick and the exfoliators doesn't scrub off the dry flakes off my lips. In fact, it only made the flakes became more prominent becos' the flakes just stood out, but not off. The price isn't cheap either and thank goodness this came free for me as a gift from a friend.

But the most pet peeve of all is having to wash off the gunk and residue off my lips. Like oil-based crayons, it takes alot of effort to wipe or wash off the Lipscuff.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews of this product because it really works for me & I've already repurchased, and I'm not even a fan of The Body Shop products in general. This lip exfoliator is packaged lipstick-style in a matte black tube - just twist up and apply the product to damp lips in small circular motions. I don't find the granules too harsh at all. I tissue off the residue and rinse with water. Leaves lips smooth and soft. Great stuff.

Rubbish - the exfoliating particles are far too big and only suceed in increasing the size of the flakes on my lips! I also found it quite difficult to remove the green sticky mess from my lips after treatment (wipe with tissue... wipe...wipe, oh, still some more...wipe... etc) I much prefer Blistex Lip Revitalizer to this.

i do not know why this product got rants on the reviews..i found it great for me

Price: Original price of RM30 per tube. i got this on sale. so i got it at RM24, so it is almost the same price as a d/s lippie.i considered this is a cheap price for a branded lip treatment.

Packaging quality: It is packed in TBS elegant dark/black colored tube..so it does not look cheapo like the d/s plastic tube!

Overall Rating: I fall in love with this lip treatment.I do not apply lip balm before exfoliating. The green mint stick itself can act as the base for smoothing the nut shell for while exfoliating. After using this lip scuff, i apply born lippy lip balm in strawberry before go to bed, voila, i got baby soft lip on the next day..wat else i can ask....the next day, i apply TBS lip enhancer (skin focus) and then born lippy again and followed with my HG lippie..

A wonderful lip exfoliator: easy to use, does its job well, not pricey, and the product lasts quite long. You can control how hard the exfoliation is by simply varying the pressure while you rub your lips. I usually take it off with a cleansing oil, the lips remain so soft and nice!
I notice some people's reviews and must say this is NOT A LIPBALM: you're not supposed to stay with it on your lips, but rub it to exfoliate and remove it. And another thing: it is not water soluble, so it's better to take it off with cleansing oil, baby oil, or simply your makeup remover. It works so nice with lipbalm applied after scrubbing is done.

I also agree that this is way too harsh!! Even when I apply lip balm first, the walnut shells (or whatever it is) actually hurt my lips! And no, I don't apply this roughly! It does exfoliate well, bu there are other great exfoliants that don't scratch up your lips with jagged nut shells! Back to The Body Shop this goes!
