I hate to hate on this product, as I think it's probably a really great product for some people, but I kind of have to. In terms of its effectiveness, it's a good night cream for normal-dry skin. However I'm one of those people that likes to feel a bit of their night cream left on their face in the morning, and this isn't quite that rich. But really, my big gripe with this product is the scent--a.) when I get it too close to my eyes, they burn and b.) I think the scent is a migraine trigger for me. I do like the pump packaging and wish more night creams would switch to that instead of a jar. This is probably a great product for someone with slightly less dry skin who's less sensitive to the scent--it just wasn't the right product for me.

I'm on my second or third bottle of this now, and it's working very well for me. I have dehydrated combination skin that is prone to clogged pores, and it's easily irritated by products which then make it red, flaky, or cause breakouts. I have difficulty finding creams that I find to be emollient enough that don't go on to make my skin break out.
I can slather this cream on at night, and my skin always looks nicer, calmer, and more even in the morning. In the driest parts of winter I sometimes add a bit of the Omega-3 Serum at night for extra moisture and treatment. I use 1-2 pumps to cover my face (including eyes) generously, also smoothing it down my neck. I love most of REN's scents, and this cream is no exception. It's earthy-herbal with a very slight hint of incense, but I find it fades relatively quickly.
Since I'm having trouble finding the perfect day cream (especially for the winter) I sometimes use this during the day as well, but after doing this on a daily basis for too long it starts to be too "active" for my skin and is no longer calming.

This review is for the Ren Frankincense revitalising night cream. I love this product, it refreshes my skin, leaving it smooth and supple and disguises any lack of sleep from the night before. It is hard to find a decent moisturiser for genuinely combination/sensitive and rosacea prone skin. This is absolutely my HG. Having said that, because I loved it and it's so hard to find moisturisers, I started using it in the morning as well which overloaded my skin and irritated it. I have reverted to just using it at night and it's great again. I love the packaging and ideas behind it across the Ren range.

I've been using this for about 3 months, and have maybe 1/4 of a bottle left. The pump dispenser was a big selling point for me. I don't really notice the scent anymore. My skin is happy with it, but I haven't noticed any remarkable changes.

I bought the sample pack for normal skin from Sephora. I used it every night for a few weeks and while it did nothing bad to my skin, I don't think it did anything great either. Nothing special in my experience.

I have been using this since August of 2011 to now. This is only night cream that my problematic skin loves! I always use this after omega serum. Really calms my skin and incredibly beautiful skin!

This cream is absolutely perfect for nighttime use. It is hydrating and rich, makes skin glow. Helps even out skin tone and gets rid of any dryness. I like the peppery smell too!
Age: 30-35 Skin: Combination, Fair Hair: Black Eyes: Hazel
Strong offputting smell of frankincense, otherwise a good night cream that absorbs well and moisturizes perfectly adequately. It's no miracle but not bad, pleasant texture. Not rich enough to make a difference to fine lines/dry wintry skin. Like the pump applicator, helps it last a long time.

I'm on my second bottle. my skin is A LOT calmer since I start using REN products.
I use it every night after putting on my omega 3 serum also by REN. less break out, balanced, calm, supple and smooth. Off course I still got pimple once in while, but i'm pretty sure its only hormonal (which nothing can prevent that), but every morning I wake up and notice my skin looks so much healthier since i start using this product together with the serum. a must buy and a life saver for me.

Thankfully, I got this as a deluxe sample from Sephora, so I didn't loose any money on it. I had been wanting to try it, but the price was a bit steep, so I was happy to get the sample. Unfortunately, it not only didn't work for me, but caused more problems. At first, it went on smootly, smelled nice, but after about 5 minutes, I glanced in the mirror and my face looked red and flushed. Well, I tried it a few more times just to make sure, and proceeded to break out in all kinds of tiny blackheads and larger zits on my chin. No other changes to my routine, I probably should have stopped using it when it turned me pink...IMO no facial product (except maybe toner, and then only mildly) should ever turn you red or sting and burn, I really like the idea of "natural" products, but my face is sensitive enough that most are too strong.

I used this cream every night for about one month together with the Radiant Day Cream from the same brand. I thought it was a good skin regime for me, until I looked one day closely in my office's toilette mirror and I realised that my face was full of whiteheads. I blame either/both these products as this was the main change in my skin care routine during this time. I stopped using them on my face and used the remaining as a body moisturiser. Luckily, I only got the trial pack. I definitely would not repurchase.

The price of this moisturizer is about average compared to other moisturizers out there 55$ for 1.7oz. I like the way it leaves your skin after you apply it, soft not tacky like many night creams, it sinks in right away and doesn't go on heavy, its light in texture somewhat like a gel, its a night cream so I thought it would be much thicker, another reviewer said it was thick I don't feel it thick . The smell is very unusual but I find many products that are natural have this smell in them, its probably an ingredient that is used in many natural products. Very happy with this purchase.
Age: 36-43 Skin: Oily, Fair, Cool Hair: Blond Eyes: Green
I got this product as a sample...at first I wasn't sure if I liked the smell...kind of musky...like incense...and it is thick so that worried me having oily skin....but....I must say that I am in love with this. I tried to make my sample last....so some days I would use a different night cream or none at all etc....bottom line is that on the nights that I used this cream, I could tell the next morning. My skin looked very well rested and vibrant. My search for the perfect night cream is over.
EDIT: I still love this cream.. lately, I've been using it with OLE's Truth Serum underneath. What I don't like about the vit.c serum is that the bottle lasts only a little over a month....where as this product by REN is just as expensive but it lasts 3 months (I use 3 pumps per night).

I got this from a deluxe Sephora sample and have been using it for the past 3 weeks. I have acne-prone combination skin and am also prone to having blackheads on my nose. I noticed right away that this cream makes my skin feel really oily so I can only use it at night right before I go to sleep--any other time it drives me crazy because it's so greasy and lint sticks to my face and it's gross!
Unfortunately, I have not seen any beneficial effects from using the cream. I never had any redness in my face really because I'm more olive toned so I can't say anything about that, but it has not made my face smoother or "conditioned" feeling the next day. Furthermore, it has not helped lighten dark spots on my face from acne. I think it has also made me break out slightly more than when I'm using a moisturizer that is less oily. Also, I've noticed that I get blackheads much more frequently after using this cream. I'd say definitely stay away if you have even the slightest hint of oily skin! This is really only for people with extremely dry skin.

I love this stuff. I need a good cream for the winter months that won't break me out and this is my HG. It's rich and creamy and smells so good. It moisturizes without making my face greasy and when I wake up my skin is so soft and it glows. I use it over the Omega 3 Lipid renewal and I have not had one dreaded winter flakey yet. And no breakouts! Love it! I did take off one lippie due to the price but you do get a lot of product and you don't need a whole lot to cover your face. A wonderful product definitely worth trying.

I wanted to love this cream, since I've been trying to use organic/natural skincare products for the last couple of years. However, it appears to be way too greasy for my skin. It broke me out after a couple of days. I live in Sweden and this winter has been really cold (up to or should I say down to -20C) and I hoped this night cream would work for me, but unfortunately it didn't. I'll try using it perhaps every third day and see if this is going to fit my skin any better.

I love this cream as it sinks right into my skin and leaves it feeling really fresh. It's a little too light for my skin so i apply it twice. I wash my face with water in the morning and can usually feel the moisturiser glide off and know it just sits on my face. This does nothing of the sort and makes my skin soft and fresh :) The scent isn't all that nice, though, but that's only a minor detail. I don't know if the cream will make a huge difference for your skin but if you're looking for a range that makes your skin feel great and fresh, you should try REN.

What I can say about is that I don't like it.
The creme itself is okay, but it did nothing for my skin except reducing redness a bit. It contains myristyl myristate which can cause breakouts and makes my skin feel oily.
Simple apricot oil with 1-2 drops of frankincense essential oil works much better for me.
There are far better creams. Won't repurchase again.

Ive had my eye on this night cream for ages and finally saw a good deal on it on ebay. It was much lighter than i was expecting, not greasy at all and just sinks right in but also feels very moisturising. The scent is not at all bad but i do have sensitive eyes and if i get it too close it will make my eyes water a bit. The results were nothing short of very impressive with this cream, i don't usually expect visible results before 2 weeks but with this i saw a amazing difference in one night. I had a few red marks from spots which after one night had nearly faded completly and my skin just looked so clear and bright. So 5 lippies for this!
