This gloss is one of very few that I continue to purchase. It is "just right" on my NC44 skintone and adds a natural looking touch of lovely. It's the one color that never goes wrong on me.

First bought this when I was 14 and now, I'm in my early 20's still buying it. HG for my NC15 skin. Even my mother, who never really likes my choice in colors, considering she's an NC42, loved this as well. Perfect color and I've never found anything to replace it.

My new go-to l/g. Went to the M.A.C. counter to find a "natural looking gloss" for a friend's wedding, and after trying a couple (names escape me) that made me look like a jaundiced corpse, I said I was going for "maybe not THAT natural". The MA put this on, and it was love. Goes wonderfully with day and evening looks, and works over any and all other lip colors in my Caboodle (uh huh!)
Lasting power has not been an issue for me with this product; but if I haven't masked and moisturized my lips in awhile, it does get 'gritty' quickly.

Purchased this as a dupe for my beloved Little Vi that was d/c. Star Nova has too much shimmer/glitter and just looked like cheap drug store lipgloss on me. I usually like the lustreglass formula but found this more thick than the others. Little Vi was HG for me and this does not come close as all. Would not repurchase.

This lustreglass is an okay product. I bought this awhile ago, and in an effort to use up my ever expanding makeup collection, decided to use it constantly until it is finished (Project 10 hit pan). I have to force myself to use this because, as many others have said, this is not the most pigmented lipgloss. It looks fabulous in the tube, but is quite sheer in application. Similarly to many MAC lipglosses, it is quite sticky and glitter-y. I am trying to experiment with different lip liners and lipsticks to bring out the most flattering results for my skintone (NC 45), but I haven't found the "it" combination yet. I cannot wait to use it up and move on. Needless to say, I will not be repurchasing this.
By the way, this and Little VI are dupes of each other, though Little VI has a better color payoff. Since Little VI is discontinued, this may be a "harder to work with" alternative.

Time to give some love to this lovely lustreglass! Star Nova is a beautiful sheer mauve with a light silvery sheen w/ VERY small fuchsia glitter.
It goes on extremely sheer, but with great staying power. Not sticky, smells (As expected) of vanilla.
This is fabulous if you want a my-lips-but-better look, with lovely depth and slight shimmer.
Never in a million years would have picked this for myself (I gravitate towards roses, guavas or true berry colors), but luckily had a talented MA who suggested this.
I wear it over MAC Plum l/l (my fave combo), or by itself. Have also used it as a highlighter on a deep jewel-toned lippie (middle of lower lip, blot).
Worth the price for how long it lasts!

Absolutely love this. It is a glittering medium mauve pink that looks good on any skitone because it adds that extra depth and shine to the natural pigmentation of lips. I personally prefer Lustreglasses over their drying, stickier, uneven sister the Lipglass. Lustreglasses are sheerer, lighter/more comfortable in texture and have a beautiful glistening effect that is easier to pull off than Lipglass. I like this best over MAC Loverlorn lipstick as it makes the bright pink more wearable by adding a mauve tone. I got this at a CCO but would pay full price for it when I run out.

Such a pretty mauve/pink shade. This has suited pretty much every skin tone I have seen it on. Star Nova has tiny little glitter and shimmer in the tube, but deposits very little once applied (to me, this is a good thing as I can't stand glitter on lips). It is just pigmented enough to wear on its own, or layer on top of a lipstick. Will be repurchasing shortly.

Loooovvvveee it. I'm on my 2nd tube. I layer this on my new acquisition by Mac called "Sweetie." It's a lovely combination with this sweet pinky color on pinky lipstick. It's a keeper!

My wedding MUA layered Star Nova over a deep red lipstick on my wedding day and gave me the tube (along with other products for touch-ups). Now I'm on tube #3 -- needless to say, I really like the stuff.
I have a deep tan/olive complexion (NC42) and average-to-small lips, and this lip gloss does an excellent job of highlighting both. I typically line my lips with a deep wine/purplish lipliner, smudge it out, and then layer the gloss on top. I also wear it over lipstick (deep reds and purples). The brush provides just the right amount, IMO, and prevents goopiness. The shimmer is very pretty -- not overly flashy or too subtle -- and the pigment likewise gives a very pretty, natural-but-revved-up dark pink color. I could see this working on a variety of skin tones, from light to dark. The staying power is good for a gloss, too.
Another plus: it's pretty moisturizing (and my lips dry easily). NYC winters can get crazy dry, esp. living in a high-rise, so I sometimes carefully add a bit of Aquaphor over the gloss and it doesn't really affect the color or finish (unlike some other glosses with which I've done the same).

i'm glad i got this in a swap. i ended up liking it..
in the tube, it looks like a dull mauvey-purple lipgloss with shimmers.
on the lips, its a shiny light mauve with hints of pink. i love to pair this with neutral or cool toned m/u. it makes my lips look more plumped.
one thing about lustreglass is that you can't beat the shine it gives.
its more comfy to wear than lipglass because of its lightweight texture..
the brush applicator makes application looks better as you can thin out the amount of gloss you wanna put on the lips. =)

I must say I love this product! I love that it's not as sticky as the lipglasses. The color is perfect for my cool fair complexion. I think it's a little sheer, but beautiful. The pink is perfect!

Star Nova is a very pretty plum-burgundy like color that is very pigmented and looks nice on my very pigmented lips. If you like strawberry blonde l/g you will love star nova as well.

I really liked this when the MUA tried it on me. I was looking for a dupe to Date Night dazzleglass...and this is pretty much dead on. If I'm looking for a deeper color...I'll line my lips with Currant first. For regular days...I do a very thin layer of Currant, blot, and then apply Star Nova. Wore it yesterday and loved every minute of it. It is a bit sheer...but I don't mind working with it at all. Would definitely repurchase (almost done with my 1st tube; bought July 08)
*Update* I'm NC45 in MAC terms

This lipgloss is on the sheer side. I usually DETEST sheer lipglosses but I like this one. It's very shiny and a little shimmery, so I can wear it on it's own and still notice a very nice color on my lips. Plus, brush applicator is always very nice!

I am on my second tube of this lustreglass. It is a pretty plum-mauvey color. On me it is very sheer because I have pigmented lips. It is a great everyday color to wear with minimal to no makeup on since it just adds a bit of shimmer. If you are looking for a minimal lipgloss that just adds shimmer this would be for you.

This looks nearly identical on me to Iittle vi except possibly more flattering. Little Vi can look too purple on my unpigmented lips if I put too much on but that doesn't happen with star nova. It's a sheer berry on my NC30ish olive skin. I love the lustreglass formula and the shimmer in this product does not look too ott or young.

HG lipgloss!!! I can't believe that I waited this long to buy Star Nova. Some say its similar to little VI, I dont agree. Star Nova is in a class all by itself and I've tried tons of MAC glosses. I love shiny, glimmery lips and this definitely does the trick. It has tiny glitter particles but will not make you lips look glitter, rather..they will look shimmery and beautiful. The color is a perfect mauve which suits my skintone (NC-20). I truly feel like a hollywood goddess when I wear this. I could actually skip most of my other makeup.
