This product gives me a surprisingly natural looking tan. The trick is to rub it in until its almost entirely absorbed. And streaks left behind were my fault entirely. It does smell like fake tan, but that's because it is fake tan. Great product!

I have used a few tubes of this lotion in hopes of getting a gradual tan, whether for an upcoming event or just a boost of colour. To be honest, I don't know why I keep purchasing it. You do see a difference after a few days, but I find that it washes off quickly. If you dont exfoliate properly, it is also easy to see some orange patches on knees and elbows. I usually put a regular moisturizer on those areas so the colour does not settle into the crevices. I wish it gave a faster tan and was more bronze as opposed to an orange tone. Although I did not look like a carrot, it was just not what I was looking or hoping for. I am in between a fair and medium skin tone ans have tried fair for a long time, but that is because my legs barely see the light and are so white! Maybe I will try the medium shade to see if there is a difference. I just hope I do not turn into the next teletubby.
Overall, it is just an okay product and does not provide that great of a difference over time, even when used daily (from what I noticed) as it washes off fairy easily through daily showering and bathing. Just seems reductive.

I bought this to build up a light natural looking tan colour before my wedding. It did the trick. I applied it in circular motions after my shower each morning, and it didn't smear (bearing in mind I am a total novice). It also left a nice subtle glittery sparkle. It is only a light colour though, as the name suggests. The only real draw-back for me was the smell. It had the usual fake tan biscuit smell, which is a bit off-putting. I couldn't wear it all the time, for that reason. But fine for special occasions. And it does take a few days to build up, so plan in advance (but at least then you can't go too far wrong with the colour!). Foolproof.

I got this when it first came out and absolutely loathed it. I am very fair and it left me looking decidedly jaundiced haha. But they seem to have reformatted it lately - it's in a hard package now as opposed to the soft plasticey package it was in before. I find it a little more difficult to get all of the product out of this later one, but the reformatted formula works much better! It's much less streaky - doesn't get caught in between my fingers and works right away. It's quite natural looking as well - I don't look weird and splotchy like I did before. It's also SO great as a moisturizer. It leaves me feeling so incredibly soft, which I love. But the smell is still offputting. I haven't encountered a self-tanning product that doesn't have that weird smell, so it's not exclusive to this product. Aside from that, it's quite good and delivers as promised. It's not my favourite self-tanner, but for the price, it is great. I'd repurchase.

I'm writing this review so I don't stop using this for a while and start again. ALL the inexpensive self tanners I've tried at the drugstore STINK badly. For some reason at that price range they can't mask the smell of the DHA. I'f had samples of St. Tropez gradual tanner and its smell is tolerable. I just can't justify paying that much for self tanner. I love being tan but that I balk at the price of that every time I enter Sephora.
I have pretty light skin (MUFE HD 117) so it only takes me 1-2 light applications to get color with this, which is nice. The downside is that the smell is SO overpowering. It makes my fragrance smell off if I wear one during the day. I wouldn't wear it to bed because I wouldn't subject my SO to that. This was the gradual tanner that started the craze, and for that I give them props. I'd rather go au natural that smell like this crap.

I think it worked well on a natural tan, but it does take awhile to build it up and it doesn't last long when you shower. I would put it on at night after I showered and then I'd be slightly tanner the next day. It looks natural and smells just a little bit bad, but not too strong.

One of the only self tanners that does not turn a pale girl like me into a carrot! I admire the fact that it works gradually and there's not a scarily fast change. It actually smells alright considering it is in fact a self tanner and those as we all know tend to smell awful. You still have to be careful to wash your hands after applying and it is not for those who need results FAST! It does give me a bit more of a glow and I noticed some very subtle shimmers in it. Would repurchase for sure!

I can't wear this stuff long enough to even find out what the tan could look like. This is the second worst smelling skin product I have encountered. I have to wash my bed sheets after sleeping in this stuff. I never cared abut comments that complain about smell for any product because my only concern has always been to find a product that works. Smell is a second priority. But this stuff smells so awful it is sickening.

I have been using this product for quote a few years. I am naturally very pale (nw15) but I use this on my arms and legs every day after I shower, it helps me to not look ghostly white. I don't ever look orange, it looks perfectly natural. Also, I have pretty dry elbows if I don't use lotion, and this keep my dry skin at bay. I have purchased this many, many times.

The smell was tolerable but after day 3 it really felt like my skin couldn't breathe!!! I'm back to being pale again and learned to love it that way! :)

Turned me orange... Just don't use too much and this product is okay. I like the comment about exfoliating then letting the product soak in for 30 mins and then exfoliating it off again. That could work for me.

This is a very natural looking self tanner. I get people asking me if I go to the tanning bed or something because my skin is always tan and glowing. I don't really like the smell but i've smelled wayy worse! My husband even uses this and he really enjoys it too.

This is the first self tanner I tried and the only one I will ever use.
It didn't make me orange,it's not streaky, and it lasts a long time. The smell bothered me at first but now I like it.

This is my first self-tanner, and I have to say that I like it a lot. I used this on my legs once a day for a week, and it worked quickly. The only problem was that it would turn almost orange in some places, like around my ankles and my knees, so I stopped using it, but started again for the summer. I like this product now, but it's very important to exfoliate when you use it. I put this on before I shower and let it sit in for at least 30 minutes. It does smell, but it's tolerable to me. After it has soaked in, I take a shower and exfoliate, insuring that I get no orange knees, and also getting rid of the smell. Then I apply my favorite body lotion, and voila! In a week, I had a nice summer glow.

This is the first self-tanner that I've ever used, and I'm very pleased with it so far. I'm a camp counselor, and I end up with a very noticeable "shorts tan" each summer, so at this point I'm only using it to make my legs appear to be one color. It's definitely working--I've been using this for about a week now (at least once per day, sometimes twice), and I've already noticed that my skin is developing a natural-looking, streak-free tan where I used to be awkwardly pale. The difference between my sun-tanned skin and my artificially-tanned skin has been drastically diminished.
The only thing that I don't love about this product is the chemical scent. I don't find it to be overpowering, but it isn't pleasant and it does linger. I wouldn't put it on if I knew that I had somewhere to go during the day where I didn't want to smell like self-tanner. Otherwise, it's a great product and I will definitely be buying it again.

I love this product. :) It's really foolproof in application- since you build the color gradually, it's virtually streak free. It does have a unique smell, but it's not overpowering, and it doesn't "stay". Compared to other self tanners, this is deffinetly my favorite. :)

I like this product because I am admittedly the most worst person at applying self-tanner. This is mistake proof on two fronts. Since this builds color gradually, it won't show streaks with uneven application. Secondly, since it's a moisturizer, it's not as drying as some formulas. Since I don't exfoliate as often as should, this doesn't show any patchiness.
Note - all self-tanners smell and this is no exception. However, if you are looking for natural, gradual, and have patience - this is a great option.

I'm ambivalent about this product. I love it because when I put it on at night, I can definitely notice a difference the next morning, whether it's my first time using it on freshly exfoliated skin, or after a few days of use. It gives me such a beautiful, warm tan. I'm NC 15 and the light is perfect for me, I think. It doesn't turn me orange as long as I rub it in really well. My patience is that of 2 year old child though so I always end up turning orange around my ankles/heels because I don't rub it in too well. I only notice the orangy-ness after about a week or so of daily use. The good thing is that any orange tint is very easy to wash off with a light exfoliation so I can start off fresh again! The thing I absolutely hate about this product is that it's shimmery -- which I don't believe the packaging indicates. I'm fine with shimmer -- when I want it. I use a separate lotion if i want to look extra glowy/shimmery and I bought a lotion especially for that purpose. I hate it when a lotion has shimmer when I don't want it to so I really wish the packaging indicated that. I wouldn't even call this shimmer though, more like glitter because the chunks are kind of big. You don't notice it though unless you're staring at your skin quite closely.
The smell doesn't bother me too much. At first, I actually liked it, but now the smell is getting a bit sickening. Of course, I have been smelling it every day for the last two months or so.

This product did the trick for me within 3 applications and I'll admit that yes it did give me color but for me, it was more like a "dirty" tan. Especially in pictures I looked really brown and I also find the odor was a bit strong. On the good side it doesn't streak.

Gah, this stuff is SO gross. i'm a redhead and have light skin so i wanted to try getting a subtle summer glow last year. first, the smell actually made vomit. like.. i literally threw up from the smell lingering on me all day. a secondly after three days i looked like a streaky mess. i've since given up on self tanners and embraced my pale skin which has been the best decision ever!
