I bought this, in part because "InStyle" magazine chose this as the best facial self-tanner for 2013. I have to say application is easy. Put some on a cotton ball, swab it evenly around your face, and wait. The color that develops is a believable bronze. A keeper.

Was in two minds about this (hence the 3 star rating). I use the Clarins self-tanning milk and really like it as its so natural (tho smells a bit). I thought this might work better for my face. I am as pale as a ghost. Whilst you could argue this is very natural, its also gives barely any color, i can put it on and still be as pale as a ghost :S ... However, instead of throwing my money down the drain, I used it by putting on with my hands reasonably generously without moisturiser underneath and found it turned out quite well. Gives a nice glow without looking like you have been tangoed.

Very excited to try. Living in Alaska I just want to look like part of the living without using a tanning bed on my face. It applied nicely, no noticable odor. The next day I noticed some color.... But I got pimples ? Hmm tried it again one week later and ops broke out again. I will have to return this stuff.

This is the first self tanning product I've ever used, so I was a bit nervous before purchasing it, but so many people love this, that I decided to give it a try. First of all I found directions for use very confusing. On the box it says "use on clean, dry skin", on the bottle it says "use after your moisturizer" (or maybe the other way round), and on Clarins website they recommend to moisturize before application...Anyway, I used it on the top om my night cream, and then decided that it must've been a misteake as nothing happened for another 4 hours. Next morning I've noticed a very very slight tint on my face. Not yellow, not orange, just a bit warmer skin tone. I washed my face and applied some more of this product and almost immediately my face started to look darker. As I have nothing to compare it with, I can only judge by my first impression, and I have to say, that I will continue to use this product. The color looks very natural after 2 applications, although it looks a bit as if u just been sunbathing, tiny redish I would say, but still nice and I am very fussy when it comes to any artificial beauty improvements. No streaks, very even coverage, my skin just looks healthier. Would recommend.

I have been using this product every night for a week. For the first application i applied in the afternoon, then didn't take it off until morning the next day (at least 18 hours). At first i was so disappointed, and was ready to return it, thinking it was a waste of money and time. Basically no colour had come up at all, and this is not marketed as a gradual tanner!!

However, in about another 5 hours some colour developed out of nowhere. Nothing dark, just a golden colour.

I have continued to use it every night since, and the golden colour has remained, without becoming orange, or unnaturally dark.
I personally think it probably gets you to what your natural ability to tan would bring up in your skin - I've come to this conclusion because I once spent 2 months in the tropics on holiday, in the sun everyday (btw tanning naturally is almost impossible for me) and all I ever developed was a light golden colour. Clarins Liquid Bronze is a bit more coloured than that :)

Possibly would go orange on others who are able to tan easier ?

I would buy again, it's a little bit greasy, but a lot better than other facial tanners I've tried, and my skin hasn't had any reaction :)

Don't bother with it if you want an intense tan. There are plenty of other products on the market that will achieve that for you. This is just for slight colour.

HG material!
BUT, it only works on me when I am already slightly tanned! I use it everytime after a beach vacation to give my tan an extra kick. It gives a super natural color not only on the face.Because it is very liquid, no problems with streaks.

This product just didn't work for me. I read all the reviews, and seeing as they were, for the most part, all positive i decided to buy it. What a waste. Im very pale, and this does nothing for me. The first time i used it my skin was a little less ghostly white but i wasn't 'tan' and my face didn't look any darker. I've been using this for months on my face at night after exfoliating, but no color at all shows up. I wish i could return it for the bronzer by clarins that is actually supposed to make you face 'really tan'. Unfortunately i can't and i don't know what to do with it since it doesn't work.

When I started to use this self tan product I was impressed. It left my face a beautiful bronze colour and covered up any existing imperfections, meaning I could wear less makeup.

However, these initial positive effects were hugely outweighed when I started to develop a few huge, sore, red, shiny spots - the likes of which I have never experienced before (and my skin is by no means perfect). Not only were they unnaturally severe compared to what I am used to, but they also developed on areas of my skin that I have never had any problems with before. After a month I guessed the culprit of my new skin nightmares, and stopped using Clarins Liquid Bronze. Never again have those vile red lumps resurfaced. Although I am still trying to get rid of a little red scar which remains to remind me of the horrible product that caused me so much trouble.

'Do not buy me'.

HG status. I am a pale/medium complected with a fair amount of redness and a pink birthmark between my brows. I apply this with my fingers to face, neck and chest. It is easy to apply evenly due to the watery texture and creates a nice bronzey glow, it's more of a gradual self tanner, no super brown pop but i can definitely see the difference. I ise 2-3x a week in the summer. Perfection.

I don't get it, are you all being paid?? I bought this cause of the reviews on here and it's awful. I am very pale, but not shockingly so. I put this on once it doesn't show up, twice and I look orange. I'm normally very level headed about reviews, but honestly its terrible. I've tried again and again convinced I'm doing something wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. It's uneven as well... st tropez is better, still not amazing though. Don't buy it, please!

Yet another one of my HG products for years that I've somehow forgotten to review.

I apply this white, runny self tanner with a cotton round after I get out of the shower and enjoy watching it "develop" over the course of the next hour or two afterwards into a nice, healthy bronze "glow." This does not have a strong smell and does not break me out (I have some pretty picky sensitive skin). The only thing is that I wished the color stayed longer than a day or two, also the price is slightly high for the amount of product you get and I find that it is somewhat less effective toward the bottom of the bottle.

I've been using this on my face and L'Oreal Sublime Glow lotion in medium on my body - I tried the Clarins Gelee Auto-Bronzante Express Self Tanning Gel but it twas just too orange on my poor pasty legs. It's a good match for my skin tone and wallet since the L'Oreal is less than $10 and lasts a long time.

Overall, a great product that I've repurchased many times over the years.

This is the best self tanner I've found for my face. It gives me a nice glow and evens out my skin tone without being irritating. I usually only use it one or two days in a row because after that it can start to look yellow.

Hope I am in the right Clarins category, I am reviewing the Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning for the Face and Decollete'.

I love this product! I am so pale and even more-so now after using Obagi products that bleach and even-out my skin tone. Though I didn't think it was possible my face is even more pale than before! I love how easy this product is to apply and how goof-proof it is. It does not streak or clump anywhere so I don't have to be super-careful when applying it. It absorbs and dries quickly so I can continue on with my skin routine.

I use it after I wash and apply my Obagi products and before I apply my sunscreen. Within hours it gradually gives me the light color I need without being too stark or fake. It's just a subtle "sun kissed" even color for my fair skin.

I use this product solely for my face alongside the Delicious self-tanner for my body. It has never once made me break out, nor has it turned me orange. I apply it with my fingers like I would a moisturizer, then vigorously wash my has as it has stained my nails before, and it looks gross! I make sure this is dry then I sleep with it on & rinse it off in the morning. It's never streaked or splotched, and always leaves a brilliant, real-looking bronze behind. It is expensive, but I'd rather look naturally tanned than orange!

Ok, I purchased this self tanner b.c I wanted a nice brown colour to my skin.
This self tanner is NOT brown. This self tanner has more of that burned look...that you get from the sun, but in a natural way. So this does not work for me b.c I have naturally pink undertones to my skin and this self tanner just accentuates them..I also blush a lot. This self tanner has a bit of a red/orange-y tint to it. It's not noticeable but...I do see it.
It does look very natural, like your own skin. It's not streaky at all no matter how uneven you apply it b.c it just dissolves into your skin(kinda like that Almay smart shade fndt.) so there's no way of messing up. It comes out white, but again don't worry b.c you cannot mess it up. I promise. I'v tried lol.
Another thing, I found that it is not very long lasting.
I apply this to my face/neck/chest area and I do wash my face..but when I didn't wash my neck for like 2 days I found that this self tanner just kind of dissapeared on it's own..
which is not what it's supp. to do..in my experience anyway. I'v never had a self tanner just disappear on me without me washing it away. Not that fast anyway. And when I did wash my face I found a lot of it came off..
so that's not too good. :/
Another plus is you only need a little bit, and you will get a nice, dark colour. It does not break me out. which I found surprising, usually self tanners break me out. It smells really nice, kind of like a light floral/milky smell. No self tanner smell for sure.
and I think that's everything..
The packaging is ok..but I would prefer a sqeeze tube of some sort because this product is very watery/thin ..so it comes out fast. But again, you only need a tiny bit.
overall $40 is not worth it in my opinion. I would not purchase it again.
I will stick with my Neostrata self tanner. for $25.

Perfect face tanner & I have trialed many of them over the years with this one coming out tops every time. Can't ask for more: it tans up quite nicely (looks natural to me), does not irritate nor sting my sensitive skin and moisturises my dry face all at the same time. I don't really even need to add extra moisturiser during the day (and that's saying something with my very dry skin). The only place I don't apply it is near my eyes, there I apply a Day/Night or Eye cream, always. When I also apply makeup ontop of it, the foundation goes on smoothly with no pilling. :). Has a mild tanning-product scent and a full sized 125ml bottle lasts and lasts. Only need to use a little every few days in Winter, and perhaps once a day in Summer. Product weight is like a lotion, but not too runny, it's easy to apply. It actually saves me on Day moisturiser when I use it. I've used this both day & night after cleansing with no problems. When I use it at night, I wait a while after application to allow it to settle in and then apply a Night cream over the top. No streaking on my skin either but I exfoliate once a week. Not oily or greasy - like I said: perfect! 5/5

SMELL: Light, one of the lightest scented tanner products out there. Pleasantly surprised. ...
FEEL: Light milky liquid lotion. A little goes a long way. Glides on. Stays moist and dewy through the day. Can be greasy if too much applied (Can blot with tissue). ...
COLOR: Sheer difference after first use. Noticeable glow after the second or third day. More matte tan after day 4. A little tad more orange than my olive-toned tan on the rest of my body... but a lovely color on me. (Jergens works faster though)
USE:.. I received a sample from Sephora, and tried it on my face for a week. The sales lady told me NOT to exfoliate, however I have dry patches that developed more color. It was easy to correct by putting more on the lighter spots, as the tanner is so gradual. It also lasted about 2 days after I stopped using it. I could use it every second day after I achieved the color I wanted.
CONS: A benefit was that the tanner brought more circulation to my face for a rosy glow on my cheeks. The con was it irritated my skin after day 3 or 4.
** I might buy this again, but I'm currently trying Perricone's No Sun Tanner first.

Hate this bronzer. I tried to replace my Kanebo, but this was a huge failure.
I had to use it several times to see a result - very orange with streaks.
I am very disappointed. But I tried to use it on my legs and it seems to be o.k. for the legs.
Will try the Chanel self-tanner. Definitely not buying it again.

SIGH. I really wanted this product to work. The product ITSELF is fantastic as far as evenness, very VERY light feeling, not greasy in the slightest, no lingering odor (actually there is a faint smell but it is very pretty, no word of a lie, even my husband thought it was nice).

BUT... there is literally NO colour to be had from this! I used it for 2 weeks now, and one time i was like "ok lets just put MORE on in case I'm not applying enough product" annnnnnd ORANGE. There is no middle ground here. SO unfortunate as I love everything else about it, super fast drying, so so lightweight, like unbelievably lightweight, and didnt break me out one iota.

On to try the next product, I hate this guessing game crap! And so does my bank account
