Beautiful colour on my NC50 skin. It glides on perfectly, I normally add some carbon to the outer corners, just to smoke it out, and sometimes some woodwink in the tear duck and massive false eyelashes (if I'm going out)

LOVE it!! Gorgeous color for anytime wear and looks great with blue eyes for a pop of color besides a smoky brown or bronze! Always in my makeup bag.

I absolutely LOVE this shadow. The best way I've found to wear it is over black. Use a soft kohl blended over the lid or a black paintpot as a base then pat this over it. It looks absolutely stunning on green or blue eyes.

Cranberry is a very pretty Red plum with a pinkish undertone. Its a Frost finish, and the texture is smooth and easy to blend. It's a shade like MAC's Star Violet, you either love it and it works for you or you hate it and think it makes you look sickly. Star Violet is more of a brownish plum instead of a red, but they're both around the same tone-wise. Anyways, I feel like this color looks good on cooler skintones as the pinkly plum can compete with the natural pink in ones skin and add to ruddiness. The color also looks great on darker skin women and pretty much any eye color, so that is a bonus. The easiest way to use this color is as an accent. I like to do a color like Jest all over the lid, Cranberry through the crease and maybe Sketch on the outer corner for a pretty purple smokey eye. You can also use it with cooler plums like Fig 1 to tone the pink down a lil. If you like pinks and purples this looks pretty with Stars and Rockets on the lid, Cranberry in the crease and Carbon on the outer corner. This is a nice bright, but still smokey eye. For what I like to call a "Sunset eye" I like Cranberry in the crease with Coppering on the lid and Handwritten on the outer corner. Overall if this works for your skintone this is a really versatile shade to have in your collection. Once you start using it in different ways you realize how much use you can get out of a shade that can look scary in the pot. I hope some of my pairings help some of you find new ways to use this beautiful color.

For me, the two best MAC eyeshadows are Cranberry & Club. That said, Cranberry looks the best on my brown eyes. Whether I combine it with other shadows or use it alone, it never fails to make my eyes look larger and prettier. I often combine it with a warm light brown, putting it in the center of my eyelid to bring out the color of my eyes. Cannot emphasize enough how great this color is. Although it looks a little scary - it is just a superb color!

I have had this for ages and never used it a whole lot, because I felt like in the crease it looked like a bruise. But when my coppery-red Falling Star started to show more pan than shadow, I rummaged through my collection for a slightly similar color. When I came across Cranberry I decided to try it as an all-over lid color, and I loved it! Looks rich and sumptuous, without being too bruised looking. I love it, and I am so glad I found a use for it!

I absolutely love this eyeshadow..It is a very flattering color for green eyes like mine..I often combine it with sable all over lid and cranberry on the crease,,or with woodwinked on lid and cranb on crease..And i love doing smokey eyes with this and a little black.So many combinations and so beautiful color..I will buy it again and again!

Beware... this eyeshadow can make you look sick or emo... the only way I can make this shadow work and not look scary is to wear it over another neutral shadow like UD Stray Dog. I apply the neutral on the lid and above the crease and then layer cranberry over it in the crease... it helps to tone down the red. Check out my blog for pics:

I'm not very skilled with eye shadow application yet, so I can't offer much feedback except for this:


PROS
--- deeply pigmented
--- very flattering for green or hazel eyes (like me)
--- a little bit goes a long way if you use it over eyelid primer
--- seems to be a versatile color

This is my only MAC eye shadow that I have loved and used so much that I've ordered a new pot of it. My first pot lasted me 4 years. I didn't use it daily because I was busy with college, but I've used it a lot these past 2 years. I just opened my new one a few days ago.

i'm actually re-reviewing this after having owned it for another year. this is a shimmering pinky, purple burgundy with a warm base. it's a gorgeous, unusual colour with great pigmentation, but can take many tries to make it your perfect colour. i want to share some of the ways in which i've used this over the months to give anyone some ideas.
1. 'Naked Lunch' from lid to brow, 'Carbon' in the outer corner, 'Coquette' in the crease and this blended over the crease, outer corner and outer lid with a flat shader brush, as well as on the lower lash line.
2. this on the lid alone with 'Carbon' in the outer corner and 'Handwritten' in the crease.
3. this on the lid mixed with 'Moon's Reflection' and any whitish highlight to make a lavender and then something else in the crease/outer corner if you want.
4. this mixed in the crease with 'Coppering'
i also advise that you load a brush with this and take it with you in your make-up bag because this colour tends to fade.
i also wanted to add that my eyes are a warm brown colour, and someone said they thought i had hazel green eyes from a faraway glance (which i don't), i was just wearing this! green-eyed ladies definitely need this colour!
i think this is definitely one to try.

Since I'm such a neutral fanatic, I figured that I needed some color in my eyeshadow collection, so during my colored eyeshadow haul I picked this up.
Cranberry was a shade that I knew that I would like from the start--it's a frosty cranberry that you can wear with many, many other shades like you wouldn't imagine. It's much more versatile than any other non-neutral eyeshadow shade, in my opinion.
The texture is also a lot softer and more "buttery", like UD eyeshadows are, than other MAC eyeshadows, which I really like. You could probably wear this all day without it fading or creasing, even without primer or a base, as the color pay-off is great and there isn't fall-out!

Several combinations I came up with using Cranberry:
-All over lid with Beauty Marked on outer lid and into the crease and Pink Freeze on inner corners and inner lid.
-Woodwinked or UD Half Baked all over lid with Cranberry on outer half of lid; deepen the farthest outer part of lid with Brun; add Brun into crease; and Nylon on inner corners.
-All over lid, blended out with Expensive Pink.
-All That Glitters all over lid, Cranberry on outer lid (good for neutral, everyday look).
-SUNSET-INSPIRED: Amber Lights or Goldmine on inner 1/2 lid; Expensive Pink on middle lid; Cranberry on outer lid; deepen farthest outer part of lid with Beauty Marked; Soft Brown into crease for blending.
There are other looks, of course, but these were my favorites. (:

Would I repurchase? Yes.

I've been eyeing this shadow for a while now and was kind of intimidated by it since it looks so harsh and red for the eyes but boy I was wrong! It's such a gorgeous dark pink and plummy colour that goes so well with any eye colour. I was also hesitant to buy this colour since I have dark circles and I was scared this would make me look even more tired but it is so gorgeous and eye popping! I used it with the colour toasted from the naked palette on my whole lid, buck from the naked palette in the crease and smoked out cranberry in the outer-v. It's soo beautiful I adore this. I also use it on top of purple eyeliner to make it pop on my eyes. Probably my favourite new eyeshadow so far.

Cranberry is probably my favorite non-neutral color shade by MAC. This color just works for my eyes and coloring. The shade is just like the fruit, very rich cool toned red with pink tones. Stunning for brown eyes and works well with most neutral shadow shades. Cranberry does contain a bit of shimmer in it but it is subtle. The pigmentation is great and this shadow blends nicely.

Cranberry is a must have for those who like spicy warm colors and works well with any-blue, green, brown, hazel- eye color. It glides on smoothly and has finely milled shimmer. I'm typically not into reds and pinks on my lids but Cranberry just works for me without making my eyelids look inflamed. For those who want to do color, but don't want to do anything too bold or loud, try Cranberry. I'm looking forward to wearing it this Fall.

Gorgeous cranberry red color just like the name suggests. Can be swiped on for a less pigmented look, or patted on for more intensity. It might seem like a color that isn't very versatile or wearable, but it is the complete opposite of that! It looks beautiful with almost any other color you can imagine, and you can do a number of different looks with it. It goes on smoothly with minimal fallout (with a primer) and is easy to blend. It is shimmery but not overly so. I was afraid it would look gross/sickly especially since I have severe dark circles, but it doesn't at all. At $15 it is expensive for a single eyeshadow, but it's versatility makes up for the price, in my opinion.
(A dupe for this is Maybelline sinful sinnamon baked eyeshadow duo - I have tried them both and they are almost identical).

Although this only rates at this time 4.2, everyone seems to like it, just don't know what to do with it. Firstly, I never, ever thought I would wear a frost. I read Paula Begoin's review and she rates these high and I see why - it is not a frost, it is a sheen,and a pigmented one at that. This rivals, the formula,anything by Burberry or Dior, and that is saying a lot. I am over 40 and don't want the gltiz, but these do not have it.
This is mauve with a touch of bronze, a real beauty. I use it this way as it is too dark on the lid and not dark enough for the crease and as I have close set eyes I do not shade the outer "v": I use Pink Frontier or any pink shadow (have green eyes, so pinks and mauves look good) on the lid, then either copperplate, Weathered or Handwritten in the crease, then go over the crease color with Cranberry. It makes everything blend in beautifully and I have a true mauve eye look, something like the Dior Stylish Move quint I used to own but better. These frosts seem more h/e then the mattes or satins, they are more like the Veluxe but easier to blend,more pigment. Highly recommend.

Cranberry is a warm reddish pink with a coppery sheen to it. This eyeshadow has a good colour payoff, but I prefer to use it over a base to bring out maximum vibrancy. MAC's discontinued burgundy paint pot, Artifact, is the perfect cream base to use, but NYX's jumbo pencil in Rust is a good dupe.


I have heard that this particular shadow tends to crumble or break easily, so just be careful when handling or depotting it.


Cranberry works very well to highlight green eyes. I've added a photo to the gallery above to show how I wear it most often. To avoid accentuating redness in or around your eyes, it is a good idea to use a cool, dark colour around your eye to act as a barrier. I use black kohl liner to line the waterlines, MAC Carbon in the outer corner to add depth to my lid and lots of black mascara. Breaking the red with a line of black works well to bring focus to green or blue eyes, instead of bringing attention to little red veins.


In my opinion, Cranberry can look good on all skin colours and is a surprisingly versatile shadow to own. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous colour! Lovely, rich and pigmented. My favourite way to wear it at the moment is blended with black. I could see how it could make some people's eyes look sore depending on their skin tone, but I haven't had this problem. Would definately repurchase.

I was super iffy about this eyeshadow. I don't even know why I bought it in the first place. I assumed it would be bright red and really showy. It turned out to be a really nice eyeshadow. It's a shimmery reddish color that actually looks really pretty! It's really pigmented and goes on really smoothly. I'll definitely buy this again when I finish mine

Such an amazing cranberry, fiery red with some copper in it color. It makes my brown eyes pop like crazy. I've worn it as a smokey eye, which is great for going out. Most often I wear it on my lower lash line, which makes my eyes light up. I use it sparingly, so I doubt I'll ever run out, but this is one of MACs finest eye shadows. I can't use this when I am really tired though because it makes me look like death lol. On days that I look well rested it looks great though.
