I dont' understand the hype about this brand - in particular, the Shea/Honey line. Fortunately, the pharmacy I went to had a tester, so I didn't have to fork out the money for it. First of all, the metal cap is awkward to screw off and on - and I've always found metal to be a bad choice for lids on products, especially if they are stored in the bathroom. the jar itself and the label are nice, European-looking in its simplicity. The second thing I noticed was the scent - because if I don't like the smell, I most likely won't use it. the Shea/Honey stinks - it smells nothing like shea and if there's honey in it, it is masked by some strong synthetic scent that I have a really difficult time to describe... not found in nature, that's for sure! Number three: the texture is weird - I expected a balm to be much more solid/thick than 'liquidy'. I can't vouch for the effectiveness of this product as I only touched it once and took it right off with a tissue. And then there's the price: I don't feel these products are worth the price they are asking. I don't care how exotic they try to make their products seem just because they're from France. All that said, however, others seem to be really pleased with this line, so maybe I came across a really old batch or something. I would recommend trying before buying.

This has became my staple balm for the summer. I went to the Dominican and as the sun lay on my skin it glistened with a supermodel, sinful shine!! and it was LONG LASTING!! Yes a little greasy but very moisturizing. Needless to say I didn't wear any frangrace. The smell of honey was VERY STRONG but dissipated after an hour or two. For me this was better than Micheal Kors Leg Shine and Runway balm! I wish the packaging was better..the jar is heavy and it was like scooping out slime. peace, love and lipgloss

I'm obsessed with this balm! The smell is divine! Too bad it's being discontinued... I stocked up on the $7 tubs to last me for awhile.

One word...AWESOME!!! Moisturizes so well. Not greasy either. Will stock up. At the outlet store though since there it's $7 instead of $28.
EDIT: It breaks me out! Can't use anymore. I even have zits on my arms and that has never happened. : (

I love the texture of this balm! By far the best honey-scented lotion I've ever used. The scent and the moisture last for hours. I got lucky on the price...I hit the B&BW outlet in my town and got it 75% off the retail ($28). I'm really thinking about going back and buying more....usually when they get something in mass quantities it's being discontinued . It's not too greasy, but at the same time feels like it "gloves" your skin. Best moisturizer ever in my book!

I'm in love with this balm and the scent. Very rich feeling and leaves my skin feeling very moisturized. The gorgeous scent is a huge plus but I'd even buy it unscented for the consistancy of it. I always feel pampered after using this:) But it is way too expensive in my opinion. I would use it more often if it didn't cost so much. For now I only buy it on sale and use a little at a time:)

I'll definitely be repurchasing. My winter skin loves it and I appreciate the scent. YMMV.

I bought this and the orange/cinnamon ltd ed. This smells exactly like sweet pure honey to me but doesn't last very long which is fine by me. The consistency is definitely like a thin, non-sticky honey, but it melts into your skin and absorbs completely leaving it totally moisturized and nourished. I don't get the weird feel others talk about because it absorbs completely for me and doesn't seem to leave any residue behind. I don't think I'd use it in the summer as it's be too rich, but for my winter skin it's perfect.

Yep. This is the perfect moisturizer. Nothing has ever left my skin so perfect. The scent, in my opinion is heavenly, but I know a lot of people who find it too heavy. But i dont care, my skin has never been so soft! I will defiantely repurchase.

HG deep moisturizer. WOW! I got a free sample w/ a purchase at Bath and Body -- the 50 mL lasted a good 6-7 months. It is really thick, but very smooth, and soaks into skin (especially if it's damp) very quickly. And the effects?? SUPER soft, smooth skin!!! I've used this on my cuticles, hands, face, feet, elbows -- it's pure magic. It smells like real, delicious honey too (may be a little too much for some folks). BBW rarely has a sale on these, but I caught a holiday sale on victoriassecret.com, and found the 250 mL jars for only $8 (reg. $28). 8 months later, I've still got more than 3/4 of the jar left. Yayyy!

Love it, love it, love it! I've been using this for 1 year - the ONLY thing to clear up an eczema patch I have. When I stop using it, the patch returns. I love the scent & love the packaging. I wouldn't say it's the most effective or long-lasting body cream out there as it doesn't make my skin super soft, but it sure clears up the problem spots.

I just love this scent in all the Le Couvent honey/shea line. The consistency of this balm is like honey, but it goes on smooth and sweet smelling. I carry a small jar of it in my bag. Be careful, this stuff could be addicting. I find I use it for no reason sometimes. If the big jar went on sale, I'd get it. Go to ebay or wait for a store sale because the regular price is overated.

HG Body balm. I mix this with Vaseline Intensive care and it is wonderful. I stocked up on 3 jars when it went on sale, b/c if you don't catch it on sale, it's too expensive. This is my favorite product hands down. Smells just like honey.

This is a great body balm, it's more like a gel form balm. It smells exactly like real honey and moisturizes so great. I use it on my feet to get them ready for summer and it instantly made them smooth. I think it's better than any lotion or cream I've tried, and it seems to be more natural than most. The only thing I wonder about is attracting bees. I don't love the scent for all the time, but it is sweet and comforting to me. People will definately comment that they smell honey somewhere in the room! I won't use it as an all over body balm, just on rougher spots and dry patches.

I agree that this is a tad on the greasy side, but after a few minutes it really does soak into the skin. I love the scent, I want to smell like this all the time! I have the trial size of this and it will probably last a long time- I won't repurchase because I really prefer the texture of the body milk.

I bought the trial sized version, and I fell in love with the smell. I also have the Honey and Shea cream for hands, but I prefer the body balm. I think that the body balm does a better job moisturizing my hands (I have eczema).

Wow, this REALLY smells like honey. In fact, it seems as if this should be sticky b/c it smells and looks so much like real honey!
The balm is a little greasy, but not horrible. I prefer a lotion consistency to this but I can definately work with this. Its great for putting on my feet at night during the winter. Put socks on over it and then wake up to lovely feet! The smell is long lasting and pleasant. I don't know if I would buy this for $28 or not but on sale at $10 it was a STEAL!

After finishing my big giant tub of this balm, I just had to add my raves for this product. At first whiff, it smells like honey, and the consistency is almost that of honey, which I love! It is very moisturizing and not as troublesome to apply, it's like lotion only a bit thicker. Washing it off your hands is not that hard either, but I'd rather rub my hands on my knees or elbows instead of washing it off. There are only two things that I don't like about this product - the packaging (its in a big plastic tub with a lid that I wouldn't rely on if you were traveling with it), and the price (it's a whopping $28 but if you happen to chance upon it during a BBW sale like I did, you can get it for $10). So I will only buy this if it were on sale, but if you have the urgency to splurge for your winter dry skin, then this balm is definitely something worth trying out. Oh, and you can buy the trial size too if you don't think you can commit for a full size one.

I got this on sale at the semi-annual sale for $10 which is a great improvement over the original $28. Having said that I still think I would pay full price for this because this stuff is great. I LOVE the smell! It smells just like honey out of a bottle. The texture is sorta weird but after a while you get to use to and I actually kind of like it now. The balm is thick like but rubs in your skin easily. It does leave a somewhat greasy feeling at first but wears off pretty quickly. It has really helped my very dry skin and the smell last very long, better than any other cream/lotion I have tried. I will be repurchasing for sure!

I hate to be the one to dislike this, but I purchased this as I was advised that it was excellent for dry winter skin and was told by a friend that she uses it for her child's slight eczema in addition to his prescription creams. Being an eczema sufferer myself, I decided to try it out. The smell was so overpowering and medicinal (like pure honey, but not sweet) that I had to march it right back to B&BW. I had applied some to my hands at my desk during the day and even washing them with soap couldn't remove the smell completely! The balm texture is heavy, which is to be expected, but it was a little more greasy than I would have liked as well. Try this one in the store before you purchase! The large balm sells for $28USD.
