I like No7 products in general and have used No7 mascara in the past. There was a special on at Boots so I bought Intense Volume as I have short, light-coloured lashes and need volume. I was very disappointed - I put on countless coats to practically no effect, either volume- or length-wise. It was barely different to wearing no mascara at all. On the plus side, the brush and packaging are nice and it doesn't clump. If you have naturally long lashes and want just a hint of colour, this may be for you but it certainly wasn't for me.

I like a mascara that basically just colors and this is it (I don't really see any volume from this product). Great, natural looking mascara. Goes on clean and your lashes stay soft, with no clumps. Lasts all day and easily removes with regular face wash. The only way it could be better would be if it came in brown for us fair skinned girls!

Bought this with the £5 No7 voucher and also using my staff discount of 22.5% so I got this for around £4-5. I'm glad I didn't pay the full price of £11.50.
I can't really think of anything that stands out about this mascara. The brush is pretty standard, the formula is average and that's about it really. This didn't really curl my lashes at all, gave a little volume but it wasn't all noticeable as it made my lashes quite straight and flat. I haven't tried the waterproof version which would probably be better at holding a curl but at the moment I think I'll just stick to my £1.99 natural collection mascara. Packaging is nice and simple which I like, not fussy and over the top, but doesn't make up for the mascara being average.
Would choose a much cheaper mascara over this one that'd do the same if not a better job.

The color looks nice, it's light weight. But it's too clumpy and the brush is to large... you can't get in corners, and it doesn't seperate or make them long just clumpy and thick, but some people are into that. I will not be repurchasing ONLY because i prefer length and seperation, I don't like thick lashes. But don't let my opinion tell you that you shouldn't buy it, it's just not my style.

I'm so surprised by the negative feedback on this mascara as I absolutely love it. I used to use Ultimate Curl by 17, but recently it started to make my eyes water so I unfortunately had to change. Bear in mind, I was doing 12+ hour days so finding the perfect replacement was going to be a hard task! I originally intended to get No7's Extreme Length Sensitive, when a friend told me she had an unused sample of this mascara. Germ freak I am, I still cleaned the brush anyway, just to be sure that no one else used it either!
I have to say I love this. I have VERY sensitive eyes and this doesn't make them water at all unless I have 3-4 coats of it. I'm very fussy with mascaras as I have long, curly blonde eyelashes and need a mascara to make the most of them. This mascara delivered what I thought no mascara could - I wound up with china doll-like lashes! I tend to use it on the top lashes only now as my bottom lashes are also very long, and when I apply mascara on them I look like a Lady Gaga wannabe!
It looks good, makes my eyes really pop, it lasted the 12+ hour days and doesn't itch. For those reasons I'm giving it a 5/5. It did smudge VERY slightly on the 9th hour, but considering how it fared against my usual favourite this is hardly a setback. My Ultimate Curl used to itch/hurt my eyes FOUR hours into the day, let alone smudge.
I have found my ideal volume mascara. I will get this again in the No7 3 for 2 offer when this little tube runs out!

This is bad. It does not volumize at all! It just darkens and defines your lashes a little bit-but it is not enough, not even for a day natural look. Save your money, as it is not cheap and get something from Max Factor or L'Oreal.

I got this as a mini in one of the Boots No.7 Gift Sets. And this is my go-to mascara for a quick and fuzz free application. The brush is one of those old fashioned ones, it holds a decent amount of product and helps cover my lashes easily. I can reach those hard-to-get corners nicely and my bottom lashes ends up visible but not clown like. The mascara goo itself is black, not dark grey or anything like that, and it has a faint clinical smell.
I barely get any clumps and especially no spider-lashes when using this mascara, my lashes end up looking natural and defined. I do NOT get "intense volume" from brushing my eyelashes a couple of times, but I'd guess you'll get it if you keep on applying product long enough. However, I think there is something in it that my eyes are sensistive towards. My eyes get sort of watery and sore when I use this product. Too bad actually, for it is a decent mascara.
This is not the mascara if you want the false eyelashes look, or are looking for something that gives you optimum curl and volume. But it is nice for everyday use, or on those days you want to have the "no make up look". I do not have sensitive eyes, but my eyes still gets a bit runny. So if you easily react towards mascaras, you probably want to avoid this.
The mascara is much more expensive pr. ml than eg. mascaras from Max Factor. I do not think about No.7 as an high end mascara, even though it is more in the Dior range than other drug store brands. But you can usually get it on offers and stuff, and that makes the price reasonable.

I am not at all fussy with mascaras I have quite long curly lashes and most mascaras work. For me I thought this was really exspensive! £13.00!! the brush is really plain, it looks like the sort of mascara wands you get in magazines. I applied probably 5 coats and I tried it for more than a day but its really terrible. Did absouletely nothing. For the effort it took to apply it I may as well of not worn mascara for it gave no results. As always I love No.7 packaging and I usually love all their products but steer clear of this one!! xxx

I've had a few of these mascaras as GWP items - got to confess I've never bought one! They're 11 quid in the UK which (call me a cheapskate) seems a bit expensive for a Boots own-brand mascara to me. This is why I've said I wouldn't repurchase it - but I would happily use it if I was given it (which is NOT the case with a lot of mascaras).
Its good points are a nice, good-sized bristly wand, a not-too-wet formula which holds my curl, it doesn't leave my lashes crispy and it doesn't smudge any more than most other mascaras. It also applies enough in one coat to do the job when I'm in a hurry, and removes easily.
On the negative side, it can clump a bit so needs combing through with an eyelash comb sometimes. It doesn't provide loads of extra length or volume, just some.
In the end it comes down to price - this seems really expensive for a mascara that doesn't do anything special. Boots sell a Natural Collection Waterguard mascara for TWO QUID which performs better than this - same look, but also waterproof and smudgeproof. So am I likely to buy this one instead for five times the price? Er.......

I love the mascara! I have tried lots of other mascaras and haven't found one as good as this for the price. I have very long lashes, but they are blonde at the tips and quite fine. This mascara coats them nicely and doesn't clump. It makes my lashes look thicker and longer without looking too much. I also like the brush- it is big enough to add volume but has a pointed end to reach into the corner lashes. The only fault I do have with this mascara( and most others that I have tried) is that it rubs off around my eyes sometimes- i have really deep set eyes and oily skin and the mascara sometimes runs on my skin, especially if I am hot.
I think £11.00 is quite expensive for a boots own make mascara, however I buy mine off an auction site and only pay £3.00- bargain!

It takes a great deal for me to dislike a mascara. I can usually make it work with a comb or layering it with another, if for some reason the mascara isn't really working. This was like globbing on black goo. I tried everything to make it work, and nothing helped. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I find No 7 mascaras hit and miss. I used to love their Full Impact (although most people seemed to hate it!) I got IV as a trial size along with a giftset. I'm so glad I didn't pay for it because I couldn't get it to apply evenly at all. I got clumps instead of volume. (OK, so clumps are technically volume, but not the good kind!) My lashes looked messy - not the even, doll-like fringe I aim for. The formula dried up quickly, too.

This is a mediocre mascara. Nothing special, nothing spectacular.
On the positive side, it does not clump and gives medium volume --- but at the end of the day it smudges underneath the eyes.
Cannot even compare it to my new MAC Plush Lash.
Will not repurchase this again, there are waaaay better mascaras out there!

I bought this on clearance for $4.50 cad (regular price is $14) at Shoppers. Now I realize why it is on clearance. It is definitely not worth paying full price or clearance price for that matter. This is only a mediocre mascara.
It features a classic brush and the formula has a good consistency (not too dry or too wet). Also, it does not clump or smudge. However, this does not give me great length or great volume. I have skimpy asian lashes for reference. This has more of a natural defined look. Definitely does not give "intense volume" like its name. I would not buy again. There are much better drugstore volumizing mascaras out there (ie. L'oreal Voluminous).

Not impressed with this mascara, very average (i'm still looking for a mascara that will give me llama lashes but I think my expectations are too high). After 2 coats they looked ever so slightly thicker. Saw no lengthening at all. Back to Max Factor and Lancome I think.

Love this!
My lashes: Small eyes, dark, long, thick, STRAIGHT lashes.
I used it this morning when I couldn't find my other mascara (Ulta Max. Length Soft Curl) after curling my lashes. Oh my!
My lashes weren't LENGTHENED a lot, so I don't know if short-lashed people should use this, but they were thick, dark, luscious...held a curl and all! I added a little zigzag motion on my outer bottom lashes and I had big, beautiful eyes.
It really didn't clump, but I still ran a comb through to assure that the mascara dried evenly on both eyes.
Will def. buy again and I highly recommend!

i really like this mascara! i got it in a swap as an extra and if it weren't for that i know i would have never tried it. first off, it is a nice, dark black color. the texture is perfect- wet enough to be glossy and go on easily but not so wet that it kills your curl. i adore the brush, it is my favorite kind of brush for mascara: very dense, full bristles that are long and placed closely together, slightly tapering in length as they reach the tip. i find that these brushes give you the most thorough, clump-free, voluminous application and are about a million times better than any other kind. the formula feels nice and soft on your lashes and doesn't smudge, flake, or clump. you can layer this many times and never see even a bit of a clump, and THAT is pretty impressive! i love a mascara that you can put on, leave on for hours, and then touch up again by applying a fresh coat w/o creating tons of clumps and a spidery mess. on the other hand, this formula gives nice length but very minimal volume. it leaves my lashes nice and curled, darkened, and slighty fuller, but i would like a lot more thickness. for being called "instense volume" i think the name is a bit misleading. i have found that using one coat of this on my lashes and following it up with a coat of Bourjois Pump Up the Volume mascara gives it the extra boost of volume it needs and results in a really nice, dark, thick but not over-the-top lash look. i think this is a great mascara at a very reasonable price and i would definitely repurchase it. it's possibly one of my favorite drugstore mascaras!

I received this as a tester so cant comment on price. But, i love this mascara, its HG material if only it did what it said!! On me it doesnt add much volume but it spreads out my lashes and gives me a lovely natural look! Great for everyday, but not for the dramatic people, the one reason i wouldn't buy this again is because its very expensive (£9.50) and i dont want to pay this price when i have my HG mascara (Revlon Quick Thick) at atleast half the price!!

I got this as a sample so can't really comment on price or anything, but I don't think it really did a lot. Just made my eyelashes look normal, think it's about £9.50 to buy in Boots and it's a bit too expensive. Alright for ppl tho that only want a natural look though. :)
