The packaging is different then it is in the picture now. The crease color is small and when you try to get any on a brush it gets all over the other colors.
Also all of the colors are crazy unpigmented! I bought this bc the crease color was so pretty and it does not even show up at all on my lid.

I have had this for about 2 years.
I absolutely love this quad. I am using it now in the winter, and it looks amazing. All of the colors are nicely pigmented (the cranberry could be better), and stay in place without creasing or fading. I just wish that they would be a little smoother. I would recommend! :)
OH! The lid fell off on me. lol

The quality of the eyeshadow is a bit iffy, maybe a little chalky or something, but applies okay and stays all day. The shades are really nice and my favorite is the crease shade--a mauve-y sparkly pink.

I purchased the newer version of this quad (long liner pan, large base pan, smaller eyelid/crease pans) and I have noticed that the pigmentation in the newer versions of this quad are a bit chalkier and lackluster compared to the formulas of the version before (all pans were the same size). I have not tried the earlier version of Designer Chocolates though so old/new versions aside, I found this product to be so-so.
In their pans the colors for Designer Chocolates appears intense and are beautifully coordinated, but on application the pigment is chalky and dry, making them difficult to lift from their pans and even more difficult to build the intensity on the eyelids. Granted, Designer Chocolates is intended to look natural so this is probably why the pigmentation is so sheer. But I really appreciate the rosy-pink crease color as this significantly brings warmth to the eyes that's actually noticeable. I recommend this be worn with a primer, as otherwise you will probably not notice any color.
This is a great starter palette for beginners; you can't mess up. It's also a good everyday quad for day wear and for office looks, and it's very affordable at $4–$5. I personally would not repurchase this as I prefer stronger pigmentation and easier application. I am absolutely in love with Maybelline's Eye Studio Color Plush Quads, which are twice the price but softer/silkier in texture and better pigmentation, and with their Eye Studio Color Tattoos for their waterproof formula and shade intensity. But for those who just need the bare basics at an affordable price, Expert Wear quads are good enough.

We've all been there girls, it's Friday night your going out for drinks after work. You head to the bathroom to touch up your make up and there it is.....you've left your eyeshadow at home.....what are you to do. Duck to the nearest drugstore/chemist for a quick cheapie to do the job. AND thus I purchased the Maybelline Designer Chocolates Quad. It had the colours that I needed and it was under $15 (cheap for Austalia).
Pros: The quad will do the job, each colour is marked with it's 'job' liner, crease etc. I used these accordingly and got the desired effect and it stayed in place for a couple of hours. The colour combo is a great selection, neutral and natural.
Cons: The pigment in these shadows is not the greatest. You have to work with a very very very heavy hand to see any real result on your eyes.
When I swatched these for the photo above I really had to rub my fingers into the powder to get any product on my fingers. That being said, I think that this would be a great pallette for a young girl just starting to wear makeup. Not to hard to use and you can't make any REAL mistakes with it. Oh I ditched the crappy brushes though and used my own. WHICH I REMEMBERED BUT NOT MY EYESHADOW....... :-(

I love this palette! I've been reaching for it over my Urban Decay Naked2. I'm not seeing any problems with fading or low color pay off with these shadows, with the exception of the lid shade, which is a little chalky. I've been applying the CG Intense Shadow Blast in the beige on my lid prior to application, and that might be helping with the longevity.
By far, the pinky-burgundy/cranberry (crease) shade makes this quad stand out. I love brown and pinks/plums/burgundies together. That color combo makes my eye color pop.
My only complaint is that the packaging has changed. The base shade portion is pretty large, the lid and crease shades are small rectangles, and the "liner" shade (I use it in the outer corner) is long and skinny. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I will go through the crease color quickly because I will be using this with other shadows, too.

Not my favorite quad. I was thinking I would use this for an everyday look. Can be suitable to others but It didn't work for me. It has the payoff color and stays on the eye lid for the whole day. Affordable price, but not my cup of tea.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium Hair: Black Eyes: Black
Surprising enough, I reallyreally like this quad. I've been wearing it everyday for the past two weeks and it's gorgeous. What I do is blend a mix of the cranberry and liner shades into my crease, then pat the lid shade on my lid (obviously). Idk if it really makes a difference though, because the lid shade is so nude and chalky that it doesn't really show up. The sparkly white shade I could do without, but I occasionally put a tiny bit on the center of my lids. Overall, these are super cheap shadows that stay put with primer and are perfect for a casual day look!

These eyeshadows are a great everyday, even fall look. They are esay to use because they tell you where to put them. The packaging is a slight problem because the case is big in the middle and thin on the ends so it rocks and slides in my makeup drawers. The only problem i have is that the lid color is not dark enough and I have pale skin, but I would still recomend this because they are great and I use it all the time.

It's an ok eyeshadow palette for an everyday look. This palette would be ideal if you're not bothered much with makeup and want something easily affordable and mindless to apply in the morning. The eyeshadows are sheer but still give out an okay payout which makes it impossible to mess up. If you're starting out with makeup I would recommend this but for someone who has many eye shadow palettes then it's something you could go without. I expected the pink colour in the palette to be the main feature but it does come out a tad chalky. It was a little hard to blend out unfortunately.
Conclusion is that it's a palette you could go without and I'd honestly recommend spending your money elsewhere.. unless you can get it on a pretty good deal.

OMG!!! i don't think I ever bought worse eye shadow!!!! its soooo chalky!!! and the payoff is NONE... this would make fine toy eyeshadow for my 9 year old niece if it didn`t sting my eyes like hell!!
the colors are nice, the concept of a very natural matte eye is awsome but this could not have been a bigger failure for me!

This is blah! It wouldn't be bad if the color payoff wasn't so bad. I mean you have to build and build and build up the color to get a light wash of the color and I have my UDPP on too. Supposively there are two MAC dupes in this quad, but no way they're a dupe if you can't even get the color payoff out of them. Won't buy again, too much work to get color.

This quad is OKAY. Its not amazingly pigmented but if you dont mind building up color then it shouldnt be a problem. You will eventually get a nice color payoff. I tend to mix the lid and brow bone color together for my lids. And then very lighty define my crease with the brown color labeled 'outer corner'.
I dont find much use for the 'crease' color just because i dont know how to use the color on my eyes. But it is definetely a nice color. I once used it as my liner for my bottom lashes. I liked it but i still dont use it.
I would only buy this product if it came with just the 'lid' 'browbone' and 'outer corner'.

OK, so in general it is a very pretty quad. I have used it for several years and find it to go well with my skin tone and green/ hazel eyes. The best way I've found to use it is to use the crease (rose) as my lid shade and the brown in my crease. I find that the shade that is labeled for lid disappears on me and can look chalky. Be cautious of the highlight as it can "flash" brightly in pictures. These aren't the best quality but also not bad for being drugstore shadow. I have found that they work better with a good primer. Overall it is a good buy for the price and I will prob repurchase when I hit pan.

I normally hate Maybelline products, except their mascara, but I actually really like this. I can't remember buying this but I recently rediscovered it in my makeup collection and I've been playing around with it. I don't like the tan lid color. It's kind of chalky and I have other browns I like a lot better so I use those instead. I like the other 3 colors though---white, cranberry, and dark brown. I especially like the cranberry shade--I wish they sold it as a single. I like to put it in the crease with a light brown on my lid. It is a very flattering combination for my light gray eyes. The white is good for the inner corner of the eye and the brown works well in the crease or applied wet as a liner. I normally don't use eyeshadow primer on a daily basis but it is necessary with these shadows since they aren't super pigmented. They are fairly good quality for the drugstore, however, so I do recommend these if you are looking for no-brainer everyday eyeshadows. I've found myself using them quite often which is amazing considering I have 5 million other eyeshadows.

I was surprised by the lack of pigmentation I found in the crease shade. It is a beautiful rosy brown, but it doesn't come off very strong. While the color it does show on my lids is a nice mauvey color, it's not what the quad is advertising. As with most of the Maybelline quads, the lid and outer corner shades are lovely and have fantastic pigmentation. I plan to wear these every day! The highlight color seems misplaced, as it's a pearly white. I would have prefered a shimmery cream or peach, but maybe they were trying to make it white chocolate? Either way, it doesn't blend well with the lovely browns. The packaging is fantastic, the hinge keeps the lid in position, and the compact is slim and sleek. A nice quad, but don't expect to wear it all at the same time.

If you are one that likes a natural look then this is for you. The colors are sheer and very pretty. I think I will be able to use all as a lid color and use more pigmented eyeshadows for my crease or liner. Perfect for everyday.
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium Hair: Brunette Eyes: Blue
Stays on for long time without creasing.
Wonderful colours for BLUE eyes. :)
Will repurchase when all gone.
Only bad thing was its around $16-17 aussie dollars.
But will last a long time. <3
