Age: 30-35   Skin: Dry, Fair, Cool   Hair: Blond, Wavy, Fine   Eyes: Green

Shade: Dark blue with very soft, subtle sparkle, just enough to notice.
Formula: Creamy gel, easy to work with to achieve a thinner or thicker line, opaqueness is decent too, so no need to go over the line repeatedly to get coverage.
Packaging: Round glass jar, close the tightly so it won't dry out.
Overall: IMO this looks extra stunning on brown eyes, but I also like it on my light grey green eyes. Sapphire is great in combination with beige or taupe eye shadows. Definite repurchase, although a jar will last a long time, even with daily use. Price: $21.

Sapphire Shimmer make my brown eyes POP..lol. when Karla said Sapphire Shimmer is gonna be dc'ed..i rushed to the nearest BB store & bought it..i'm glad i did. i love pairing this with my naked eyes or when i do neutral eyes..it just POP.

Pros: gorgeous color, best staying power, nice packaging, can be applied easily, the texture is just creamy & good..smudgeproof for my humid country & waterproof too. i splash my face w/ water & the liner is still there, intact.

Cons: i feel that BB shimmery gel liner is not as smooth as the non shimmery ones..for ex. Black Ink is smoother than Sapphire Shimmer

Packaging: in a round clear glass with black lid. you get 3g of products in the jar for $21..

Reference: NC35-40.tan skin w/ yellow tones. dark brown eyes & hair. dry & sensitive skin.

Repurchase: yes, only if i can finish with this one..

one of my absolute favorite eyeliners! it makes eyes appear much white and is not as harsh as black. it lasts until you take it off at night and does not smudge throughout the day.
it looks gorgeous when you tightline and apply a super thin like of black eyeliner to the top lashline, then make a thicker line on top with the sapphire eyeliner, i've loved that look since i read that was one of sophia loren's makeup tricks.
this particular shade of blue also brings out my hazel eyes. it makes them pop and look a bit more green.
i also think this would really make brown and green eyes pop!

This is my first BB gel liner and I love it!! It's a beautiful navy blue. Sapphire goes on smooth and creamy, and it's so easy to apply with a thin eyeliner brush. I wore MAC's Violet pigment on the lid and this on the upper lash line. I never would have paired these two colors together, but I saw pics on the makeup board where someone paired purple and blue together for a shockingly beautiful eye look. I was hooked. I received so many compliments at work. This gel liner lasted all day and still looked fresh when I removed it that evening.

This is one of my HG gel eyeliners, apart from chocolate. It makes my dark brown eyes POP. I just love it! If you're tired of dark brown, black and all that try this. It's not a dull navy, it has a hint of shimmer and is vibrant but still pretty classy. I love it.

I was having the hardest time finding a blue or navy liner that didn't make my eyes look bloodshot and tired, this is it! Finally! It is a beautiful dark blue almost navy. I have tried it with Stila Kitten (a shimmery pink champagne) as a wash with Guerlain Oriental Metal on my waterline and tightlined on top and with Bobbi Brown brown stone (I would not normally try a brown with blue liner but it just felt right :)) on the lid and crease and Bobbi Brown Ivory as a highlight. Surprisingly it worked! I have a feeling I am going to be using this color a lot!
It goes on incredibly smooth and stays put all day!
I'm laura mercier nude in tm and tender rose in the mmu
It's worth the price and I will definitely repurchase.

My second fav BB gel liner (Expresso being the first). I wear this at least 3-4x/week - sometimes alone, sometimes layered over Expresso. Beautiful dark blue with subtle shimmer. Goes great with nude shadows.

**PICS INCLUDED**

I have a few of Bobbi Brown's gel liners and this color has quickly replaced the chocolate shimmer as my favorite out of all of them. It is such a lovely, deep dark navy blue, yet blends perfectly with your lash line. It goes great with my olive skin and dark brown/black eyes. When you wear it it really doesn't look like you have BLUE eyeliner on. The navy color is oh-so-subtle and lately I've been using this color even more than my black for everyday looks.

I haven't tried smudging it yet, I prefer to have the winged liquid liner look but I will definitely try that out in the future. The texture is heavenly, it glides on your lids so smoothly and when I say it lasts all day, I mean it lasts ALL DAY. At the end of my day when all the other makeup I'm wearing (concealer, blush, etc) seems to have melted off my face, this liner miraculously looks as perfect as it did upon application. If there is one color out of all of BB's gel liners I would suggest to EVERYONE, this would be it. It's just right for that subtle hint of color to brighten up an otherwise uniform everyday look. Thank God it's a permanent item, will definitely continue to repurchase.

Click continued for pics. Looks a lot more dark in real life.

EDIT: So apparently it's being discontinued. Bought myself two back-ups, so it should last me a while. Damn you BB!!! You keep an ugly color like Violet Ink as part of the permanent line but discontinue this gorgeous one!

I am a self-proclaimed black eyeliner girl, I use it everyday. For years I’ve been reading how Navy liner makes brown eyes pop so I figured I’d give this a shot. I’m so glad I did. I LOVE this liner! It really does make my eye color stand out. The color is a beautiful dark shimmery inky blue which does not look black on my lids. It stays true to the color in the pot. The color applies smoothly and evenly, and as with most gel liners once it sets, it wears like iron. The pots are small and it is a bit pricy, but you only need the tiniest bit so it lasts forever.

This color is so great! Never worn a blue eyeliner, but it fits my dark brown eyes perfectly. Eyes looking more wide and glowy and the dark blue color is not as hard as black. A must have for brown eyed girls!

As the first of my BB gel liner purchases, I really really wanted to like this. And at first I liked the colour (a beautiful, almost-navy blue) so much that I ignored the fact that unlike the other gel liners, this one would smudge on me, whether on bare or prepped lids. But honestly, this just didn't work for me. If I layered the colour on, there was no visible difference between this and any black pencil I'd use, since they'd both end up smudging. And if I tried to bring out the blue more by applying it more gently, it just sort of looked faded and smudgey on me, and for someone who doesn't have the luxury of checking on her makeup throughout the day, that just wasn't good enough for me. I still like the colour and the overall quality of BB's liners though, just not this one.

This deep rich blue makes my brown eyes POP. It makes a crisp line that totally intensifies without screaming 'I have blue eyeliner on!' It's a fabulous change from Sepia Ink (my dark brown neutral) and Hunter Ink (a rich dark green that gives a softer smoky look. I put this on with Beach Honey cream liner & Powder Pink pot rouge and looked fresh and bright. Bought'em all!

This was a risky purchase for me. The other reviewers have my coloring, but I was unsure if this would work for me. After looking at it many times at the BB counter I finally decided to buy it. Last night when I got home from work I was so anxious to try it. So the makeup remover came out and on it went. The consistency, just all of BB's other liners, is impeccable. The color was amazing against my dark brown eyes. It almost similar to navy, but with more depth and dimension. The shimmer is not noticable, but I smudged it a bit into the lash line per other reviewers suggestions to bring out the sparkle. Well it did work. My eyeliner brush is not the best so in order to make this work to its full potential I may have to buy a smudge brush. Stila apparently makes a good one.

The Sapphire is a beautiful jewel toned color-not bright, but not real dark. It's just right. After being skeptical about trying this I am so glad that I did. So far I have the Choc, Graphite, and now the Sapphire Shimmer. Of course now my goal is to collect the other colors-Bronze and Ivy are next on my list.

this would be gorgeous as an eyeshadow, i feel like thats the only way the shimmer is visable. it really enhances your eye color- i have brown eyes. I use it with the precision gel liner brush but i'm wishing i used hte square brush, so i can do a cats eye with it. i also have ivy shimmer. i like these better then fluidlines.

This color is beautiful. I like this sapphire shimmer color a lot. Even though I have hooded eyelids and it's practically impossible to see. I know it's impractical. But I just love collecting these BB gel eyeliners and playing with them.

Gorgeous DARK blue that just enhances every eye color out there (I have brown eyes), BUT after buying and loving the NEW loreal cream hip liner in Midnight blue, I cannot justifying a repurchase. I was intrigued by the shimmer, but I don't see any. The textures are practically comparable, too. I'm hoping that as I dig more into the BB pot, I will get some of the shimmer.

This is my 3rd BB gel liner (also have Sepia Ink + Violet Ink). This applies smoothly and evenly to begin with, and can be blended to a smokey shadow look. I prefer applying this densely with 2 layers to bring out the richness of the blue. On me this dries to a semi-matte deep navy with barely any irridescence (it's has a metallic sheen whilst still wet). The colour is lovely with my dark brown eyes. Unfortunately, this colour has a tendency to cake up after 2 layers, and is not as smooth as the non-shimmery formulas. I've given 5 lippies to Sepia + Violet Ink, but this one gets only 4 - won't be repurchasing (even though I like this colour most).

I swatched Sapphire Shimmer Ink on my hand on a dark, cloudy day at Nordstroms. I wasn't terribly impressed but I bought it anyway because I knew it had pretty good reviews here. I swatched it again on my hand this morning before applying it to my eyes and again, was not too impressed. This seems a more "transparent" color to me than bronze shimmer ink, which seems more opaque. It looked mostly black on my hand with some blue irridescence. Then I tried it on my lids and was surprised at how flattering it is against my brown eyes and blue Kiss Me mascara! MAC Waveline is a little harsh on me so I have been wanting to try the Sapphire Shimmer. This is much better! The shimmer really makes this color wearable not harsh and yet it's not gaudy or over the top like some shimmer/glimmer/glitter eyeliner. So tasteful. It's such an elegant color that it almost seems like it should be reserved for an evening out. This will be a definite repurchase if I ever run out, LOL.

This eyeliner is a beautiful dark sapphire blue with a touch of shimmer. The consistency is very smooth and glides on easier than MAC fluidliners. However, I still prefer the texture of fluidliners because I feel that I have more control with the application since the they're not as smooth and "oily" in a sense. Nevertheless, the staying power is awesome, with no smudging or flaking. This color is particularly gorgeous and brightens my eyes. Smudge lightly with a Q-tip or smudge brush to softly bring out the twinkle of shimmer in the liner.

This is my favourite BB gel liner along with Violet Ink. I used to like Cobalt the best, until they brought this one out (I missed it when it was LE, I'm so glad they've brought it out again!). It is similar to Cobalt, if you don't have Cobalt and you are looking for dark blue gel liner I recommend this one and to skip the cobalt one. The shade looks very similar to cobalt, it is a very beautiful dark blue which, at least on me, is still noticeably blue and not black. The shimmer is a gorgeous sapphire blue iridescence, it's the most beautiful thing! Great for dark brown eyes. = UPDATE = I LOVE this so much more than Cobalt, I wish they'd ditch Cobalt and keep this one instead!!! This is just SOOOOOOOOO gorgeous!!!!!
