I have been using this product since I was 18-19 years old. I am now pushing 27. I have perfected the do's and don'ts of this product to a 't' When I use it it's at night right after a shower -be sure to exfoliate- and a couple hours before bed (Giving it time to absorb and dry so it doesn't get on my sheets etc.) Basically to get the best natural results I do my face and neck first, not totally wiping away but going over my upper lip and sideburn area with a dry towel after applying it, it just seems to want to show up a lot in those areas. Wash hands, then apply to torso, legs, chest etc. Then wash hands again. Then after I apply to arms and hands I only wash the palm of my hands with little running water and liquid soap and rub them together making sure to not get anything on the top of my hands to avoid streaks and water marks. Then dry hands and make sure to get in between the fingers for a natural looking tan. I hope I didn't make it sound high maintenance because it's really not that stressful of a process!! I have tried other brands and whatnot, but none really compare to this one. You can find it literally anywhere and the price isn't too shabby! Hope I helped =)

I've been using this product religiously for the past two days. I got it because I like the brand and it said it was gradual which is what I was looking for.
My first impression of it was that it was a bit on the pricey side. I only use it at night because it is pretty greasy. I don't mind that too much but someone else might. It's super hydrating which is good. I'm using it on my face, neck, and chest because those are the only parts of my body that don't tan...at all. I actually really like this product. I'm not orange, and I haven't noticed any streakiness. I have acne scars on my forehead that aren't amplified by the lotion which is awesome in my book. Other tanners tend to make my scars pop more. On top of that, it doesn't have a particular aroma. It reminds me of yogurt. It's very light and since I apply this at night the scent is gone by morning. But newbies be warned, even though the lotion is white you still need to wash your hands after applying this as it will stain! I learned this the hard way. Overall, a great product.
For reference, I got the light to medium version.

I was definitely underwhelmed by this product. It claims to moisturize while providing a buildable subtle tan. However, on me, it didn't moisturize, was streaky, and was filled with some unnatural looking sparkles. On the plus side, they got the color down-looked like my actual skintone, not the orangy tone that self-tanners sometimes impart. Was a dud for me, though I've seen my (paler) friend use it with much success. Go figure.

Gives a very nice, very subtle tan. I'm super pale and using this doesn't make me look like Snooki or anything. It just makes me look like I got some sun over the weekend. I like. The thing is, it definitely gives you a yellowish tan. If you have naturally pinky skin this might look odd on you. It also smells bad, but I just shower and use it at night and the smell wears off by morning. I'd buy again.

I love this product. I use the firming product for medium to tan skin. It doesn't look orange or fake, and it isn't streaky or blotchy as long as you rub it into your skin thoroughly and evenly. I notice a difference after only a couple days. Only use it at night though; it has a smell that isn't absolutely disgusting or anything, but isn't appealing. It also has a lot of shimmer. It'll disappear by morning if you sleep on it, but don't use it in the morning unless you feel like going through your day looking like a sparkly tan Edward Cullen. A normal sized bottle of this (7.5 fl. oz.) lasts for so long! Also, I don't believe it says anywhere that it's safe on the face, but it is. I took the chance one night and applied it to my face, half anticipating a nightmare of breakouts the next morning. It didn't break me out, and it didn't make me look like Snookie either. This is a great product, and I will continue to use it because it works well, and it's drug store so not only is is inexpensive, but it's also easy to access.

I like the color and it goes on smooth and streak free, but I have a complaint....its a lil smelly, but the smell will disappear in like a hour. and if I use it on my face, it breaks me out around my jaw and mouth. I dont know why it does this b/c it dont make me break out anywhere else. so anyways, I like the color it gives me, a soft golden color, not orangy. Ill keep buying this.

I bought this product thinking I would get a good base tan, I thought wrong. I didn't see any different from using this product. I've used it for about two weeks..and nothing. I have naturally medium olive skin tone and I wanted to start on my tan. I was so excited buying it but I was very disapointed after using it. I didnt see any results. I will not be buying this product again.
I'm still searching for another, better self tanner.

I have been using this product for a few years now. Most natural looking tan acheived gradually as if you've been going to the beach every few days.
It hurts to post this comment because I love this product, I am transitioning to paraben-free products as much as possible, I will not be buying this product:(

I normally don't use self-tanners because of a previously disastorous experience, but it was on sale at CVS, so I figured I'd give it a try. It was perfect! It gradually tanned without making me orange. You do have to make sure to wash your hands after putting it on, though - it turns my knuckels orange! It was really moisturizing, too. The smell was...OK. It's not the best, but it's not particularly bad and as soon as you get dressed you don't smell it any more. Plus the tan seems to last a few days before fading without any re-application.

this ST gradually gives you a nice subtle tan. it didnt make me orange and i liked the results. i didnt like the smell!! i used it before bed so i could wash it off in my morning shower, bc i would not want to walk around smelling like this product. it has that normal tanning product smell...its just not good. if you use it at night like i did then you get the tan without the smell!

First, for those who complain about this product, this is not a self-tanner; it's only going to give you a natural shade just so you dont have to be pale like Casper all year long. For me, it works very well, despite the smell that I hate, but what can you do. I dont particularly like the glitters in it, but it doesnt make me orangey and I feel like I look healtier and glowy. I recommend it if you dont want to be pale but dont want to look like you get bach from a trip to Africa either.

I'm the product of a Shoshone/Quebecois mother and a Cherokee and English father, but somehow, I'm white as Wonder Bread. I'm not sure what scent people are talking about, but I can't smell more than the normal body lotion scent. I'm really sensitive to that sort of thing, but I've had no problems. It makes me wonder if the people who've posted reviews are just trying to match the person before her.
I started using it a few days ago to "de-pasty" myself before Seattle's Rockabilly Ball this weekend, and I can't comlpain about anything. It's tan, not orange, it's even, not greasy, and it makes my white skin acceptable for taking out on the town for three nights of strapless dresses.

This is the first self tanner ive ever used and i have to say i loved it! the fair didn't show up at all on my skin so i used the darker one and it worked the first night!! I just found that when i shaved it went quicker, but all self tanners do that, and it fades if you don't used it every/every other night. Also, its quite orange-y and people who've used self tanner before can tell you have it on cause it's not brownish that you get from the sun. But it does make you look darker and tan and it covers really good! I kind of found it smells like maple syrup almost..... maybe that's just me---
but if you're trying self tanner for the first time, go for this one!

love this stuff! been using this stuff for years & never had one problem with it =) I use it everyday/2nd day after 3 days of using the express to keep my sunkissed tan. I'm not that white but I don't tan in some areas (covered that is obv) & I want to look tanned all around so I use this. I get the 150 mL which lasts about 3 months give or take. I only apply this at night because I dislike the feeling of it sometimes; I take a shower exfoliate put lotion then apply this so it sets in quick & stays longer on my skin.
For the complaints... I see its mostly for your skin turning orange HEADS UP PEOPLE; Jergens made each of their formula special to fit your skin colour/type so if you're white/fair STICK TO THE FAIR ONE or else you will get an orange colour. Or you can do every second day cause I know people always get a shade above theirs to get the colour fast but sometimes it doesn't work. This stuff is really great when you follow the instructions CAREFULLY & get the right lotion for your skin. Though I see they do Fair/Medium & Medium/Tan which is good now for people with fair skin so I suggest people to look for that =)

I got this in the medium. Actually my mom bought it for herself, but I decided to try it on my legs. I hate all self tanner because no matter what they turn orange. No matter if they are high-end or drugstore products. No matter if they have a high amount of dha or a low amount. I had extremely low expectations for this. After a few hours, it stinks. It's got the typical dha smell. The developed color of this product is orange, just like any other self-tanner. It's just a lighter orange until you use more of it. It is NOT brown. If you have light skin, and you think this stuff isn't orange, you've probably never seen what a real tan looks like. Oh, and this stuff is streaky.

I live in Toronto and I was in Shoppers Drug Mart and had the Jergens in my hand. I had read so many good reviews on it here and just didn't want to face another summer looking like Casper. I then picked up the Life Brand Daily Glow and the ingredients are identical. Only difference? The price. Shopper's stuff is cheaper $4.99 as opposed to $8.99) and does the exact same thing. Colour developed gradually, none of the streaking that I used to get with every other self tanner I tried and that's why I stopped using them. Does have a bit of smell but it has to to work but not over powering. Only complaint? It stained a part of my bra but other than that, it's perfect. I stopped tanning about seven years ago and could never get used to having white arms and legs. I find the colour very natural.
