Awesome shampoo at an awesome price!
I have fine shoulder length hair and I have been struggling to find a decent shampoo that cleans my hair thoroughly yet doesn't weigh it down. I was hooked on Nioxin cleanser #1, but for $30 a pop, it wasn't financially feasible anymore.
Saw this at Walmart and decided to buy it on a whim, as it was two bucks. I love it! [I think it's way better than Matrix Amplifying (of which Suave is trying to replicate). Matrix's version dried my hair out yet weighed it down and STUNK, plus it was pricey.]
This shampoo is clear, lathers very well and seems to get all of the gunk and grease out of my hair without stripping it. Not crazy about the scent. but I don't like perfumey scents in general.
My hair is left swingy and perfectly clean, all for two bucks! I might have found my new HG :)
Edited to add: sadly made my hair get oilier faster, so I am dropping lippys :(

Yes, you can't beat the price. I was excited to try it due to all good reviews and not having to shell another $20 for a "hot" product. I think this shampoo is quite blah and my husband actually hated it (he usually uses anything he finds in the shower). It does not do anything bad, but nothing great either

This may not be the most amazing shampoo out there, but it gets the job done at a crazy affordable price. Keeps my hair smooth without weighing it down or making it too greasy, smells clean but not too strong, gets styling product out without stripping. A good basic shampoo (and conditioner) set for me. I tend to try out new shampoos/conditioners whenever I finish the bottles, but there's really nothing wrong with this one.

This review is for the purple bottle, I think it is now called volumizing rather than amplifying. Anyway the bottle says compare to Matrix Amplify. Well I was looking for a volume boosting shampoo, I actually tried the Matrix brand and HATED it. But I really like this shampoo from Suave, so I guess they not only imitated but improved Matrix's shampoo. It left my hair bouncy and full (however, the first time I used this my hair was staticy, but that could have been the outfit I was wearing that day). I'm glad I gave it another shot. There is a lot of lather with this product. I thought the smell was a bit strong the first couple times I used it, but now I am used to it and don't mind at all. Have I finally found a replacement for their Suave thick and full that they no longer make? I think maybe I have... this one might actually be better on the results end, more fullness.
UPDATE: After using this for a few more days, I do think it is the cause for some extra static in my hair throughout the day, so I am deducting one lippie. My hair is still nice and full though so I will still continue to use this.
_____________
Stopped using this, static is annoying and found better shampoo/conditioner.

i just bought and used it today and i already LOVE IT! it does exactly what it says on the bottle! i have straight to wavyish hair, and the shampoo made my hair look and smell amazing! this is the best shampoo that i've used. before i used a different shampoo and it made me have dandruff/product build up, and it made my hair flat, which is what i hate the most. then i read the other reviews and i went to buy this product. and i'm completely satisfied with it! it gave my hair a ton of more volume and it made it shiny and soft too! it works just as well as the salon products! it cleaned out all the build up and my hair looks really healthy! this works just like and even better than most of the other shampoos out there. it lathers really well and even with just this shampoo my hair still feels and looks great! i would definitely recommend and repurchase it again!

This pretty purple bottle caught my eye when I was at Wal-Mart, and I was having one of those days where I just had to buy something. I ended up walking out of the store with the shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, root lifter and volumizing foam from this line. Over the years, I have found that Suave makes really good knock-offs of higher-end brands. I had tried their versions of other Matrix products, and figured their version of Matrix Amplify would be worth a shot, too. Well, I am very impressed! This shampoo cleans very well, and smells great. My stepson has even commented on how nice my hair smells lately. My only complaint is that it doesn't lather very well, and I really appreciate a good lather. Other than that, it's a great product, and definitely worth the $2 or less that you pay for it. I highly recommend this!

Wow! Great product for the price- I paid a little under $2 for this at Target. I usually switch off between Aveda Pure Abundance and Biolage Volumetherapie but decided to give this a shot, since I tend to like the squeaky clean feeling that usually comes with low-end shampoos. I always wash my hair at night and go to bed with it damp, and then curl or flat-iron in the morning when I get up. This shampoo gave my hair more body and volume than both Aveda and Biolage did- my hair had major volume with zero product in it. It wasn't a messy bedheady type of body that you get from sleeping on it, but rather a true lift from the roots. And it looked amazing after I curled it- like sexy VS model hair. The scent of this product is just OK- I don't really care for it but it dissipates quickly. I definitely won't be spending extra money on Aveda or Biolage anymore, and will be grateful to save a few bucks.

I like this shampoo & conditioner line more so for the scent than any volumizing properties. It doesn't weigh my hair down either but it really doesn't make it any more volumized than any other shampoo.

Just a quick note to say that the Amplifying shampoo and conditioner are now sold as Volumizing, but the formula is the same. Will update once I start using it.

I bought this based on reviews. It's a good shampoo, and I think it does give my hair just a bit more bounce and volume afterwards. Considering the price, I think it does a better job than a lot of low end shampoos on the market including Pantene, Fructis, etc. so I'll repurchase Suave products for that alone. I'm going to try more "all natural", less chemical shampoos next time though. Still, Suave is good for the wallet.

this was an ok shampoo. It didn't really make my hair feel thicker...it just seemed the same as always. But since it's cheap I will repurchase anyway.

This product did absolutely nothing for my hair. I used it every other day for about 2 weeks and after each wash, my hair would be extremely tangled and felt dry. I never saw an improvement in body either! I would not purchase again and will not finish the bottle I have!
To add, I have long thick, lightened and highlighted hair...may have just been my hair type!

Absolutly love this stuff! i have naturally wavy thick hair, but ive been straightning it so much its been sorta flat lately! so i got this stuff to give my hair some more volume, and it really does what it says. shiney thick hair, so pretty! its very cheap too so thats nice. I definatly recommand it, but remember to use a good conditioner afterward, because it might be drying, and i always use a strong clarifying shampoo every saturday to get all the gunk out. my hair is so healthy and pretty now!

Perfect shampoo for me. My hair is long, thick but baby-fine with some damage to the ends and add to that the buildup I get from various product... all of this usually makes rinsing all the shampoo out of my hair an hour long affair. Out of everything I've tried (other than Giovanni Tea Tree) this is the only one that rinses fairly easily and leaves me with bouncy, shiny, vibrant hair.
For $2 at the grocery store versus $8 at the health food store for Giovanni, it's a total no-brainer.
I did rate the packaging as mediocre because I'm not crazy about the lid.

Thanks again to MUA reviewers. This shampoo rocks! It lathers great, smells great, is dirt cheap, and most importantly are the results. My long color treated hair loves this shampoo and looks great when I use it. Gives lots of volume. Yeah!

It's simply unbelievable to me that the conclusion of my lifelong search for a shampoo that works on my long, fine, abundant (read: tangly) hair should end with a two-dollar bottle of Suave. However, this is one story with a happy ending. No more dryness, dullness, static, greasies or other complaints. And amazingly, the stuff keeps working over time. I like to pair this with Nexxus Humectress Moisturizing Conditioner for easy detangling. An all-time HG!
