“…And Norma Kamali then said, let there be lavender…” NK Lavande is absolutely gorgeous- a powerful clean, flowery lavender that makes me believe I’m in the garden and I’ve just crushed the flower tops between my fingers. It’s a fresh, bright, sunny lavender without any powdery or overly sweet notes. Makes me think of my time in Greece and the Mediterranean. Lasting power is about average for lavenders- a few hours on me, but it’s worth spraying again to get that wonderful, lively opening blast of fragrance! (I decant mine into a small purse spray.) Love to wear it as a pick-me-up in the morning, but it’s just as good at bedtime. Makes me think there must some really special essential oils in this one- it’s as close to aromatherapy as I can get with a perfume (besides maybe vintage Joy.) I’ve searched long and hard for a lavender that’s close to the plant and true to the essential oil. I believe this one is as good as it gets. It’s pricey, but worth every penny. I’d buy it again and again. I hope it’s around that long.

This is a lovely, sweet lavender fragrance, not the herbal/medicinal kind that is more commonly used in clean-smelling fragrances. I smell lavender, jasmine and soft woods, and eventually this dries down to sweet jasmine on my skin. This is a rather pleasant and sophisticated lavender scent.

Appropriately named. This is indeed lavender. And if you like lavender scents, it's really quite lovely. It's not a sharp, medicinal lavender, rather it's soft, sweet and is well rounded with a woody base. Lasting power is superb. Personally, I prefer the lavender salt scrubs and lavender tea that NK makes - brilliant products.
