I went to the first Nars counter which has opened in my town yesterday and got this among other things. The MUA tried the gold shadow on me with Mounia in my eyelid and I fell in love with it. The pink eyeshadoy could just show up a little bit more, still I have to try it with UDPP. They are matte shadows with the perfect hint of glitter, perfect for neutral looks with that extra sparkle or for ice-queenish looks. Definitely worth the price!!

I honestly think this is NARS' worst shadow duo. They are chalky and have no color payoff at all. One side is a beige with silver glitter, the other side is a light pink with silver glitter. Boring, but whats even worse is that it wont go on your eyelid!

As a product: This particular duo goes against the grain of NARS; the color combination is washed out and uninspired, the color payoff is practically nonexistent, and the while the powders are finely milled, they manage to be chalky even over a base. The compact is wonderful, however, in the signature rectangular rubberized container with a full mirror opposite the eyeshadows. Price is a bit steep, at $31, and while I don't mind this tag for most of the shadows, the downfalls of this duo do not make it worth the money.

As a color: Windstar is a very light marshmallow pink with a few sparse gold shimmers and a yellow-gold with considerable gold sparkle. On the eyes they appear EXTREMELY sheer, and oddly enough, both look quite alike in the sense that they impart a cloud of gold shimmer (and not much else) on the lid.

As a whole: One of NARS's letdowns, this is not a duo I would recommend, especially not to pale girls like myself, as the shades seem to disappear on my NC20 skin.

Complementary products: If you can manage to wring some pigment out of this, these sherberty-pastel colors would look lovely as an etheral combo, with the pink as a lid color and the gold up to the browbone, and a plum eyeliner (such as Clinique Starry Plum) and a brighter pink blush (i.e. NARS desire)

I loved the look of these colours in the pan, but they are too sheer. The left colour is a light chalky pink with glitter. The right colour is better, a shimmery gold/green, i love the colour. However, they do not last. I looked in the mirror a few hours after application to find all the colour had gone! i looked like i was not wearing any eyeshadow at all. I was very surprised that such an expensive eyeshadow did not even last a few hours.

I love NARS and I love this duo! This one gets used out of all my duos! When I spring for a neutral look, this is the best. The pink side shows up lightly that gives a hint of pink. If it was more pigmented you would look like you have the pink eye. The honey beige really gives the base of the eyelid color without turning different colors. It's very pigmented and unique. Both shades are matte with tiny glitter. It's not obnoxious glitter, it stays in place and they are very few when applied. I will repurchase!

I got this in a swap a while back because I was trying to expand my stable of neutral shadows, and these just looked so pretty in the pan. But alas, its performance was subpar. On my light-golden skin (NC25/Stila 30 Watts), I couldn't even get it to show up! I tried different brushes, applying wet, etc... and still, it looked like... well... nothing.

Disappointed, I ended up swapping it away... but if Mr. Nars ever decided to make a more pigmented version of this, I would certainly snap it up ASAP.

I am in love with this duo. Its a pale pink w/shimmer, and champagne w/shimmer. The shadows go on so smoothly and last all day long. The colors are wearable for everyday- at first when I saw them in the pan I dodn't think so. I was so wrong! I really like this duo, and I love NARS stuff, so this will be a definite repurchase!

I had bought a different shade duo and was very impressed at how highly pigmented and smooth it was - so I decided to order another one. I ordered online and picked this shade but was so disappointed when it came and was so sheer and hardly noticeable. I could have spent 3 dollars at the drugstore for the same effect.

Much happier this than I thought I'd be at first, glad I took a chance! It's a great neutral duo, perfect for work and summer. I'm an NW20, FFF, cool toned and this works great. I wouldn't actually call it glittery, to me that means thicker pieces of shimmer, and this sparkle is very fine. I would compare it to the degree of sparkle in the night series, especially Night Fairy. Would definitely repurchase!

I swapped for this and was disappointed when I saw it. It is not "shimmery." That stuff is *definitely* glitter. Microglitter, but definitely glitter. The shadows are mattes with microglitter. But the colors are very nice together. They are very sheer, and the pink really does not show up much. But that is exactly what I am looking for these days. I tried it over Lumene e/s base & also over UD Primer Potion. It definitely shows up better over UDPP. I also tried it wet -- the pink looked like chalk when it dried.

If you are looking for drama, pass on this one. But I quite like it. I am a fan of very neutral looks these days. I don't know if I would wear this to work, because of the glitter. But it is a very subtle, sophisticated evening or Saturday eye for me.

I am very happy with Nars e/s. Stila & MAC look DRY and crepey by the end of the day, despite my oily lids. By 2:00 pm, I look 15 years older. Nars shadows don't do that.

When I saw this for the first time,I completely fell in love with the quad. The duos look so compatible together,I use the light pink as a whole base and the peach from the lashline to the crease, they both blend beautifully well.I have read recent reviews on this particular quad and a few people have been saying that the colours just dont show up,I personally agree in a way because the light pink dont show up that well, but it does build up a lovely canvas for the peach color to sit on.Also to my amazement, the peach looks beautifull for my brown eyes(nc25 asian skintone),I lined my lids with fluidline macroviolet and they just go soooo well and I am very amazed.I will definetly try other colors.

Try it,you will not be dissapointed.

This is a very disappointing product. 1st off, the pink is so close to Fathom that right away it was a waste of money. The gold color IMO has gold pearls like Night Star (also have already) except NS is peach, not gold. When I apply it I really try to like it, but the colors are invisible unless I am outside. But that time I've packed on so much the it is looks like the most powdery natural eye you have ever seen outside. I'm going to return it. The gold makes me look jaundiced, yuck. It is very pale and natural look so made that if you are looking for more. Seem like a no make up MU for a natural special effect, but I think the other two singles I mentioned are so much better. If you don't own the other 2 colors I mentioned and you can pass off the yellow gold color, then maybe give it a shot. But don't expect to see much. Bummer. I'm very pale with some freckles and pinkness to me complexation.

This duo is awesome - I buy mostly natural, light eyeshadows and this is great for day or night. It has just enough sparkles, and it's good for all-over color. The gold is really pretty. I think it's worth the price.

Well, I guess I found a Nars duo that was no good. :( Well, at least not for me! I was lemming this for so long. Finally got it and it looks so beautiful in the pan - a pale pink with gold shimmer and a goldish shadow with gold shimmer. So striking! The pink did not show up one bit and the gold color looked terrible on me. I was so very disappointed. Not a good duo at all, IMO. Maybe for someone with darker skin (I'm PPP), but just did not show up. Swapped it away....

Worst NARS duo ever made! Total waste of money. It looks pretty in the compact but has no pigment and is difficult to place if using for glitter effect alone.

When I first saw this, I couldn't resist it no matter how hard I tried. I walked in piercing cold wind just to get my hands on this product because I couldn't wait any longer. But I find the pink shade to not show up at all. It might as well be invisible. The honey color shows up quite nice though. I just wish they made the pink a bit more pigmented. I was expecting the product to have a lot more sparkle as the colors are so sheer.

This is another disappointing duo from NARS. The duos are very hit or miss with me. Once again, two highlighter shades that dont go at all in one compact. A very pale pale pink and a warm gold color. Both are very sheer and very little color appears on my NC30 skin tone. It was just too soft/sheer for me. For $30, i would not repurchase this.

This Duo is beautiful.
Perfect for spring!
The duo shades are complimentary.
I use he lighter shade as a highlighter and the wheat- honeyish color in the crease.
A more subdued look for the stronger corals and violets on the lips for spring.
I will say that this duo is most likely to be flattering on fair skin tones with light olive (yellow) or (golden) undertones.
