I have medium textured curly hair, slightly layered, virgin hair (no color), never ever use heat, and only leave in conditioners. I recently decided that it was time for a change!!! So I went to Target and Suave Professionals Volumizing Mousse was the first mousse that had NO alcohol, I hurried home, washed my hair and conditioned it, and put this mousse on my soaking wet hair. I let it air dry which took about three to four hours in total. The mousse at first felt really heavy on my wet hair, but once it fully dried (with a little bit of a crunch feel) I just scrunched it out fully with a pillowcase... I never use a towel because it's to rough and creates frizz!!! I was soooo happy with the turnout of my nice, full, bouncy, frizz free curl!!! Not to mention I had more volume than usual! I will be buying this again =)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this mousse! I have thick long curly hair and have used a variety of different mousses that seemed to do nothing to my hair but this mousse is my absolute FAVORITE!! It calms and controls my curls & controls any frizz. I even got compliments on my hair looking better after using this product.

This is an ok product. Very low priced. Add on after wash & it gives my hair that needed volume until my next wash. Does make my hair a little stiff sometimes depending on how much is used, but other than that, its decent.

I love this Mousse, However I have thick curly/wavy hair and the reason I love this over their version for curly hair is b/c this doesn't make me look CRUNCHY which I hate. I could see where if you had thin hair you wouldn't like it as it would be to heavy, But for thick curly/wavy hair this works great.....Holds my curls/wave without the crunch and smells great! It's my go to for over three years now.

Made my hair greasy the next day and didn't lift up my roots for even 30 minutes. I was very disappointed in Suave because thier other products work really well with my hair. I wouldn't reccomend this if you have thin, flat hair like mine.
Age: 36-43 Skin: Normal, Fair-Medium Hair: Blond Eyes: Green
I used it only once ad not gonna use it again. I have thin flat hair, but a lot of it. This product made my hair even softer ( they already very soft) . Did not give me ay volume at all and next day my hair were very greasy.

I have this in the new packaging, silver can with purple cap. Not sure if the formula changed, too? Anyhow, I don't care for it. It really just didn't do much of anything for my hair. The scent is fine, it doesn't make your hair crunchy, but it didn't add volume or much control. Makes your hair extremely soft, which isn't necessarily a good thing when you are trying to add volume. Cheap enough, that's for sure, but I won't buy it again.

Didnt work for me. It left my way too soft and flat. When I went to wash my hair the next morning, it felt slimy once the water hit it. I like other Suave products, but this just didnt do it for me.

i just tried this for the first time and had to write a review on it real quick. i used this on damp hair and thought i'd used too much because it really expanded in my hand and saturated my hair. i have fine, shoulder length hair. i figured it would turn out pretty crunchy or greasy... but i just dried it and it looks awesome!! my hair is soft and smooth and def. has more height. the smell is great, the price is even better. this is definitely going to be my new everyday product!
Age: 30-35 Skin: Combination, Tan, Cool Hair: Black, Wavy, Coarse Eyes: Brown
I really like this stuff...especially cuz it does not make my hair crunchy at all it gives great volume and my curls look great!! LOVE the scent too....must try it!

I have short chin length hair that is thinning on top. I was hoping after reading other reviews to find that this product could give me some volume on top. Not only did it NOT give me any volume, it weighed my hair down and made my hair look dull and feel very dry. I used the new formula in the silver can with the purple cap. My hair does not like this product and neither do I....

I definitely think the formula changed in this product. I have the bottle with the purple cap and the new design. Anyway, I have fine, short hair and this made my hair feel really dirty. It weighed it down and when I ran my fingers through it, my hair just felt filmy. One of the very few products I have actually thrown in the garbage. I tested it over a month and my opinion never changed. Pass on this if you have fine hair.

Tried the new formula in the silver bottle with purple cap. Not impressed. Made my hair full of static, and weighed it down. I have fine hair, thinning on top and I also color it. My hair is cut in a chin length stacked bob. A lot of styling products do not work on my hair though I have used finishing sprays and a few other mousse brands with success. Plus side is this is very inexpensive. It might work for someone with a different hair texture and length.

Love the packaging (I think thats what prompted me to buy in the first place!) but if you apply as directed (tennis ball amount rubbed onto your roots) it looks like you havent showered in a month. Lol I wasn't impressed. :/

I have this in the silver tube and based on other reviews it's the new formula. This claims a lot that it doesnt go thru with. This is my review after one use.
So I got out of the shower, freshly washed with my dove shampoo but no conditioner today, put my hair up in a towel turban and did my makeup after letting my hair dry a bit but it's still fairly damp, I took a tennis ball sized amount and rubbed around my roots and took another golf ball sized amount to put thru the middle section but didn't apply any to my ends. After this I blow dried on high for like two minutes and my hair was like 98% dry afterwards. This gave some volume, and I really prefer using products for volume as the word teasing makes me cringe and think of breaking my hair and endless tangles - SCARY! haha well anyways, I'm not impressed. My hair felt all brittle and really dry and weird after... It's been about 5 hours and my hair still has a bit of volume but I kind of expected more. Not impressed, suave. Won't be repurchasing. I think I'll try Pantene volume mousse next! Oh and for reference, my hair is very layered, someone between thin and medium hair, and a little past shoulder length.

I was using the Suave Volumizing Foam for the past few years and really liked it. BUT, they recently changed the forumation and this new mousse (in the silver container with purple accents) is useless. Very disappointed that they did this. I have fairly fine, straight hair and have tried many different products - most mousses are too heavy and make my hair "crunchy". Now I will have to start searching again to find one that works like the Suave Volumizing Foam did. Based on the high number of favorable reviews here for the older version, I suspect a lot of people are going to be very disappointed as well.

This mousse must have been updated because my bottle is silver, not purple as pictured. It states that it adds 4x more volume, but I found that on my fine, shoulder length, layered hair, it did not do much of anything but add a strong chemical smell and some residue. My hair was also was a bit staticy after blow drying. The nozzle broke after a couple of uses. It was only $3, but not worth it to me sinice it did not do much for my hair.

I LOVE this mousse, and I typically hate mousse products. My hair is thick/coarse, and naturally wavy, and prone to frizz. I hate products that make my already coarse hair feel even more stiff, but this mousse doesn't do that. Also, because my hair is so thick, it's heavy, so I actually want volume, and this gives me that. It also manages frizz, and leaves my waves defined but looking product free (which is what I like). Sometimes I will follow this product with Garnier's new Wonder Waves enhancing spray, which is another godsend product for me. Suave continues to impress me, and I will def. repurchase this mousse!

I am on my fourth can of this. It works, and is inexpensive. The smell is nice unlike the other Suave mousses. It is hard to find - but I can find it in Giant. I buy two at a time. Try it.

this stuff works. I have super thick, voluminous hair to begin with, but the boyfriend said, "your hair looks tall' lol
