This mascara is remarkable, but for all the wrong reasons. I bought the color "Sapphire" because I wanted a natural navy mascara to wear with my silver, smoky, and blue shadows. On the brush, this stuff looks bright navy, but on the lashes, it's just sort of slate gray, with sparkles. I guess sparkles are nice or something, but how do they make lashes look any better? The formula is thin and wet, and it takes many coats to get any real definition on the lashes. But then it starts to dry out a little on the brush, and you quickly enter into tarantula-lashes territory. :( This mascara does NOT build well. It's just a dry, fibrous mess after a certain point of application.
At least it's easy to remove, in a way. It comes off the lashes more easily than other mascaras, but then the sparkles end up sticking to my face after cleansing. Not really a fan of that.
One good thing about this formula is that it did not transfer above my eyes at all during the day, and many other mascaras do. I will also say that the brush is unique in that it kind of grabs lashes and really combs through them, but I also feel it's too bulky and should be thinner.
If you want a very natural mascara and already have long and thick lashes, this may be a good choice. But someone who really needs to layer their mascara will probably have a a bad time with this.

I have very sensitive eyes. This product does not irritate them at all. I love this mascara- good color, no clumping, a great product overall. Comparable to my other favorite (Lancome's Hypnose) but much more affordable.

I love this mascara. The colour is beautiful and it applies on my lashes really well. I have no experienced any clumping issues, and it gave me very natural looking gorgeous lashes.

I'm so happy with this product. I have ultra sensitive eyes and have gone without wearing mascara for a year or so because it wasn't worth the hassle. But I have no problems at all with this mascara.
It's true the colour enhancing isn't eye popping, especially if you're just wearing the mascara by itself. I rarely wear makeup, and when I did a few weeks ago and looked in the mirror I was really surprised at how blue my eyes looked.

I LOVED this mascara's color... however I've got downward facing, long, and scraggly eyelashes... the brush and mascara formula obviously never stood a chance! But I lo

I have blue eyes so I thought that this mascara would make mine pop that much more. It makes my eyes stand out a bit more, but it's nothing over-the-top. It's a good natural looking mascara though, and it doesn't clump which is nice.

I only bought this because it was only $2 after my coupons. I really like the volume and length it provides, but it the color just looks black to me. I don't see anything in it that could possibly make anybody's eyes look different. No sparkle, no shimmer... just looks charcoaly/black. It's easy to wash off, too.

Call me insane...
I bought this mascara in green and purple, and I knew that it is clumpy and very difficult to apply. Usually, I run my colored mascara under hot water to loosen up the mixture.
There was a BOGO and I ordered the blue. Well, the results are the same, POOR, but the color blue is very pretty. I keep hoping that Almay will change the product mix and this mascara will miraculously get better. Hasn't happened yet. I will not buy this product again...

I bought this as i've had some itchy eyes lately and thought it might be a good idea. I have really blue eyes and short lashes. i found that this didn't really make my eyes bluer but maybe look whiter. it did lengthen but didn't add volume which I prefer. it did smudge through the day though on both upper eyelid (blue smudge!) and lower. Not the best I have used and wouldn't repurchase.

I would agree with the previous reviewer in that I found nothing special about this product. It doesn't do anything that a mascara should. I wouldn't buy this again.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Sensitive, Fair Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue
This was nothing special. It made my blues a little darker which I did not like at all. It was quite clumpy and messy also.

This mascara beats out any other I’ve tried in quite a while! One day, I applied Almay to my left lash and my favorite Clinique mascara to my right. At the end of the day, the Almay wore way better. No, the blue hue is not very noticeable. But I was recently at a very fancy, high end beauty store which sold a $35 mascara that touted the ability to make your eyes look whiter, because their formula was “just blue enough” to trick the eye into thinking the eyes were whiter. It was the same color as this shade of Almay! I know, I tested that high-end stuff, too. This Almay mascara wears as well as a waterproof. I cried for over an hour wearing this stuff and had NO smudges afterward. I know, tragic, but at least this stuff really works.

My HG mascara. Great color (if you are into not-so-noticeable colored mascara). Doesn't clump, and builds up to very nice volume. WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Well, I will say one thing for this mascara: I like the fact that it had a slightly blue tint. It is interesting, but dark enough so that it wasn't too "out there" and strange. Other than that, it wasn't the best mascara I have ever tried. I bought this because I love Almay's hypoallergenic products. I have sensitive skin their products don't seem to irritate it. This mascara was no exception. It was, however, very clumpy and flaky. It didn't do much for my lashes or eye color either. I did get compliments due to the interesting color, though. I wouldn't recommend this product.

I bought this in hopes of bringing out the blue in my teal colored eyes and was quite disappointed. I've used Almay's Intense I-color Emerald Green and love it so I expected the same results. It lengthens very very well, but clumps badly. The blue color as others have said is not that strong. On the wand it looks very navy blue, but on your lashes it's more of a bluish black.I believe I'm going to just stick to Almay's Emerald Green :) I will not be buying this again.

Well this was the biggest waste of money I ever spent... this stuff is so dry and it barely if at all looks blue.... its just total junk it clumped my lashes all up and just plain straight up sucked .... a good alternative thats cheap is maybelline great lash in blue.... since Maybelline ultra lash is discontinued :(

As a mascara this is good-average. It enhances my lashes but doesn't add much volume or thickness and doesn't smudge or clump either.
The quite scary, very-blue-on-the-wand mascara does not show up on my light lashes. It looks dark brown or soft black perhaps.
I like many of Almay's Bring Out/ Play Up liners and love their purple mascara but this subtle blue just doesn't offer anything special color wise. It doesn't enhance my eye color like the purple mascara. While I'm glad it isn't garish blue, it just isn't useful for me. I'd suggest this for those with light brown or hazel eyes-- the subtle contrast may create a pretty look.

I'm not a big mascara wearer (but that doesn't mean I'm not a major buyer, lol). I've tried 'em all and then some, and this one I picked up on a whim, wanting to grab a blue mascara for fun.
Well, I have blond eyelashes, and basically w/o mascara I look like a boiled egg.
These really make my lashes fan out and you can't really detect the blue (definitely not your mom's 80's blue mascara). It just makes my eyes pop a bit, and the lashes look (and feel) very luscious and well defined.
Makes me want to try the emerald and plum shades as well. ;)

blue mascara? its nice if you like that kind of thing. I didnt use it very much, it was okay mascara but I didnt like the blue
Age: 19-24 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue
It's not the best mascara I've used, but it gets the job done. I have to apply it a few times a day in order to keep it looking fresh. It's generally clump-free (which is always nice), and the color is great! It really does seem to bring out my blue eyes.
