this is great.
it's lightweight, very glittery, you can adjust pigmentation, creamy, and long wearing. when you apply it, it has a very light and cool feeling to it. and the application sponge it comes with is also pretty good for using the product. but the glitter can get around a tiny bit after it dries, but it's really not a problem. and u can not only wear it as eyeshadow, but you can also use a bit on your chest, or cheeks, or whatever...

If I could rate this at a 10, I would. It's an absolute must-have and I have converted more than a few of my friends to it. It's dewy, subtle, cool & soothing, the actual pot of it lasts for years (yes, I know I shouldn't keep makeup that long but I am not that privileged to be able to throw out perfectly good makeup just because it's old) and it's extremely easy to apply with your finger and isn't messy at all. I love that it is "glittery" but it's still professional and grown-up. Honestly, I can't recommend this enough. It's perfect. I would get it in every color if I could.

this product is very small , it comes in a glass pot with a dark lid. it's the most i have paid for a single eyeshadow, but i really like it.

the color- in the pot it is a bright winter white, but on my lids it 's very very sheer, so it's mostly just fine shimmer and sparkle -which i was looking for. but if you want more pigment -you should buy the other colors. (some say this has glitter in it, which i disagree with, cause glitter tends to be chunky and kinda gaudy, and this is more refined)

the cream to powder formula is pretty neat, it feels refreshingly cool when applied to your lids, but sets to a powder. the lasting power was good, but i think i still will use UDPP underneath, so the sparkles to not migrate to my face.

Expensive at $24 each, just like all the other Hydro-Powder colors. But, what's different about Whitelights is that this color is horrible! All glitter and sparkles. I was hoping this color would be just like the other two shades I own (Violet Visions and Bare Pink, which are my HG cream shadows btw), but this color was a real let-down. It's not the shimmery sheen highlight color I hoped for. Instead, I get sparkles all over my eyes. I do not recommend unless you're very young and like sparkles. But, if you're 20+, this just looks tacky.

Yuck! I splurged on this after many good months with Lemon Sugar, a smooth, sheer and slightly shimmery neutral. I thought this would be similar, but more silver-toned- instead, it was giant sparkles that fell all over my cheeks. Certainly not office-appropriate for me and looks weird. It would look better if the big silver sparkles had a more solid silvery base, but there is barely a base tone and the chunks stand out on an almost-bare lid. For the subtlety and reliability of the other shades, this one was strange. Maybe I could wear this at a club? Hope you have better luck.

love love love this product.
it's an absolute essential in my make up bag and i wouldnt go anywhere without it
looks awesome in the corner of the eye, gives a real 'pop' to help create stunning eyes.
works great as a highlighter and as a base for smokey eyes.
you can play around with it so much to create heaps of great looks.
its an everyday item for me.
very cost effective (tiny jar goes a LONG way!- ive had mine for about 4 months now and there's still heaps left)
doesn't do any damage to my sensitive skin either.
totally love it, can't wait to try out all the other colours
good work shiseido!!!!!!!

Beautiful shimmer! Love it on the inner corners and on lower tear duct to give a wet, awake look. Looks especially pretty in the sunlight, very girly and dolly with dark lashes and subtle eyeliner. The price is a bit much but you barely have to touch the product to get enough shimmer for both eyes, so this will last a long time. I've definitely become a fan of Shiseido's Hydro-Powders!

Perfect shadow for going out, not perfect for day wear/work. The white shadow has very noticeable "sparklies" that shimmer, shimmer, shimmer......

I really love this eye shadow on its own for giving a very fresh clean awake look to my eyes. I have quite pale skin and this colour is gorgeous. I also use it on top of other colours as a highlight. I apply with my finger and it never creases, last all day, and all night without needing a touch up. This is such a good quality product I can't recommend it highly enough.
Value for money is great too - I think one jar will last at least a year (or probably more) with daily use.
Edit: after 2 years still loving this eye shadow. Its such good quality and lasts such a long time.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE LAST POSTER!!! i was sooo disappointed in Mac's Vanilla pigment which had awesome reviews. Now that i have tried this one, i am a die hard shiseido promoter :) THIS IS WAAAAAY BETTER THAN MAC! It's the PERFECT Winter White. It gives my eyes a nice glow and i can use it subtlely enough for everyday wear, (yes easily an everyday look!) or dramatically for going out. the cream i dont too much care for in an eyeshadow, but since i discovered UDPP i swear there is no difference. i use the primer first and the white is just as bright as it is in the pot & yes it lasts all day (altho, powdered shadows last overnight with UDPP)
i didnt know even i could wear white eyeshadow so gorgeously, im tan skin tone and ive always thought whites look best on darker skin, but alas sisters, thanks to this baby you cant stake a claim on the white eye shadow anymore!!! :D i totally recommend for anybody. I love shiseido eye shadows, they are beautiful and altho i was hesitant about buying this one along with the pink, i havent even used the pink yet since i tried this one first, lol. THUMBS UP, LADIES its worth the $23 (ouch) but knowing this jar from other colors i own & adore, i dont see needing another one for a w h i l e!

Once you use a MAC paint pot, you'll never go back to a drugstore eyeshadow; once you use this Shiseido product you'll wonder why you wasted money on MAC. The texture of this shadow is creamy, smooth, and light to wear. The colours are as true on your skin as they are in the container, and is easily layered. I agree that it's more effective to use the sponge that comes with the product to apply - the shadow adheres to the sponge and spreads more evenly than if you use a brush, in which the shadow gets caught between the fibers.

I have a few methods of application - either I wear it alone with a heavier application in the eye crease, lightening as I move up to my brow line; I also use it as a base for other brighter colours; with a slanted brush to line my bottom lid; or, in combination with H4 to brighten up the eye below the brow bone.

My personal thoughts: this product is much more refined than other eye shadows. It's personality is not that of a teen-aged mall-rat or a skankiliciously clad flirt - it gives off the aura of being beautiful instead of being hot.

I received whitelights as part of a swap and I think I generally like dry eyeshadows. I could not find a brush out of my entire collection of brushes to apply the eyeshadow without making it sort of uneven and chunky. I generally do not like to use my fingers to apply anything (doesn't seem very hygenic to me).

Overall, the color was very pretty but it didn't appear to last longer than MAC pigments with UDPP. I probably will just stick with pigments and eyeshadow dry eyeshadow pans

I brought this product from Myer recently and i was amazed! I own some really nice eyeshadows and i didn't think id come across anything that would match there beauty however it seems i was wrong! i cant say that shiseido is one of my favorite brands but this eyeshadow is fantastic! It's really subtle... and has alot of glitter and shine. What i love about it is that it doesn't get cakey or crack like some other cream eyeshadows. It can be used as a highlighter as well and goes perfectly over any colour. I use it over my brighter eye shadows to make them a little less obvious as we know bright colours can sometimes look overdone unless applied correctly. A little of this stuff goes such a long way. This is just so different to other eyeshadows and so glamorous, i find myself wanting to purchase the other colours aswell! I can't wait- i will be going to myer this weekend for sure.

Age: 30-35   Skin: Acne-prone, Fair-Medium   Hair: Black   Eyes: Black

PROS:
-Doesn't get cakey like a lot of white shadows do
-Does not oxidize either. It stays a pure sheer whitewash of shimmer
-Looks great layered over darker shadows to give them a brightening effect.
-Brightens up Spring Plum and pairs well with Languid Lagoon

hellewwwww sparkles!! lol

as a huge fan of macs highly under appreciated frost pigment and reflects pearl glitter, i absolutely love this shadow... all you need is a tiny bit on your lid and blend out evenly, youll have that nice subtle hint of sparkle for everyday looks.. there is fine & super fine shimmer to it.. so the different sizes give added dimension to the sparkle

the reason why this gets 4 lippies out of 5 is not because of the color iteself.. is because as a base, all the shiseido hydro eyeshadows could stand to be a little more long wearing, like say mac's paint pots... other than that, these shadows are gorgeous and are very smooth and silky to the touch... application is very easy

Age: 18 & Under   Skin: Oily, Medium   Hair: Brunette   Eyes: Brown

Pros
- Long-lasting
- Pot seems like it would last forever
- Highly pigmented
- Packaging is small, compact, convenient.
- Includes applicator, though using a brush is probably better.

Cons:
- Wayyyyy too sparkly!! I would probably never wear this for any reason!
- No color, just sparkles! I realize that some people use this as a highlighter, but I didn't think it went on entirely clear (with maybe a tint of silver), even without blending! I expected it to be white.
- Hard to get the right amount on any applicator or brush.

Would not buy again and do not recommend it. I was surprised by how much I was not pleased with this product, considering that everyone else here gave it very high scores. (I'm sure the other shades are nice, but this one was not!)

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but I cannot make this colour work for me. I love the other colours of this shadow, but this one is just largish sparkles. The colour does not show up on me maybe because I am NC35ish? If anyone out there with my skin colour made this work please let me know! I want to love it I do. I still gave it a 4 for hope!

Love this e/s. The layering capabilities are amazing. Can be worn alone. Can be layered for intensity. Looks beautiful layered with other brands of powdered shadow to create depth or give some colors a light frosty, shimmery kick. I wore a thin layer of Whitelights all over the lid with a wash of MAC Beautiful Iris, also tried it with Shimmermoss. Got alot of compliments. Not subtle but pretty. Looks great alone with black liner for a classy winter look. Blah Blah. EVOL it....try it...

I don't know why more people haven't discovered these Hydro-Powder shadows yet-these last forever once applied and have a great consistency. These retail for $27 USD and come in a jar along with a sponge-tip applicator. This shade, Whitelights, is absolutely beautiful. It's a true white creme shadow with irridescent sparkles that goes on smoothly. They feel cooling once applied but dries to a powder that lasts all day and doesn't budge. Really lights up the eye area and can also be used as a highlighter on the cheeks, etc. This formula also comes in other great colours and each pot lasts, for me, at least a year.

I love these Hydro Power shadows! Whitelights is a shimmery (not glittery), translucent white shade. I use this every day as a highlighter for my browbone, but it also works great as a sheer wash all over my eyelid. I never had much luck with cream shadows, but this never creases and it stays on all day long. $23 USD is a bit much to pay for an eye shadow, but this little pot is going to last me forever! I am in love!
