I really like this product for its brightening qualities and staying power. It works well as a base, but I cannot use it without primer. It adds a nice, creamy shimmer that can be worn on its own but it also sits nicely underneath an eyeshadow and does not overpower it.

I bought this from the Clinique counter at Macy's months and months ago in Canvas. First of all, it's not a cream, it's more of a hard wax almost..I use my fingers to apply it and it goes on fine. I think the longer you have it, the harder it becomes after a while, but it's still very much usable. As a base it's not that impressive, but put in the inner corner of my eye it really brightens up my face. I wear it everyday, love it

I've been using this for a few years. I know the cult favorite is UD Primer Potion but I've always been a loyal fan to this product. I don't get how it has so many negative reviews but some products don't work for everyone. This is creamy in texture and my shadow never creases throughout the day if you apply it right. My eyelids are extremely oil and it's very annoying. This dries it right up. Without this I'm lost haha. Everyone has their favorites. This is definitely mine.

This is such a terrible product! I bought this to prevent my eyeshadow from creasing and this did not help at all. It creased within about 2 hours. It also comes with very little product for a high price. I recommend Too Faced shadow insurance (which lasts all day on my oily skin without creasing) or Urban Decay primer potion.

This product will dry out. So be careful. I love the colors, as a base or alone. It is hard to blend with a brush(evenwith a dense eye/lip brush) so use your clean finger. I put it in my pocket let it warm up. This helps out a lot when it is on it's last leg.

Ive been a faithful user to this product for years, im probably on my 6th compact by now.. and i hope for many more. ive tried UDPP and Too Faced as well. nothing compares. Like someone else stated below, the secret IS to keep the foil seal. i do it all the time, it takes me forever to use one entire compact and when you get to the end it got harder and harder to apply since it dries fast each time you open it. just keep the sticker.. ive had mine for 2-3 weeks and its now the same creamy formula. im hoping to hold on to it. if you havent kept it use plastic wrap/or a piece of a sandwich bag to help seal the consistency of the formula. LOVE IT. just blend well, i use the lightest shade-i think its the lightest 'canvas' what also helps is to use a shadow over it to help seal it on your lids then use liner.. it will stay. its so awesome!

Went on very smoothly...didn't mind that it was dry to the touch to start with. Didn't crease and worked great as a base for pretty much any of my other eyshadows. Just be sure to keep the piece of foil and use it to cover the touch base...and always make sure you fully close the small compact.

I agree w/ alot of the other reviews...this was a waste of money. It's very dry to the touch even though it's a cream (although it has the consistency of a thick paste)....does not help prevent creasing.....I will not be repurchasing.

Shit product... don't waste your money. I bought this out of desperation because there was no Sephora around to purchased the UDPP or Benefit F.Y.Eye and my eyeshadow ALWAYS creases if I am not wearing a primer. After trying it out for a couple weeks, I am very disappointed. It doesn't prevent creasing at all and I might as well not bother wearing it because it really doesn't make much of a difference. Just bought MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly and I am very very please - it is 1000000x better than this product.

HG product - Keep the foil seal!!! I replace the foil seal after every use to avoid it drying out. I am so happy I found this product! I suffered through years of putting my eyeshadow on in the morning and it creasing by noon. I have very oily eyelids but they sometimes have dry "patches" in the winter and the only thing that will help is an eye cream. So hello, I've got oily eyelids and then i'm having to put eye cream on top of that? It made it impossible to wear eyeshadow! This product allows me to do my makeup at 7am, and at 9pm my eyeshadow looks exactly as it did when I left the house that morning. And I've got eye cream on underneath! Will repurchase this again and again!

LOVE this product. My eye makeup was either totally gone by 4:00 or gross and creased and greasy. Ew. My makeup today at 5:00 looks almost just-put-on. Awesome.

I brought this due to convience. I don't have a car and the nearest Sephora and MAC are two bus rides away. So I was in the department store and saw these. I picked up buff 07 because it looked like a good neutral color to go under my shadow. So at first it was ok. It's shimmery and goes on lighter than in the pot. It dried down and it lost most of the pigmentation and only the annoying shimmer remained. I suffer from eczema around my eye area this condition causes my eye are to be very pigmented and dry. So shimmer is tricky for me to work with. I wish more bases were matte and not shimmery.
Fast forward 8 months ahead guess what it dried out. Eww! What? How could it dry out? I barely use it the lid was always on tight I know this because I hear it click when I close it. I cannot use this it's so thick and not blendable it won't spread across my eyelid. Waste of coins and dollars.

this is OK. it does dry up super easily and is barely adds any color. it is NOT a primer but does work as a base. reminds me almost of a depotted eyeshadow pencil. but i absolutly hate the packaging i think the color is super ugly and mine sticks when you close it and you can barely get it open. wouldnt reccomend.

While it looks fine if you wear it on its own, it's ridiculous to call this a primer because it definitely does not keep your eye shadow from smudging. I did the basic primer test by putting a small area of it on my hand and brushing a little eyeshadow over it to see if it picked up more color than the rest of my hand. Nope. Oh the marketing techniques of Clinique...

I bought this to try it cuz I was bored of my eyeshadow primers (even though you have great primers, you wanna try somethign new, ya know?) so I bought this.
a) It primes well the eye but it does add and opaque color so dont exepct it to be invisible. It is like a mac paint.
b) The product does dry out but that's if you dont use it frequently AND if it does dry, you can always 'undry' it by putting the container is a glass of hot water or just swirl your finger in the product to warm it up.
c) It doesnt last too long and eventually, you can tell it's creasing BUT to do a job for a couple of hours, it works fine.
I give it a 3 because for a couple of bucks more, you can get a primer that's wayyy more amazing, but this product isnt all that bad.

Got dooped into buying this product because the brush on cream eye liner from clinique was smudging, creasing, etc. It didnt work any better than just applying a small amount of foundation and powder to my eyelid which is what I was originally doing. Havent had the problem of it drying out as I have only had it for a couple of days. Not worth the $14 at all and it will be going back to the store for a refund.

I bought this to combat the creases in my eyelids that come with eyeshadow, and also to use it on its own as a color. This product dried out VERY quickly. I would not buy it again. I wish I'd known that the air would get to it and make it unusable so soon.

Clinique Touch Base in Canvas does a decent job as an eyelid concealer and primer (or just by itself), but as other reviewers have pointed out, it makes my creases a bit more visible, and it tends to become dried out in the little compact pot and thus drying. It's not a bad product, but personally, I prefer the creamier Eye Basics product made by Laura Mercier that I recently discovered. It's easier to apply and comes in a tube with an applicator wand.

I've been using this (in Buff Lighting) as a shadow base over foundation for about a year and it works pretty well, even in heat and humidity. As long as the shadow and liner I'm using are good quality, this does a good job of preventing creasing for a reasonable amount of time. I haven't had the drying problems some people mentioned -- just heating it with your finger should do the trick if it seems to have gotten a little cakey.
