After reacting negatively to Bare Minerals Foundation, I searched around for foundation that would cover my acne scars and even out my skin tone without being irritating and aggravating my mild acne.

This is the perfect, perfect mineral foundation for my skin, which is very greasy and sensitive to products. Even Neutrogena Powder foundation is a bit harsh, and liquid foundation is unthinkable. I've struggled with acne (from severe to mild) for about 10 years and this is the first product that offers me cover without irritation. I can wear this until the end of the day, and my skin won't itch like it did with the Bare Minerals line. If only I knew of this product in my teenage years!

Excellent foundation! Color match for my skin is simply perfect and can't be beat! It blends seamlessly and gives you that finished look.
It's matte which is great too because let's face it, who wants to glisten like a Xmas tree? Great value for your money too, especially because often times Jess has sales. Will never buy any other mineral foundation.

J.Lynne is my HG mineral makeup foundation. I've tried several different brands through out the years and find that J.Lynne offers the best match to my skin tone(Ivory Light 1.5). Also, the coverage is great! I only use one layer with all of my MMU foundations and find that J.Lynne offers excellent coverage in just one layer. Even though it is a fuller coverage, I find that it looks very natural on me and doesn't appear to change color later in the day as some of the others that I've tried do. There are 2 other brands that I like and will continue to use, but J.Lynne is my fave! Very fast shipping, great color selection. I also love the lavendar finishing powder and the peach.
Product size is, in my opinion, a great deal. My original sample foundation lasted me weeks while I debated to buy a full size product. When I bought my full sized foundation, the container was packed full...to the point where it was so full it wouldn't come out of the sifter, I had to put a toothpick through the holes to loosen it up. It took about a week and a half to two weeks to use enough of the product that it wasn't so packed in. All in all a great foundation!

Age: 19-24   Skin: Acne-prone, Medium, Warm   Hair: Black, Straight, Medium   Eyes: Brown

Very matte, no glow at all. Medium-to-full coverage. Suitable for those who prefer heavy coverage. Pure "simple" formula, meaning no built-in oil control or hydrating ingredients. Has yet to irritate my acne-prone skin. If you have trouble with J.Lynne's foundation looking cakey, try dusting it on with a fluffy brush for a more natural look. Compared to other mineral makeup companies, sample sizes are expensive but the full size is competitively priced. The sample jars don't include sifters and the jar's plastic is shockingly thick such that the plastic takes up so much more space than the product itself. In summary: good foundation, average prices, and deceptive sample-sized packaging. New customers get 10% off with code: RJW58476

I've tried several different mineral foundations. Out of them, J.Lynne had the broadest selection of shades so it was easy to match. Once you find your perfect match, the foundation blends seamlessly. I like that the coverage is buildable. Unfortunately, even after proper moisturization, priming and prepping, this foundation did not have very good staying power. Even in cool, breezy weather, foundation didn't last, made me oilier than other mineral foundations I've used, and made me break out. I'm disappointed because the color match for my skin tone is amazing! However, I still recommend for those with less sensitive skin.

This is my HG of foundations. It gives good coverage without looking caked on, it wears well without the need for touchups throughout the day, it does not aggravate my acne-prone skin, and it has a built-in sunscreen. The price, packaging and customer service are excellent. And the product lasts a very long time. I just bought my third container and cannot remember when I purchased one before that.

This will probably be my HG foundation. Unless i happen to find something better which i have tried many MMU in journey to find something that will do it all, cover well but look natural at the same time, not look cakey, and not irritate by already sensitive/acne prone skin. I love this foundation. It goes on really well and it covers like a dream. I use the wet technique and this gives me a creamier, heavier coverage. It doesnt accentuate any large pores which MMU tends to do. It also stays on my skin for a good while and doesnt look cakey at all. Im satisfied with this foundation and would recommend everyone to try it. They offer unlimited samples for like $2.50 and they are very generous samples.

I got several shades of this foundation as samples when they had the sample baggie clear out sale back in April.

I am Asian with yellow/peach undertones and in the winter I wear Fair Warm 0.8.

"The coverage is on the heavy side, especially with the wet method. It's comparable to Meow Cosmetics Flawless Feline formula."
*edit: I now decided that J.Lynne's formula is heavier than Meow's Flawless Feline. Even the texture of the powder is coarser just by looking and feeling it through the plastic sample baggies. Since I like applying my mmu wet with Fix+, this just means that I spray more Fix+ and apply it quicker to avoid caking.

I have combination skin with dry patches, so unless I use the wet method I run the risk of looking cakey.

I can imagine this line as an excellent option for oily skin. Don't know about breakouts since I don't react to anything.

In terms of the packaging, I like how they used a baggie with a thick resealable band. With other companies I end up tearing the baggie and making the mess...not with J.Lynne!

The customer service was great! Normally the shipping to Canada is over 5 bucks which I would have gladly paid, except J.Lynne emailed me a day later, told me that my baggies fit into a small envelope and refunded part of the shipping fee. How awesome is that?

This foundation is great for oily skin. It's matte and provides great coverage to hide imperfections and redness. I did have to order samples twice to find a good match. Unfortunately this foundation broke me out.

This is so far the best MMU i have tried. It's perfect for oily skin like mine as it gives out a matte finish. It also feels light to the skin.

I love the coverage.. it's medium to full coverage, and gives a nice MATTE finish which is good for oily skin! I use a concealer brush with it sometimes on pimples or whatever and it covers them fully and completely.

J lynne has such a huge color selection; you're bound to get a match. Just a warning though: the colors look darker on the site (I've checked it on 3 different computers) so order samples of shades that are 1 or 2 lighter than the screen. Also, the golden shades are VERY golden... It made me sort of ORANGE! So unless you're really really REALLY golden colored, try the "warm" line first. The samples are generously sized and totally worth trying out many shades of. I know they say that they're 5g, but the jars are seriously way bigger! Also, entering "RHH26177" in the discount line will give a 10% discount (new customers only, sorry!), and their newsletter gives you specials each month! Also, try their finishing veils, they're quite lovely as well.

Huge RAVE! I'm putting this up as my HG of mineral makeup lines. It is the absolute first to match my skin color perfectly (fair neutral), when every single other brand is too orange or yellow on me. I LOVE that you can try samples of all the products for super cheap prices. That's how I found out the porcelain shades were too pale for me, and NOTHING has ever been too pale. Best range of shades, EVER. Goes on great and smoothly. Wears all day. I use the mineral glow in Natural, and it gives exactly what it says (glow) with no heavy glittery shimmer. It gives me the perfect sun flushed skin. I have the blush in Sugar- beautiful pale pink. Also love the lip creams- Jessica, Jennifer, and Scarlett. All GORGEOUS. I cannot say enough about her products. The shipping is the fastest I've ever seen. The personal touches to the product line are wonderful- I received a personal e-mail from the founder after thanking her for such a great product line. Honestly, I've thrown a lot of so-so products out just to keep this stuff on my shelves.

This was the third mineral foundation that i tried (last August). It was awful!!! Went on smoothly, looked fine (maybe a little too iridescent), but by 5 pm, i had broken out on my cheeks. I'm severely acne prone, but was able to wear BE and Jane Iredale mineral foundations without a problem. I had also been managing my skin well with medication and frequent spa facials. This foundation seemed to set me back in my quest for clear skin. It shows that not all minerals are created equal for everyone. If you're at all sensitive or acne prone, be careful. At least they had samples when i tried it.

Love, Love, Love J. Lynn finishing powder. Got it in translucent and golden. They both go on beautifully and have a great texture. I purchased this powder because it does not contain cornstarch, which can encourage acne growth.

So far loving this line! The owner very generously refunded me for shipping as it was very cheap to ship samples to me in NZ and I really appreciated it! They have a huge colour range and the samples I have tried give really good coverage without looking cakey. Not shiny like BE and not super-matte, the finish is somewhere in between. I normally get a bit of an itch from any MMU, but not this one. I have loads of samples left so if anyone wants any for pale skin, page me!

This is a matte foundation that has great coverage. However, it makes me break out with pimples and cysts within a few days of use. I will not purchase this makeup again.

I have been using this for several months and love it! I was attracted to it by the fact that it doesn't have Bismuth Oxychloride and by the samples available. J.Lynne has so many shades available--almost too many (thank heavens for samples!)--that I was able to get a perfect match for my skintone. It provides medium to heavy coverage without the sparkle of other MMU. If you want some sparkle you can put it where you want it with the Mineral Glow Powders and blushes. It feels great on your skin, and I have had no problems with breakouts. The customer service is wonderful. Your order comes wrapped in colored tissue paper and tied with ribbon--it's like your birthday when your order arrives! Shipping is reasonable and fast. If you sign up for the newsletter, J.Lynne offers specials, and the makeup forum is really helpful. And the price is great! The inexpensive and generous samples definitely make this worth a try.

I have tried BE, Aromaleigh, Jane Iredale, Everyday Minerals, Pureluxe and Alima. This product gives medium to full coverage with a slight satin finish. It sticks around longer than EM and gives better coverage than EM intensive. This is hands down my favorite MMU.
